- As much as I love the stock tail lights on the GR86, I've never been one to keep things stock for long so that means we need to test all the aftermarket options to figure out which ones are the best! Today, we've got a set of tail lights, a 4th brake light, and sidemarkers from www.AEMtuners.com to test out. Let's see how they look!

These are definitely the best aftermarket taillight option I've seen for the gr86/brz. Toyota/Subaru did a great job with the oem lights so an OEM+ look like this is perfect. 👌

I’m going for a blacked out look for my Raven 86 so I think those side markers might look alright on mine. Definitely like those taillights.
Still prefer the OLM/JDM sides and the OEM rears. Another great video Kevin, thanks for giving us your honest feedback.

Those rear taillights look awesome, but agreed the sequence for the tetris is too long and the blinking F1 is maybe a bit too long. Those side markers are great in brightness- but I agree, the design could be more of a straight line instead of breaking off into to segments. Great review as always!

Almost there, just wish the sequential turning signal was not on top, but in the middle like how the stocks are. I am in love with the startup sequence though. I really want the sequential turn signal but so far, every aftermarket option so far has not perfected or made a really good one like the old Valenti ones.

Hi Kevin Vo, just want to say I am a big fan. I started watching your channel when you got your gr86 and all the mods that you been adding. I recently started buying mods for my gr86 and I bought the same exact brake light you installed on this video. I just have a question where can I find an extension for the white reverse light so it can fit the gr86 oem stock socket as shown in the video. Thanks and keep grinding👍🙌

I like the new taillights when it's actually on. But when the cars off the smoked lenses look off. The old one looked nice with the red lenses matching the red paint

Broo imagine if there was an aftermarket light option for the band that runs between the taillights. Almost like a Kia stinger, ohhh that would be too clean.

I like these better compared to the other set you showed a few weeks ago. But I still love the OEM lights more. I'll say it again... LOL... if someone would come out with just a replacement strip that connects the two sides and make them illuminate, they will 100% have my money! 😁

Look up "Intec GR86" on RUclips or Instagram. They have what you described but it doesn't look as good as I thought it would. It's difficult because they have to keep the trunk button around somehow.

Why on earth is the blinking brake light connected to the startup sequence? So you cannot disable the blinking brakelight (Like any reasonable person) and keep the startup sequence of the 4th brakelight?

But why break lights in the taillights look more like orange than red? I mean the stripes in the middle of taillights. IRL it looks the same? Is that a standard in USA? Probably gonna have problemes with these in europe

Have you thought about small carbon fiber side view mirrors? Like APR GT3's?
Honestly, the APR GT3 mirrors are very small and can sometimes make it more difficult to see.
Liking these taillights. Sequential should just be the Tetris filling in the light bar… too long otherwise.

Kind of odd how the tail lights have that fancy startup sequence for the "C" but the animation is never actually used again while the car is on lol. And I def agree that it's way too long.

Just buy a different vehicle at that point lol. 30k for a slow vehicle then stacking more on it just to give out at 60k miles no thanks

I bought these side markers. No idea how to "tap" them into the headlight wire mentioned. Im not a mechanic nor do i want to mess something up. Its literally 1 green wore with a metal pin like thing on it. No instructions anywhere. Bad product probably returning it. (I did not buy from the provided selller/link)

Im not gonna be negative at all but in my opinion these tail lights look akward, like its trying too much to stand out. I understand that the original tail light shape is kinda difficult to work with so im not gonna be to judgmental. Good try though.

Tails are gross. Brake lights don't even look red it looks more amber like the turn signal lights.
