i was in the middle of researching a moderately priced inkjet printer and foil transfer machine, feeling defeated that i'd have to spend so much money... and then here you are!!! this is awesome!!!
Love the idea of a "frugal crafter" it's not possible to just keep throwing money at the hobby and such a relief to find someone who understands that thank you. Love the tips in the video will be using them!
I want to come live in your craft room for a few weeks and just have you show me all your tools!! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge in a fun and frugal way!! I am always so happy when I search for a technique and find out you have a video on it. I know I will enjoy it.
I recently found a jar of variegated flakes I've had for 15yrs and planned to play with it. Glad to know it doesn't spoil. Also glad to know the Mink rolls can be used without the Mink or laminator cuze I refuse to buy more equipment. But did notice JoAnns still has jars of flakes for sell & can use coupons there for extra savings. Yippee!! Thanks for the daily lesson! Hope you feel better soon. And no your voice was not irritating.
never thought about using the spare sticky to stick on card bases and other things, will be saving it in future. I bought the big sticky sheets for use with foil and I love them.
Since you are the frugal crafter, I thought you would like this idea. I saw on a RUclips video that some people were making toner paint so they wouldn’t have to use their printer. I made toner paint with one tablespoon of PPA glue and 5 little scoops of toner on the end of a popsicle stick. I stirred it really well and painted it on a sheet of cardstock. I cut out shapes for foiling. I found out you can use that toner paint for stamping and foiling!! It works perfectly. It also washes right off the stamps and doesn’t stain them. Make a video about that! You will love it!
Thank you for this! I was considering a Minc, but since I don't have a laser printer I was hesitant because it is limited to their designs unless you use a toner-based printer. You saved me a boatload of money!
I didn't want to buy one of those new machines and this is a perfect way to do this technique. I have the Cricut, the tape and even the sheets, so I am going to make some cute bd cards for some of my great nieces and nephews. Again thank you!
Riki, no I haven't tried this yet on my Cricut. If I were you I would call Cricut and ask their support team. They have answered all kinds of my crazy questions over the past...lol I am sorry I couldn't help you as I have had so much going on lately, I have had to put my projects on hold for a bit. Good luck and let me know if they helped you..Cricut also has a site on fb and you could ask one of the ladies on there if they could help you..I am not sure what you meant by "ashes on my sheets" anyway, good luck!
Lindsay, I just went to Craft Chameleon to buy some sheets and I just want to double check with you. It's the 10"x12" sheets in quantity of 5. The adhesive that I can glue to cardstock and still have the adhesive I can put foil or micro beads. Thanks ahead of time for your help and this video.
Absolutely wonderful! Been looking for a way to do this without having to use heat laminating. I love the way using the tape and sheets work. I have a very small crafting area to work in and I don't really want extra equipment that only does pretty much only one thing. I love your crafting ideas. So glad I found your videos. Thank you for sharing. ❤️👏🏻❤️
I have just bought a pack of foils at the pound shop so it is great to see I can use them without having to put it through my laminator, so thank you so much for this informative and inspiring video, hugz, Anne xx
hi Lindsey, I missed this one it slipped through my net, really enjoyed, I have a class these days with young adults learning difficulties and this would make a great options for valentines cards for them to make which is the end of the week so a timely from me and thanks as always. Hope you the family and the gang are all OK regards as always Paul from London
Thanks so much for this video. I recently discovered I can use foil without a machine and was delighted to find you have a video on the techniques. I know you will show me how-to in an easy to follow, frugal way. JoAnn had some foil on clearance and I am having such fun with this shiny new material to add to my projects. ~Marilee
Thanks for this how-to video! I really wanted to try/do this but I didn't want to buy a laminator as they are so expensive. This great idea will allow me to give it a whirl without losing to much money, especially if I don't like it afterwords. Always love your videos, thanks a lot Lindsay!
I've seen laminators for as low as 20$ but I love the idea of using the foil without one as well. good way to start while I buy a laminator but still plan on getting it . the laminator is good for printing your own designs if you wanted some designs from online.

