I know people say it a lot and it's normally hyperbolic but I haven't actually ever clicked on a video from this channel so fast. More swim s&c content
I swim, weight lift, and power lift intensely 5 times a week and I would say that your assessments are spot on. ALL of those extra strength training exercises help me very much with my power strokes, wall kicks and so on. Keep it coming boys
Also thanks for acknowledging the risk / reward paradigm. As for the jump training - he has one of the best starts in history and is said to have an elite vert compard to NBA players.
If you want to see a "jacked" swimmer, Florent Manaudou is still king. My man was almost 100kg, benched over 150kg and played pro handball out of the blue 2 monthes after his retirement from swimming
Loved this. As far as swimming goes, it would be great to see you discuss Cam McEvoy. He is doing some interesting things in the swimming world from a “dryland” perspective
Awesome video as a swimmer and swim coach. If you want more swimmers to look at, I've seen a lot out of Bruno Fratus and he'd probably love to talk to y'all about it. I've also seen a good bit from Cal Berkeley's team as a whole floating around.
Long torso helps with dolphin kick. Less important in distance events. Wing span : height ratio is very important you want the wing span to exceed height
Caeleb is such an incredible athlete. My favorite. I could name a good list of swimmers to review, but it's really hard to find multiple S&C videos of them.
You speak of most swimmers having extremely long toros, Michael Phelps being the example cited the most, Caleb seems to have the broad shoulders and wingspan of swimmers, but, to my eye it looks like he pretty proportionally long legs, could almost mistake him for a sprinter or decathlete. But as you noted he seems far more explosive coming out off the starting blocks and the turn around.

Super cool to see his lifts ! He's arguably the most explosive elite swimmer in the world right now, nobody explodes out the blocks like him

For a second there I thought I'd missed the existence of an additional swimming stroke: the shark horse.
These Videos are so cool! Could you do a mid distance or even distance runner?
Caleb dressel is a beast! Wish you guys would do more niche sports like swim and tennis. lol they’re just my sports
