I was warned about the pre teen and teen years...people tell me how lucky I am to have such a great kid...I am blessed but also from day one I set an example,I listened and I showed my son respect...when he was two he was crying and yelling and I said I am listening please use your words...mommy does not yell at you please do not yell at me..he got it and from then on we always communicated very well...when he was five he said Mommy I have Daddy's body and your heart...awwweee..tears....Being a Mother is an intense journey and honor. The greatest gift you can give your child is to be present and listen..let them speak..when they realize they have a voice they are empowered and will trust you...that is where the true relationship begins and lasts for a lifetime.

I love her perspective. She should read this book by my mentor Daisaku Ikeda Happy Parents, Happy Kids - Parenting Advice For The Twenty-First Century

i wanna say that her topic is not any new idea its old wine in package ,she can be called a moivational speaker to motivate o give colourful story with lot of example infused out of spirituality insights but , these matters we have told by already gr8 spiritualmonks , sadguru and awakned people who are meditators we dont need a psycology lady to talk about ancient words of living in present.. From the age told there are always someone or something behind the people achievements whether its good or bad. Even she is influenced by gettin famous by famous people and also spiritual people. According to me , conscious means if you are aware what you are doing , you will never do wrong, even if we have a motivator behind a person or parents , its perfectly fine as long as the motiator is genuine . Even in bhagavad gita or mahabharatha , children are sent for education to asses their intrest and also to motiate young kids in right directions. Good parening means , dont selfish to children point of view. She is just making mountain out of mole.

I agree. Mountain of a mole heap. Subjective experience making it universal and uncontextualised …
