    Do yourself a favor, consider a copy of Tom Hand's book: Chrysler TorqueFlite A-904 & A-727, it's excellent reference material and beautifully illustrated, there's nothing else out there that will spoon feed the step-by-step details like Tom's book. It's available on Amazon but I found my copy on Ebay.

    Once again Jaybo, Lord of the Torqueflite, takes us thru a training video. This time with very little interference from the Dirty Hippie.

    If you shift a 904 manually up/down could you tie back kick down partially.. 1/2? 3/4?
    To find a ‘sweet spot’ in pressure so to speak? And temporarily drive it? New project has No kick down linkage and reading stories about partial tie-back/and even choke type cables moved back and forth inside car? Great video and thanks!!!

    • @79asspin
      @79asspin 5 месяцев назад

      If you're going to put the money and effort into a work a round, why not, at least, invest in a Lokar kickdown cable kit? If by temporary, you mean just drive it across town so you can fix it, probably okay, just drive like there's an egg between your foot and the gas pedal.

      Agree… my first 904 and just taking a crash course in em’. It’s a 65 cable set up and I guess trying to understand the differences/intricacies. I need to study more. Your videos are a huge help tho.. thanks!

      Thanks Aaron, I know you can absolutely do this. Grab a copy of Tom Hand's Torqueflite book and form an intimate relationship with it. 😆 The personal satisfaction you get from rebuilding your own is priceless.

    Is it normal for a 904 with shift kit to shift in 3rd gear @4500 rpmunder normal driving?

    • @79asspin
      @79asspin 5 месяцев назад +1

      No it's not normal. Take a look at your kickdown assembly, assuming you have the stock set up, it's possible that it's set to work too soon. If you're lucky, you may have a threaded linkage at the carburetor otherwise you'll need to make adjustments at the transmission kickdown lever. Make sure all of your kickdown springs are present and hooked up, if the springs aren't there it can cause the linkage to fall back and delay shifts, make sure all pivot points operate freely, not stuck. Just as a test you could disconnect the kd from the carb, wire it forward, gently drive it down the street, all your shifts should come in before 30mph, reconnect it immediately.

      @@79asspin I have the TCI street fighter transmission with the lokar cable kickdown

    • @79asspin
      @79asspin 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@ryandupre1443 The Lokar kit can be finicky to adjust, go over your directions, follow them step by step, you'll have course and fine adjustments, you'll also want just a little slack in the inner cable. Of course, the springs need to be connected, some kits used an additional spring at the kd lever pulling it forward.
