Honestly, the manga on thats one reason why I prefer the manga version of the tournoment of power, Roshi before going down, showed goku a bit of the ultra istinct, and thus showed why hes gokus master, it wasnt like goku UI but it wasnt the same with kamehameha was it? I really dont know why they didnt show this in the anime, it would be a way to represent Roshi again as a realy good, not only figher, but coach for goku

Roshi is an inspiration as far as mentors should be. He created one of the most iconic moves in anime but beyond that. Without him Goku wouldn't have the hunger to keep being stronger, to train to be better. Without him Krillian wouldn't the honored monk he is today with values we can all respect. While many see Goku as their inspiration to be the best we can be don't forget he learned it for Muten Roshi Founder of the Turtle School of Martial Arts. Work hard, study well, eat and sleep plenty for it is the Turtle Hermit Way and should be honored. A great mentor like Roshi can do more than the protagonist for the lessons one can teach can transcend lifetimes.

Z well always be number one to me. But one thing I did hate about was how Roshi was handled, Granted I was ok with him taking the back seat but besides some moments Roshi was only treated like an old pervert. Something I appreciate Super doing was showing who Roshi really is yes he's still a pervert but he's also a master who both Goku and Krillin look up to that's something no matter the problems Super has that I am glad happened.

Master Roshi is a beloved character in my eyes. Yeah he's a pervert but it's anime so that's normal however he's a second father figure to Goku and Krillin, taught them everything he knows while still learning from his students. The Kamehameha was his greatest attack and has become the move of the turtle school. All of this is what makes him almost sacrificing himself to win the tournament of power so much more powerful and gives the attack he created such meaning.

It's interesting, too. Because the implication by the end of Super is that the "dirty old man" was largely Roshi having done exactly what Ganos said: accepted his limitations and retired. From his wisdom to training Goku and Krillin when they were kids to dying against King Piccolo to fighting against Frieza's forces to fighting for Universe 7's existence in the T.O.P. to things he does in the manga. Yes, he may be old and not have much screentime of being in action nowadays, but we still got to remember that without him there would be no Earth or Universe 7 if Goku and Krillin didn't go and train under him. My friend we showed db this year didnt really have much respect for roshi cause he's never seen OG Db when roshi's most prominent. He didnt have anything against him but he never really got when me and my other friends hyped him up. Then when we did the TOP binge and roshi got two amazing episodes he immediately started respecting him

I've loved Dragon Ball all 29 years of my life and this video game me goose bumps! "Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty" that's the turtle hermit way.

Best sensei in anime, by far, if I didn't know Dragon Ball I would say Kakashi is best but nah, Master Roshi on TOP... Rest in Peace Toriyama

"Hold on that's no old coot - that's master Roshi" hits different and adds a blur filter to the video

I will always see toriyama as Roshi. Oda, and Kishimoto as Krillin and Goku. Pillars of an industry and single handedly responsible to the popularity of it on a global scale. Rest in peace master.

Dragon Ball Super has its flaws, the power scaling being COMPLETELY broken being one of them, but god damn it if Roshi teaching his students what his training has always been about and surpassing even his own limits one last time isn't an absolutely beautiful tribute to what this show's martial arts philosophy side of things is about, then I must be completely crazy. This was beautiful, thank you, had me in tears.

The fact Goku turned into a baby in the middle of the battlefield showed his bond with his Master. Thats why this series has the best masters because their students may be stronger then them by a alot, they still remember who brought them to that level with s firm foundation.

Gotta love that they give Roshi his due in this arc. They call him Master for a reason ( also, always damn weird to see Krillin with hair )

How did you make this video ? Dude you totally killed it.
I haven't watched the original DB and I never liked Roshi in later series. I think I finally understand that old coot. He gave it his all and he's a strong member of the Z Fighters.

Master Roshi may have created the Kamehameha but Goku made the move his own. Life is like an ever growing ore and we must be constantly being changing & shaping it into something new.
