- We sent out our headlights to the retrofitting experts at Circuit Demon to add some customization. They've finally come back and boy am excited to get them reinstalled onto the car with the new features! Circuit Demon installed some demon eyes and RGBW DRL boards to give us a splash of color when they're on. This has to be one of my favorite touches on the car!

Do these have a sequential turn signal integrated into the colored lighting? Is that possible somehow? I was hoping to have a red daytime running light that turns amber for turn signals
Honestly thank you for making these videos. There's a lack of resources for the GR86 right now in terms of how to modify certain things compared to the old gen. It would be super awesome if you made the same tutorials for modifying the GR86 as you did for the FRS. Aftermarket seats, quick release, headers, exhaust, how to deal with TPMS, etc are just some of the things I'd like to have videos of when I mod mine. I think a lot of people will try to search for these and you'd get a lot of views.
I'll be making a video on every single modification so it'll all be covered!!
I'd really like to see a headlight option where the DRL goes all the way up the side of the light rather than stop halfway at the reflector.
We'll see what kind of aftermarket options pop up!
Love the lights, and the overlays! Still have to wait 6-12 months for my car but I might buy some to have ready to go :)

How far are you from Omaha? Is it easier to ship the overlays to me or could I pick them up? I currently have a 2016 FR-S, but a new 2023 BRZ arriving hopefully in January.
I'm a couple hours away in Des Moines, so it'll probably be much more convenient to just ship them. I hope you get your BRZ soon!!
I just checked their website and I didn't see anything for the GR86. Do you know if I can just order the headlights with it installed or do I have to send in my only headlights? How much is our as well?
It's actually listed under the 22+ BRZ category but it's the same thing. You can buy complete headlights, but it will be very expensive because they have to source a set of OEM headlights to use so I'd recommend sending them in. It's $2800 for a complete set and $900 if you send yours in. You can also buy the components to do it yourself if you choose.
Does the Headlights still turn when you turn the Car?
I have a base model so I don't have that feature.

@chrisx5127 I am not a professional mechanic by any means. Just self taught. The lift and shop are where I used to work.

I haven't even got my GR86 and I am already hating Toyota's way of mounting headlights. I shouldn't have to disassemble the entire front end to get at the headlights.
It’s pretty much the same process as the first gen frs/brz tho it’s easy
@@laflame1339 still removing tons of plastic clips and such are a major risk for damage to the bumper which wouldn't be a cheap part to replace.
Four bolts to hold the housing to the frame and having the assembly pop out the front shouldn't be impossible to engineer and makes doing headlight maintenance something that can be done quickly with little risk of damage.
I haven't taken the headlights out on too many cars, but I'd honestly say this is one of the easier ones to do. Removing the lights on my GTI was a pain haha

I have a 2007 Corolla and had to take the front bumper to remove the head light. This is nothing new
Will these fit 2023 also does installing aftermarket headlights get rid of the stupid dark shadows on the left side of the ome ones?

Did this have any effect on the adaptive headlights? Do they still function as before?
Does not affect the adaptive headlights at all!
bruh that ish has to be a ticket waiting to happen (depending on where you live)
I won't be driving around with the lights changing color and such so it shouldn't be a big deal.

$3,000!!! I mean, it’s worth it for the quality, but damn. Is the price less if you send in your own headlights? The website mentions you can so I’m wondering if that route comes with a discount.
That's only if you buy a complete set of headlights which means they have to supply a set of OEM headlights to work on. If you send them your own it is much less expensive: circuitdemon.com/collections/all-headlights/products/circuit-demon-2022-brz-headlights

Hey Kevin - I've been following this build for a while as I'm a huge gr86 fan despite owning an ND2...lol. But thanks for the attention to detail and for being bold to make and do mods. I reached out to Circuit demon as they're actually close to me and they had the best custom service. Sent me a good quote to do my own miata headlights even though they don't typically work em. Glad I could see their quality from this vid. Will look for you on Insta now!

Do you prefer the GR86 over your ND2 Miata? Which do you like more?
@chrisx5127 I certainly do appreciate the gr/frs platform and at times miss it for daily convenience. But I still take all my same business trips, track events and or daily canyon driving all the same in my miata...just with more teteris-focused packing. In regards to power or handling, I think it just boils down to what exp you prefer more. For me, that's a roadster 10 out of 10 times.
@@just.a.simplejoe I wanted the ND2 (dream car), but it just wasn't practical for me especially since I live in Minnesota where it is winter 8 to 9 months out of the year. GR86 is not in my tier 1 because of the taillight. Gen 1 BRZ was. If only they gave the GR86 the Nissan GTR taillight. I'll be running to the Toyota dealership lol. My personal opinion---the GR86 front and taillight don't match.

You guys should design a tail light replacement for the black bar above the Toyota badge that runs between the two original tail lights. Make it a red bar that runs along the entire strip (no break in the middle) and lights up with both tail and brake pedal. Delete the boot opening button (in favour of remote), relocate it or maybe make it clear to not impact LEDs.

With the reverse light overlay will the 4th brake light show through? I did that $35 mod you showed and want to keep that.
Yes it is still visible, just not as visible because of the smoked tint.

That top portion is just a reflector so there's no room behind it.

Also, quick heads up about the store page with a semi-issue I faced.

This looks good. But $900 to send yours in or almost $3000 for new lights. That’s insane.
You can buy the components and do it yourself. Of course it'll be more spendy to send it in to professionals to have it done. You're paying for the labor.
Why did you remove the carbon fiber airbox?

Yes, you can still retain your steering responsive headlights.

Yo solid video... I had a quick question regarding the headlights. In one of your other videos, you mentioned that you might need to pass the headlights via the fuse box instead of attaching directly to the battery as they were draining it. Did you every fix/solve that issue? If so, how did you do it?

@@KevinVo Do the LEDS dim when you turn on your low beams or do they still remain bright?
Great question, it's actually recommended to turn the demon eyes off if your headlights are actually on because you will eventually overheat them.
@@KevinVo ahh gotcha. Yea because I know the DRL's are at 100% brightness when you put the car into gear, but when you turn on the low beams, the DRL's dim to about 30% output. I was just curious if it still does that or not 😅

Nope, just have other things to do. Plus it's winter in Iowa now so the car doesn't get driven much with all the salt on the roads.
