Great stuff, my background was in judo before moving to BJJ and leglockers were a puzzle for a while and still are but I love working on passing on their entanglements
@@moDLuffy taking down someone is a much more useful skill. How are you gonna use your jiu jitsu if you can’t get the guy to the ground? Besides, just because certain judo moves are banned in competition doesn’t mean you can’t do them in practice. @@hellotcautiver true but almost every bjj round starts on the feet so I get to do judo as well and continue…. It fun to see that they know their only option is to pull guard in me hahaha
@@moDLuffy yeah but eventually you’ll end up being more of a ground specialist than a takedown specialist because you’re going to spend more time doing one thing over the other
I remember that Gordon was asked once in an interview that what was going to happen when the rest of the competitors will catch up with their leg lock system. He just said we will take their back, probably referring to these entrances
I believe he was referring to the dilemma between attacking the legs and back exposure, from the same player. In this case, here, back takes are used as a counter to the leg attacks. I may be mistaken as to what Gordon meant, of course
Remember that in the 2 fights that Gordon Ryan lost to Felipe Pena it was because Gordon insisted on attacking the legs and Felipe Pena responded with a berinbolo, submitting him by RNC
very nice, haven't added that technique yet. I always control their ankles and if it happens that we get entangled I stay glued to them on top with insane pressure. I haven't been caught in leglocks in years.

I’ll never understand why Americans think it’s pronounced “Lack-lin” like they haven’t ever seen that name before.
Frankly, I have not. I dont think its popular here in the states. But I've always pronounced it correctly.
Lived all over the United States my whole life, and have never met anyone named Lachlan. That being said, I say it correctly.