Wow another wonderful idea! Not keen on buying the foiling matching here ($200 AUD just silly) but I got some cheap foil on blitsy. Can't wait to try this!
Fabulous video!! I was going to try the laminator version (still might) but you are right you do get more bang for your buck using this method. Love it!!
I like this but I was wondering if you could use a craft iron ? Because I have a tape that is heat activated and was wondering if it might work better?
Oh my!! Lol!! I have a roll of the foil you used on the adore card!! I bought it awhile ago!! I thought it was thin metal sheet rolled up! LOL!! WELL THATS COOL I HAVE SOME!! LOL!!
Hi Lindsay.I love this effect, could I get the same effect using an ordinary big shot die cut machine to cut the sticky back paper,or would I need the cricut machine.I am in the uk,so not 100% sure if I can find the products over here, but I am so loving how this foiling looks,I really like the card you made,so classy. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video! I have some of that sticky paper and keep forgetting I can use it for foil. My foil is about 15 years old but it still looks good so I'm going to try it!
Great ideas Lindsay!!! I'm kicking myself right now......years and years ago I used to use a similar foiling product for clothing. I had a huge box left over after those days were done (and before I got into papercrafting 11 yrs ago) I think they went to a donation place. jeez, who knew it would 'come back' on paper?! heeheehee ;) I probably donated them about 15 years ago :0
Hi Lindsay, I just checked out the crafty chameleon adhesive link. Do you think this tape is a good quality frugal alternative to scor-tape? Is it as strong? Great vid Celina
+Deborah Anne you can with a heat and stick powder (I have a video on that too), you use it like an embossing powder but when you heat it it becomes tacky so you can press foil or leaf on it.
Oh, that looks like fun! I've never "foiled" before. That's what I love about your tutorials... I'm always learning something new to try. Thanks for all the awesome videos, Lindsay! And hope your throat feels better real soon. =)
AWESOME video...Full of FAB ideas and tips!!! Thank you sooo much. Am going to stoc up on foil...Please keep your vids coming...ALWAYS so helpful! Taylor:)
Thanks for such a great vid! I don't have a minc/etc or toner printer so I've never done much with foil. But I have a bunch I got on clearance ;). Also like the idea of using the tape bits to adhere the card base.
Hi love your creative ideas! I asked another RUclips user the same question but wanted your opinion. I'm new to scrapbooking and am ready to purchase a sizzix machine do you recommend an electric or manual? Which one do you use the most? This will be my first scrapbooking purchase Thanks
Hi Lindsay, Thank you for a great video, with those foils, I love your card, Have you every thought every doing a video with your electric cutting machine? I have a Portrait machine had it for about 4 months and love it, of cause still learning but a lot of fun, Cheers Anna.
So loved these projects!! I have Stacey Tape from Scrapbooking Made Simple. You really put some new ideas out for me!! Love your 'waste not' attitude, like mine!! Cheers to the new year. Thanks for your emails & blog, too~Marsha
Lindsay, I have found that the Heidi Swapp foil, once applied in one of these ways (without heat), seems to be tacky to the touch, have you found that, & if so, what can be done about it? (So far, I've just applied glossy accents over anything I've foiled, which seals it in.) Thank you for sharing!
Hi Lindsay, how cool! A lot better than having to get something printer by laser printer and then laminating. I think even I can manage this method with no problems :). Now I can look for reasonably priced foil and even look for faux gold/silver leaf. Thanks so much for showing us how to do this.I've got a frugal question for you...over the Christmas holidays I used a lot of tea lights so now have loads of the little metallic holders the wax is poured into. Any ideas if they can be used in a crafty way??Bejay x
Hi Lindsay, I love your channel! I have learned so much! I make a play list and listen to your videos (and sometimes sneak peaks as I can) while at work. When I come home I go back through the ones I want to try right away and watch them. I have a question about the foil though. Do you need a certain type of foil? I have various types laying around I was hoping to put to use, but I can't get it to work. Some are some old mylar foil balloons that I have left over and was hoping to find a good use for it. I also have some other foils but none work. If these types don't work, any good ideas of what I could use these old balloons for? Thanks much! Becky
Hey Lindsay, I've been going nuts trying to find the exact same watercolor mop brush (white bristles) that you used in this video. PLEASE, PLEASE share the make, model number and/or size of this brush and, if you recall, where you got it. A million, gazillion thanks!! As always, LOVE the tips! 💖😉
Great video, I love the foiling effect but don't have a lam. machine so this is a perfect answer for me. Thank you so much. 1 have to find your videos for my daily dose of Lindsay Logic.

Wonder if that would would on glass stones to make pendants instead of using nail polish. Looks so pretty.
Thank you Lindsay, I bought the Go foil machine, and have never used it.I have been looking for some way to foil without using any machine.
Would an inking brayer help apply the film firmly? I love all of the ideas you shared; thank yoy!
I need to try that with my old foil and leafing also. Thanks for the wonderful video and beautiful card!
That is awesome! I have some old foils too. I just never used them much so yay for stuff comming back in fashion.

Great to know I can have fun with the foils without the heat! Very helpful information! Feel better soon! 👍🏼
Great idea to use the scraps of tape, I never would have thought of that, It would have gone into the bin! Frugal all the way!! :D xx
I think your way of doing this is great and less expensive. Thank you:-)
Fabulous video!! I was going to try the laminator version (still might) but you are right you do get more bang for your buck using this method. Love it!!

Hi Lindsay,
I just checked out the crafty chameleon adhesive link. Do you think this tape is a good quality frugal alternative to scor-tape? Is it as strong?
Great vid
Celina
Beautiful work! So this is a two way stick paper? I would need to die cut an image, correct, no way to stamp and image and gold leaf it?
+Deborah Anne you can with a heat and stick powder (I have a video on that too), you use it like an embossing powder but when you heat it it becomes tacky so you can press foil or leaf on it.
Thanks Lindsay, I will look up that video to watch.
Thanks for the alternative to using a laminator. Love the adore!
So glad I found this. I wonder if I can use this trick on a candle.
Thanks Lindsay, great tips.
Oh, that looks like fun! I've never "foiled" before. That's what I love about your tutorials... I'm always learning something new to try. Thanks for all the awesome videos, Lindsay! And hope your throat feels better real soon. =)

What a great idea! Would this technique work on glass?
Thanks for such a great vid! I don't have a minc/etc or toner printer so I've never done much with foil. But I have a bunch I got on clearance ;). Also like the idea of using the tape bits to adhere the card base.
AN important question. How do you get the glue off your stamp?
Great projects Lindsay!! Thanks for sharing!

Great adhesive sheets. Great price too. TFS....Chris
Thank you for the inspiration and information. I have been looking for this exact type of tape, it sounds perfect !

I have a cricut explorer air. What setting do you recommend?
+Riki I use setting 4 (out of 6) on my expression, it is as think as cardstock.

+Becky H you need transfer foil, I'm not sure what to use the balloons for, mabe cut it up for glitter or shred it for table decorations at parties?
Thank you for your quick reply Lindsay. I will get some of that foil. Looks like so much fun!
Okay, to clarify, you were able to use this adhesive with both your electronic and manual die cuts?
+weditt yes, the flourishes were metal dies, the word adore was an electronic die cut or you could cut out a design with scissors or xacto knife:)
Thank you so much!
