This finalized the Sherman’s clean sweep. I am now curious of how Veteran created one ultimate EUC that beat the full on assault of Begode/ Gotway in 2020. The Veteran entrance into the EUC community was a true testament of a strong arm takeover.
You already said how they did it. Gotway split the development between 3-5 different wheels while Veteran only focused on one wheel. Pretty typical results
Veteran was like, "Let's innovate but keep it reasonable." Gotway/Bigode was like, "We've been doing this for years! You're a joke." Veteran *drops Sherman* "Boom, eat it!" Gotway/Bigode *drops Monster Pro* "See! More range! Aren't I still cool?" The market, "Dude that's a Giant plastic MSuper, are you even trying?"
Always said that the Sherman or it's successor would be my next wheel. The Monster Pro challenged that thought... Thanks to your honest thoughts, it's now Sherman (or Sherman II) or bust. Great vid as always. Ride Hard, Ride Safe.
Really think that if I even go for a wheel that heavy that I’ll choose Veteran Sherman. For now, practicing with my Inmotion V10F! Nice review and thanks for it!
stability has a lot to do with pedal height, in my observations. that is why the ks 18xl and vet sherman are generally considered Very stable wheels. in my experience with 'high pedal' wheels like the MSP or the S18 (with pedals at the top placement), stability comes with time spent on the wheel. i commend the bravery of riding a new wheel up to 50! but it will likely feel more stable as one gets used to the wheel
I can say with regret you did just approx 41 mph. You lost GPS signal near the big building and then got GPS jump/error when restored signal. Try to reach this speed on open space area. Good luck!
It's the height that makes it behave like this during the speed. My V3 has 3d Printed seat and with foam on top is about 4 inches taller than the monster Pro, it catches wind like a sail hence the Sherman is more stable, it's relatively low wheel. I experienced this on my V3 at any wind over 10 Mph and sometimes even at no wind especially if you go to long turns at speed. It has slight under-steer. It's like fighting choppy seas. Crossing long bridges is the scariest thing when is super windy.
Nice beautiful review on the Monster Pro. Over Priced, too Heavy, trashy speakers, cheap trolly handle, and Wrestling with the wheel while riding. But it goes 50mph, looks neat, and nice LED lights. I need to see your EX N review 😎👍
New York consistently fading the new Gotway Wheels. It sounds/seems like the acceleration characteristics are similar to the EX which NY riders weren’t thrilled about either. The existence of Veteran is a problem for Gotway moving into 2021. They came for the Sherman and missed?! You hate to see it.
Guess I'll wait before getting one. I love the distance I would get with this. But performance is still a issue we all kinda don't want to have to worry about. I hope gotway/ begode get a understanding from their American rider base and we see the difference. Because if not then the Veteran is going to out sell them from here on out. (At least in America)

I ride the classic V3 100v monster, the thing i love about it is that it is really comfortable to ride, you basically dont feel any smaller putholes and bumps, and it isnt that heavy (60lbs). This thing is huge and it more feels like a motorcycle without handlebars, it is really fast but i cant imagine carrying this up a set of stairs. This wheel lost the thing of "light" and fast machine combined, i'd rather buy a cyklone ebike or something than this, if unicycles will grow in size they'll eventually lose their place and ebikes will replace them. Just imagine a unicycle with 8000wh battery, 7kw and 150 pounds of weight..... but what for. Hope you get the point. (sry for my english xd)
Awesome review, as always! Was looking forward to this wheel hoping it performed well. I guess I will be getting the Sherman. Side note : do you need to take dance classes in nyc to ride an EUC ????🤭
Just finished watching. Great video evX. I am disappointed in the acceleration and torque with that kind of power. It's a bit heavier than the Sherman, but on paper the motor should be much more stronger. I guess the Veteran implemented a better tuned motor in the Sherman. Veteran went for a smaller motor and put in a bigger battery, to feed the motor enough electricity. The Monster Pro is very high. So for tall people the M. Pro with seat would be a more enjoyable sitting ride. I guess you not a very strong lower body to controle the Monster Pro. The Veteran Sherman is just a more practical EUC.

