    That's kind of disturbing that the wrong one was sent. Many people wouldn't know the difference. Hopefully Gotway has labeling on the box that indicates it's the high-speed version. When he gets the new wheel, let me (us) know if the box labeling says anything.
    A high-torque wheel requires a different motor configuration (magnets) that get in the way of high-speed. You can't have it all :-)
    Those are Nikola pedals, not ACM pedals. And if you buy the wheel from any company other than EWheels, it ships with the standard MSuper pedal (with the rubber inserts). EWheels has Gotway put the Nikola pedals on the wheels that Jason sells. So Gotway would never change the shell just to accommodate EWheels.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  4 года назад +3

      Yeah, tricky to know which model you really got I think, which is one of the reasons I think GotWay should make less modesl, but more polished ones. Good to know about the pedals. I guess the pedal magnet thing will just be feedback for Jason then :) Nice seeing you Marty.

      When'd you order your MSP?

  • @themystx2
    @themystx2 4 года назад +3

    How to "deliver torque and speed in a single package" increase the voltage. They're not there yet. Also regarding your pedals not properly fitting on the shell; that's an eWheels custom addition, the actual factory units come with the original Msuper pedals.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  4 года назад

      Gotcha, I wasn't sure about the ewheels custom addition there, but hopefully that's good feedback for them. My hunch is that they order them that way customized from GotWay, instead of doing the swaps themselves?
      Definitely would love to see increased voltage and watts to the motors for torque and speed.

    • @themystx2
      @themystx2 4 года назад +1

      Alien Rides Issue is the motors can be wound for high kv (higher top speed less torque) or low kv (lower top speed, more torque) both with their own set of pros and cons. At the 100V level there isn’t much more you can do on either side so it’ll come down to higher voltage to deliver both at speeds above 50 mph.
      Pedals not being a little loose folded up isn’t much of a problem but the foot space and full grip tape is more secure while riding, so it’s a fair trade off.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  4 года назад

      themystx2 yeah that makes sense. I also think about how a Rion runs around 96 volts but can reach 100mph. The motors are smaller, and I think they draw a lot more amps out of the battery.

    • @themystx2
      @themystx2 4 года назад +1

      Alien Rides scooters have amp limits on the controller side, gotways dont; they simply cutout when they can’t deliver the current requested. Notice some of the compromises on the Rion; there are holes in the motor cover for airflow to prevent those things from instantly burning. They basically use a Lacroix controller to deliver those 400A.

    Appreciate the honest feedback and overall review.
    Hmmm the way gotway reused that chassis with swapped pedals scream cost cutting/cutting corners. Also the programming isn't all there. Like you said why can't they deliver a high torque high speed in one package? All it takes is an intelligent sensor to detect torque. If you on a hill it kicks into high torque. Flat ground it kicks into high speed.

      Tbh I always loved the look of EUC's. They look futuristic and unique, like if you saw someone riding by on a bicycle at 30mph+ you wouldn't do a dbl take but if someone sped by at 30mph+ on a EUC you definitely do a dbl take.
      As someone who tries to be green and does their daily/weekly shop with a bigass courier backpack by bike/scooter I'd like to ask how stable is it to ride an EUC with a backpack around 10-15kg? Sometimes even 20kg+?

    Thanks for the video! I was on Duf's livestream last night and they were talking about the fires and crashes on this EUC. Gotway QC really has me concerned. I am still working on picking up an EUC sometime over the summer but still debating on what to do. I am a complete beginner so I am not sure it makes sense to pick-up one of the suspension EUCs before spending more time on a less powerful EUC. I was thinking getting an MTen3 to continue practicing and riding on and then getting a more powerful EUC. The unique size and performance of the MTen3 would make it something I would want to keep even after I transitioned to a more powerful EUC. I also love the fact you can just throw it in a backpack if needed for those ultra portable days.
    I used to work in Foster City on the Gilead Sciences campus. Gilead bought that area including the building from us in 2012. You can't miss the building as it was nicknamed the "Sandcrawler" because of how it looked and that distinctive angled side. That area was like a second home for 15 years before we moved to Fremont. I used to go that sand area you rode on (i.e. "Shells") with my off-road remote control buggies, truggies and monster trucks. I would hit those jumps and get some serious air. I can see it is still a popular location for the mountain bikers. I also did a speed run on the same street you guys were using to test my Traxxas XO-1 100MPH capability. I got it to 92MPH on that street.
    Oh...that modified Boosted Rev you showed on Facebook was awesome. It is crazy that smoked the Panther like that. It looks like only a Rion would have any chance of beating that thing off the line.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, the fires are of a concern to me, but GotWay will figure it out I'm sure. Personally I love GotWay wheels, but this new Vetern wheel looks amazing as well. So many wheel choices in 2020, it's a good problem to have. The Mten3 is also a super fun wheel, I'm working on a video of that one right now.

    What's the difference between MSP and MSX Pro? Are they completely different wheels or are they just same wheel with different name? Looking at the specs of both they look identical to me. The high speed I get because it has different motor and bigger battery and maybe Nikola pedals.

    • @AlienRides

      I used several tracks by an artist called "Catiso". I use a service called epidemicsound for royalty free music for my videos, so I'm not sure if it's easy to find outside of that. www.epidemicsound.com/referral/s3a1bs/

      William R. Yeah, ewheels, my recommended seller is currently sold out, still though, pre-ordering is your best bet if you definitely want one.

    No more options is always and good thing don't be saying other wise. More app options more pedal options and highs or option to have it urself like the new v12

      @@AlienRides screw that something breaks you have to wait a year for a replacement. Them bears to forget it. It's wet where I live. Love the customization you can do in the app and the hard plastic. Rim is to crazy to, magnets on the in side. Sounds expensive.

    So many compromises with the msp. Pedal shape, pedal angle, stuck pedals, blinding headlamps, build quality, exposed speakers... i’ll wait for the next revision.

      That’s fair. I think a lot of these may be taste though, like the pedal angle. I would like to see more polish for sure though.
