Not really, I don't think they explained it well though. You love the person and don't love the sin they're committing. It isn't even a sin to be gay, only a sin to take gay actions, so she could find a balance of loving her son unconditionally, and encouraging him to be celibate to that he does not sin. Everyone has different values and Christianity calls for love and compassion. I'm not even Christian personally, I just know many, and I think that a lot of agnostic and atheist people really misunderstand Christianity.

They can't explain what's immoral about it other than "God doesn't like it." Their god also says don't work on Sunday and keep your women in line, but they don't listen to that. Another great example is that they don't obsess over the legality of divorse the way they do the legality of equal rights for homosexuals. The argument from them basically boils down to "none of the Old Testament counts anymore (except for homophobia and half of the ten commandments)."

She told us. She was scared we'd kick her out (especially her father). We didn't kick her out. We told her we didn't understand, especially because she'd always been such a feminine girl, (desiring a husband and family of her own all of her life--how could she now be bisexual?), but we loved her and we always would love her. Now, six months later, because we don't support, agree with, and affirm her beliefs, she says this isn't her home anymore, she doesn't feel comfortable here, and she is desperately trying to save up the money to leave and move in with her boyfriend, who is also bisexual (and who by the way refuses to meet us because he hates us for our beliefs). The Bible is very clear on this. I can't change my beliefs, and neither can her father. This is causing so much pain and heartache in our family! Does anyone have any advice?