Good review and some good info. Ive put 2k miles on the V3 and the Monster really starts to shine when you ride it seated. I think you should do another review seated riding the MPro. Im sure the ride characteristics would change. Acceleration, torque curve, top speed and braking all are better seated.... As Marty always finishes his reviews...IMO...;-)

Looks like ill be getting on the Sherman wagon.... I was soooo looking forward to this wheel. Price vs. Performance doesn't seem to be up to snuff for me.
Try adding jump pads for extra acceleration. You can press your toes down and use your insteps to help crank the wheel forward and get it going. Its gonna feel more sluggish with the larger rim for sure, but i still see good potential with the wheels available torque. Without pads/a smaller torque motor, i can definitely see it not being loved by the nyc crew
It's like Chris said, if you're the kind of guy who rides wheels full tilt and you're draped over it, then sure. But that is a dangerous way to ride and most riders don't want to be leaning that hard just to get decent acceleration
Really good review. And the thoughts of Chris are very much appreciated, nice to have included his opinions on it too. There is no point in getting a Monster Pro when the Sherman is better. Gotway can't even install speakers that give quality sound. Ex Gotway splinter group Veteran have done a great job with the Sherman. Great vid, look forward to the next one, thanks.

I think the mpro is safer at higher speeds than the sherman in terms of stability. Breaking however is dangerous on the mpro if you don't keep a large breaking distance between you and the car ahead of you
Thank you for this video and great insights! I am a newb but never really wanted a Monster even when I got past the initial learning curve. I am not sure when you would ever really want to hit the top speeds on the Monster with breaking like that. I have really enjoyed the Nikola as the EUC I have put the most miles on. The Nikola made me completely stop riding and sell my Onewheel XR. I am definitely considering the Sherman or one of the 60MPH hyper scooters in 2021. Have a great holiday!
Great review, bro! I feel that Gotway are losing themselves trying to shoot everywhere launching a bunch of New wheels, but actually not hitting the right customer target. Veteran was very precise with just one wheel release, as well as KS and IM... Gotway really need to rethink their product line up strategy if they want to keep their leadership in high performance wheels...
I got mix feeling with it too. The Sherman is an awesome wheel, but I feel the range of the monster Pro is going to win me over. Just wish it had a protective role bar, or at least something to protect it when I do drop it if I get it.
@@v4v777 I wish I could go into the EUC, but I just have to face the facts that my health will no longer permit me to anymore. I don't have the stamina to stand up and balance myself on a one wheel anymore, but I do have the ability to ride a scooter, or a motorcycle. I hope this is not a betrayal to the EUC community, but within the three months of my realization. I was able to get my class M endorsement on my license, and got a 150cc scoot scoot. I'm also getting a Honda motorcycle. I wanted so bad to get into the EUC, but I had to come back to reality that my physicality won't let me. Plus my wife found out the prices on those awesome wheels that she went ahead got me the scoot scoot. She said there i got you two wheels for the price of one, and she know I could never ride a electric unicycle.
@@IAmSamThatIAM okk i see.. good for you anyways. Scooters are fun too... i lol'ed at your wife's response:))... yes they are too damn expensive these wheels... i like them but i too dont ride any EUC... out of my budget for now, even though i may get one in the future (probably 2nd hand)... so, till then, i will just stick with my e-bike:)
Wow This review is not what I was expecting. I definitively won't be an early buyer. I was going to get one right away before this video. I'm looking for a luxury ride but I'm sure I don't want to sacrifice speed and acceleration. I wasn't expecting a heavier wheel to accelerate faster than the lighter wheels but to say it's sluggish is disappointing. Last but not least I was hoping for a wheel that had good sounding speakers and based on this review the monster hasn't achieved that yet either. Thank you so much for video. For the price anyone purchasing this wheel should be wowed. Who would buy a Mercedes Benz S550 with a 4 cylinder engine and cheap factory speakers? Well your review seems like that's what your experiencing riding the Monster Pro.
Brutal but honest. I think Gotway just spent too much time throwing things at the market in 2020 trying to sell new wheels for market share as opposed to producing top notch quality. Veterans single focus top quality is the reason mine is arriving in the next week or so.
