First off this was one of the best videos I’ve seen for working on cars. You were one of maybe a few who thought to point out covering the throttle body. A lot of people do it but don’t point it out, but can be so critical. When I was a kid and learning I dropped a nut down an intake. Thankfully I knew I dropped it and got it out before turning over, it could have been catastrophic if I didn’t know it fell in. 30 years later I still at least stuff a rag into openings. 😂 great job pointing it out.
Excellent instructional step-by-step video by a very nice young man! Thank you for not using profanity and background music! You did an excellent job and great presentation!
Thank you for sharing this important piece of knowledge. The guy at the auto mechanic's said you better fix this cause if not I may need to rebuild your motor. Plus he said the parts could cost up to $400 !!!!!!!!
Apparently this is a huge issue with 12-16 Equinox. The engine burns more oil from the eco and this cause the cheap metal holding bracket to hold timing chain in place. Then you'll start experiencing symptoms on various codes that read "Camshaft, crankshaft, VVT Solenoids, Fuel pressure, low oil, catalytic converter and/ or O² sensors. I'm think check all the codes, oil level and see if that would make sense. I've seen some cases where the only issue is tightening and realigning the timing chain tension pulley and realigning the chain to arrow marks had fixed the issue without engine damage. Obviously remove any broken metal after taking the belt and gasket off.
What happens if u changed oil and replaced vvt solenoid and still get the code, ? Could it be the position senor to? I did check my old vvt solenoids the both click
Hi, I did change both sensors, and they are leaking, is they using a sealer or an o ring ?? I already removed them and put it back again, tightening it well, and they are still leaking. I am missing an o ring or sealer?? Help
Hello please help someone i replaced the intake fast and easy but when i replaced the exhaust the 8mm wouldn't go all the way down and i ended up breaking it what can i do

After watching your video, I was able to resolve my check engine light on my 2016 equinox. This was super helpful thank you!
Good to hear!

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!
after watching your video 4 times I tackled this job. THANK YOU for an excellent tutorial. Well done!
Love it!
Thanks for sharing this. My wife and I did this on our Equinox yesterday and your video really helped.
Awesome!

Excellent video! Thanks so much! I was able to do the sensor and the Intake/Exhaust actuators no problem, no surprises!
Great!
I never subscribe but when you showed part position and said if you want to envision it... I have to build a schematic in my head and that was perfect

Shortly after making this video, I ended up getting a new timing chain. 😖
Tha la for the knowledge my dude thanks to you I was able to fix my moms car this is golden
Is there suppose to be oil inside the holes after you take them out?
Hi my check engine light is on as well and I got codes p0013 and p0014 when u changed the items did the check engine light go off.
I love your video it bright clear and very helpful
Thanks
If you change the camshaft sensor do you have to change the valve cover gaskets?
No.
I meant the intake & outtake
@@gag2380 no
For getting the actuators out I saw a guy use pliers for spark plug boots.
Shouldn't have to use pliers to get them out. I wiggle mine out once i got them loose
Thank you for your knowledge.
DID IT WORK??? DID YOU HAVE TO TO A CAM RELEARN??????DETAILS??
When removing the vct and vvt solenoids if youre just going to replace and not diagnose vice grips and wiggle, those things dont want to move.
Thank you I got to do this to my 2016 Equinox
You made it look simple
Could being way over due oil change cause vvt code and also I have issue with oil burn I do have catch can
Yes, I would say overdue oil change would be a factor.

@rickyking-gonzalez393 Could be.
Thank you!!
Is the same part number for position sensor ?

I am not sure what's going on.
Do the sensors have to be relearn?
No
Did it work?????????
Hello please help someone i replaced the intake fast and easy but when i replaced the exhaust the 8mm wouldn't go all the way down and i ended up breaking it what can i do
Thank you 💥 so much !! 🛠
I'm having to do this on my 2010 equinox.
Good luck!
lmao! The cat footprints!
They get everywhere! 😉
,,,that one sensor is not the CAMSHAFT, but the CRAMSHAFT. Camshaft sensor is on top of the engine, on the left side

I have a 2017 chev equinox ls
Only needed one part. Anyone can be a parts changer. Ridiculous!
Now l never know if the first sensor corrected the issue.
Yes!!!! Which was the problem??????????????
Many thanks ❤
