    I have been getting emails from Stagemilk for a year now and totally forgot about their youtube videos. I found this very helpful and it makes me miss acting even more. (also I gasped and smiled like a theatre nerd when he referenced the Pantalone.)

    Hi Andy, this is super helpful. How do you know as an actor when the right time to look/get an agent is? Is 'too early' a thing?

    Hi! Thank you so much for this video! I have a question for casting sites. If you know the site, eCaster, I have been with a few agencies and they have both made me pay a different price for the site, for them to "set it up for me". Is this normal? Is it possible for me to pay for the site myself each year and add the agent to my profile? Is eCaster something you want to be on in the QLD market, or is it exclusively for extra's jobs?

    • @StageMilk

      The main sites for Australia are showcast and casting networks. Outside of that I wouldn’t be paying for other platforms. I believe I know the agent who uses ecaster and they usually say it’s just for admin purposes. I don’t love it, but I guess that’s your call what you are comfortable with

      @@StageMilk Interesting. I was told by them that eCaster is for example : $160, and the other agency said it was $190 to be on the site. I'm not with either agency anymore, nor on eCaster, but just thought it was curious that I was told "thats the price eCaster has our agency pay" when those were vastly different. I really appreciate your response. I always wondered if that site was/wasn't useful to be on. I will know to avoid that in the future when meeting with other agencies. Thank you again. :)

      @@lisanewman2946 yeah it’s an odd one. General rule is the actor pays for everything independently and no money is exchanged between agent and actor except for commission

    If acting is a hard thing to get into, is there any point in me trying to do it while also trying to pursue another career? Do you think that will be too much work and not worth it?

    • @StageMilk
      @StageMilk  4 года назад +3

      In my experience I really believe having a career in acting does require 100% commitment. It isn't a pursuit you can generally have success in by doing it part-time. That said, if you enjoy it, you can still make time for it and not make it what you do for a living.