I believe that this type of power pad is not suitable for this size of wheel. The front and rear supports should be farther apart to allow more forward and backward swinging motion.
The wheel with lower torque can’t have better acceleration. But the rider can. You just got not enough practice on that machine to learn how make it perform like it able to. The guy who knows what to do with Gotway wheels after couple days of tuning MPro and training with it will definitely win one mile ride against you on Sherman. All best results in 0-30 acceleration were made on MSPs. Sherman got less power than Gotway wheels, that matters.
Excellent video, I have a Sherman and so believe I will wait on what comes next (depending on what that is) and just continue to enjoy the Sherm. Was kind of looking forward to this (not the price though😳) wheel see what happens in '21. Thanks for the Intel 👍🏽🙌🏽
Might this be what happens when a manufacturer's goal becomes "specifications", as opposed to true "performance" and all of the ride characteristics which that entails? From the outside... that's what it looks like to me. As you pointed out... some of that may be able to be addressed via firmware, but that's a what... ~$3600, bet? *Edit* BTW - Thanks for your honest opinion, keep it up.
Thanks. I like my old Monster I was hoping this would have so much more power that despite the bigger wheel diameter it would still accelerate hard and more responsive. Something akin to Sherman. I understand that batteries and big motors weigh a lot and also increase the cost but when you don't seem to be getting any major benefit..... I'm out.
Can you put the metric measurements on the spec sheets aswell? 95% of the world use the metric system and RUclips is international, you have viewers from all over the world.
I wonder how the range compared to the Sherman - 3,600 vs 3,200 Wh of battery but the weight is higher, maybe about the same range? Some of the seats for the Sherman that clip on to the roll cage and have some good design for comfort make me think that the Sherman could be more comfortable for seated riding maybe. For me it is the weight of the Monster pro as well as the price that makes me think that the Veteran Sherman would be a better choice if I decide I need a long range wheel, meanwhile I need to head out for a long ride to see what range I get on my RS (high speed) so I can think about whether I really need any more than that.
Very Honest and on the point! its absolutely logical that a 24inch wheel IS sluggish, and BAD in accelerating and braking. Makes just sense. You can NOT have the same acceleration on a 24 inch than on a 19/20inch! Its not a firmware thing...its physics. And even IF you push it like crazy...it will burn through battery as hell, cause it will need SO much amps to get it running and/or braking. Which we - btw - could see on your speed test...had a max of 8000watt :-) My 2 cents: I dont know what was in their mind producing a 24inch wheel....That is even just more nishe than the old one. And to the question how it will work on hills: How should it? it will be burning motor wires...no doubt. In now way this wheel is able to make overheat hill...
So I like to ride fast usually n I hate pedal dips. My nikolas pretty solid but when I ride my friends Sherman I can definitely feel a dip in the pedals and don’t really like it. I like my wheels to be solid and sturdy, hard mode all the way
Wow... that’s so disappointing. I really hope they tweak the firmware and give us much more from this wheel. I’m a huge Monster fan and was hoping for more for us big guys but Dayum this doesn’t sound promising
I got one and could not compare with anything but my KS16X. And based on that, the Sherman was awesome. I love how stable and responsive it is. I can only imagine how strong the next wheel, the ‘Panzer’, would be!! As usual great production!!
great video! honest and detailed as always !!! Would you recommend the veteran to a very tall boy as the first wheel? for mixed use: 40% city, 30% open roads, 30% steep hills? really thank you very much. and congratulations again!
as of the acceleration 24 Inch wheel can't beat 19 inch wheel.. there is just no way and that's where your opinion as you said not a monster rider is based on.. because you are used to the torque from small wheels... though I can't really say Sherman has torque as every time I'm on it.. it's slow during acceleration maybe because it's tuned down a bit from the first batch and maybe because I'm heavy and the wheel is heavy but even on my regular wheel I can't slow my monster quickly I can't accelerate it quickly not compared to RS .. with my weight as well.. so I think the Monster Pro will be in the similar category for big guy like me.. You will have to push it a bit. As of the tire, I asked if we can get same tire we had on V3 for MP but answer is no.. some hated the V3 tire, I love it because it's durable but it's not a carving tire.. very stable though..I'm sure there will be some other options. I will test it on Monday or Tuesday when the wheel is here.. or when the snow melts
Sherman has amazing acceleration. But torque is lacking. It’s not a high torque wheel like msp HT. Sherman and EXN are fastest acceleration wheels above 16”
Wow, about the 3rd less than stellar review I've seen of Gotway's bigger wheels. Heavy, ponderous, poor braking and acceleration . . . sounds not good. I just got the MCM5 which is admittedly a different class of wheel, but it's none of those things. It's a joy to ride.
Damn it! I always do the opposite of what you say. Now that you said Monster lovers will love the Monster Pro, I don't know what to do. I'm guessing that I'll hate it. But, considering that you don't like it, does that mean I will? So confused now!
Hey Ev, I just wanted to know if you know how to install a mudguard for my KingSong 16X, I see that your in the New York area, so I was wondering if you could install it for me, or refer me to someone who can in the city? I’ve had my vehicle now since July, and I love it! However, since it’s been snowing, and I’ve been using my unicycle to make some extra cash, I need to have some mudguards put on, and yes, it did come with it, but it broke within the first week I got my vehicle. Thanks!
Sure thing! Roll by HQ one of these days in the evening and there’s bound to be someone there that can help. (HQ is Kung Fu Tea on St. Mark’s) but do you have a non-broken mudguard? I’m not sure how much help we can be if it’s broken? But a make shift one can always be made from a bubble tea cup!! Plenty of guys have done this. 😎

We are going to need steps to get on EUCs if they get much bigger!
Great review!
50+ mph!!! 👍👍👍 Not many ppl can do that on either Sherman or MP24.
Not many people want to...
Anything over 40 is sketch af.
Imma need to get a wider monitor with this glorious aspect ratio. Great rundown on the wheel!
Just watch it on your phone. Boom!
Thx!!
Veteran is a force to be reckoned with
tnx ! the best the monster pro video so far
I got mix feeling with it too. The Sherman is an awesome wheel, but I feel the range of the monster Pro is going to win me over. Just wish it had a protective role bar, or at least something to protect it when I do drop it if I get it.
It’s a hard decision for sure
You can add a custom roll bar, if you like it more than the Sherman.
Thank you for honest review
I try
Wow
This review is not what I was expecting.
I will still with my MSP and MSX for now. I don’t see anything worth upgrading to.
Same
I think both of you will dig the EXN!! Review coming soon!
Yes! Thanks dude 🤙💪👍
You’re welcome!
2:44 whats left of the old NYEF pump track :(
It’s sad for sure
Interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. 🤙🤙
I am still getting the Monster Pro next month, I have 16x Atm and it feels way too slow and easy to overpower by 100kg rider like me.
Get the veteran man, way better
Never hear you say about the Sherman, "you'll get used to it".
The tyre looks the same as I had on a Honda c90....almost as bad as the Avon skidmaster... Sorry I meant speedmaster 😂😂
Great vid👍
Cheers
Great material as always. Big thanks !
Pushing a piece of farm equipment up a hill 🤣 love it. Glad I switched my order from this to a Sherman...Still want it too though~Thx for the review!
Hey it’s not bad. You may like it. Just a bit much compared to the V3, IMHO.
@@evXNYC How'd yo uget it so fast? only palce it's "available" at is euco and that's for preorder. Review sample or someth?
Yes these companies send me the wheels ahead of time to review them.
@@evXNYC Lucky you! haha. Enjoy it. excited for my sherm (that's still taking a very good while to get here lol)
Ahhhh, been waiting on this rightch're!👍🏽🙌🏽
Yeah buddy!!
Yeah man. Monster lovers will be into it. But the rest of the world probably won’t dig it
Good review as usual.
Which we - btw - could see on your speed test...had a max of 8000watt :-)
My 2 cents: I dont know what was in their mind producing a 24inch wheel....That is even just more nishe than the old one.
And to the question how it will work on hills: How should it? it will be burning motor wires...no doubt. In now way this wheel is able to make overheat hill...
Thx Ulf
coming from a ks18s you'd appreciate the monster..
So I like to ride fast usually n I hate pedal dips.
My nikolas pretty solid but when I ride my friends Sherman I can definitely feel a dip in the pedals and don’t really like it. I like my wheels to be solid and sturdy, hard mode all the way
Ewwww! Hard mode! Yuck! Haha
@@evXNYC lol I know u nyc guys like that shit but idk I just got super used to the hard mode when I first started.
Wow... that’s so disappointing. I really hope they tweak the firmware and give us much more from this wheel. I’m a huge Monster fan and was hoping for more for us big guys but Dayum this doesn’t sound promising
Respect for keeping it real
Thx Mitch!
Gratz. Sherman is better in my opinion, have a metal shell and better bearing.
Love your content ❤️
Keep up good work!!
Hey what are the elbow pads that Chris time is wearing those look like they where made for wic riding.
They are for skiing. Their are ski forearm guards
Good looking wheel. What you think is Sherman any better?
Sherman is the best wheel!
I got one and could not compare with anything but my KS16X. And based on that, the Sherman was awesome. I love how stable and responsive it is. I can only imagine how strong the next wheel, the ‘Panzer’, would be!!
As usual great production!!
All wheels are different,gw might have with a 30'' in the future, who knows
5:00 you mean crazier girl? @Vee :P
??
Ohhhh yes- she’s wild
6:44 Is that a self driving car in the background?
Sure is
You seem to be kinder and said better things to the EX than the Monster. In your opinion, EX is much better between the two?
EXN is better
@@evXNYC how? If it’s less power and no suspension. Or suspension wheels really don’t have love from NY?
Wait for the video
@@evXNYC nice. Compare the difference between EX and EXN please. On top of the obvious (no suspension and less motor power).
great video! honest and detailed as always !!! Would you recommend the veteran to a very tall boy as the first wheel? for mixed use: 40% city, 30% open roads, 30% steep hills? really thank you very much. and congratulations again!
I would recommend it to anyone, just not as a first wheel. It’s a seriously advanced wheel, that would prove to be too heavy for a beginner.
@@evXNYC ok, thank you... so maybe the RS is more suitable for my needs
Many ppl start with the Sherman I did mines coming next week some actually say it’s the easy wheel to learn on cause it’s so stable
@@Pugsforlife interesting point of view ... then I go back to evaluate the veteran! 😅really difficult to choose the right EUC!!
I would not recc Sherman as a first wheel.
Quality over quantity Gotway....
Hi evx will you do a review of the rs high speed ?
I’d like to. Need to get my hands on one first!
as of the acceleration 24 Inch wheel can't beat 19 inch wheel.. there is just no way and that's where your opinion as you said not a monster rider is based on.. because you are used to the torque from small wheels... though I can't really say Sherman has torque as every time I'm on it.. it's slow during acceleration maybe because it's tuned down a bit from the first batch and maybe because I'm heavy and the wheel is heavy but even on my regular wheel I can't slow my monster quickly I can't accelerate it quickly not compared to RS .. with my weight as well.. so I think the Monster Pro will be in the similar category for big guy like me..
You just said everything i said...
Sherman has amazing acceleration. But torque is lacking. It’s not a high torque wheel like msp HT. Sherman and EXN are fastest acceleration wheels above 16”
Is that the same as a Begode?
Another great review, but...All I care about is the ex.n. Don’t be a tease 🤣
I have an MCM5 and it’s amazing!
dude, your videos are awesome... can I ask you about the music you use 4 soundtrack ?
Solid review.
Does anyone know how long and how far can the cycle hold that 59 miles per hour
I'm sorry not 59 but how long can it hold it's top speed
tell use how you really feel chris!
Haha
Damn it! I always do the opposite of what you say. Now that you said Monster lovers will love the Monster Pro, I don't know what to do. I'm guessing that I'll hate it. But, considering that you don't like it, does that mean I will? So confused now!
I really don’t like it and feel it’s not worth the money. Compared to monster v3 this just makes you work too hard.
Commander easily crushes this wheel
Shalom alechem - thanks for the review.
It obviously needs a Tesla charge port, obviously.
Nice home Depot music
That’s the power of the Home Depot!
