I was actually half-tempted to just remake the intro, but then I realized I'd have to go back and buy MekaRamen's Summoner and that's another $20 USD. I still might return to the idea in the future.
The scenario here is actually just a Trial of Refusal because a Khan didn't like the name of the Operation for the Timber Wolves that would have to fight the Timberwolves for control of the timber wolf production rights. The Pre-Pre Battle before the actual battle. It's amazing that the Clans can get anything done.
@@MacsLore The bidding must have been something to behold! "I bid a Star of Timber Wolves" "Neg, I bid i trinary of Tiber Wolves and a Mad Dog!" "Seyla! Well bargained and dome!" - Love the animation, by the way! Good old Timby is a Mech thats just as pretty in it's OG form as in the re-designs, imho.
@MacsLore this was followed by the timberwolf refusal trial, where they challenged the results of the timberwolves fighting the timberwolves for control of the timberwolf production rights by having more timberwolves fight timberwolves outside the primary timberwolf production facility.
I don't care what anyone says. The Timber Wolf Mad Cat is the face of Mechwarrior franchise. Atlas lovers can bite my 2 15-LRMS, PPCs, and autocannons at point blank range!
Ah, the nostalgia man ^^ Brings me back to when I was 10, and my adult cousin came by inserting a certain CD into our computer with a particular vehicle with a robotic design printed on it.
The first computer I ever bought was in 1996 with money I saved working part time in high school. That IBM Aptiva came with a game. MechWarrior 2 Ghost Bear's Legacy. That game got me into PC gaming. This video reminds me of that so much. I love it!
The biggest problem with newer Mechwarrior games is that they are completely lacking the atmosphere of Mechwarrior 2. The music, the desolate harsh planets, clans, the proper computer voice.
I think the setting has a lot to do with it. MW2 felt alien since Clans are basically extragalactic invaders. MW3 was tied by budget but managed to pull off a unique atmosphere. MW4 and MW5 went the MW2:Mercs route and went for grungier metal themes for the inner sphere. It seems MW5 Clans will be bringing back atmospheric music a-la-MW2
I see Mechs, I hit like ^_^ That looked pretty good. The left, right motion of the Timberwolf that runs towards the camera looked a bit like the pilot can't decided who he should be targeting, like switching constantly from one to the other but for everything else. That was already pretty good. Have you seen the work from "Hired Steel" on youtube? When you need some referance on how to make mechs move. I think they did one of the best jobs in that regard. They also made the MW5 Clans teaser trailer with the MadCat dropping that had awesome movement animatoin. Anywayy you are on the right track. This looked better then a lot of stuff for mech animation I have seen.
Yeah the excessive swaying was kind of an issue for shooting. The fight scene was supposed to be more extended but I couldnt get it to look like they were shooting at a focused point. I'm sure there's an actual solution that involves edting the animations built for it, given enough time and banging my head against Blender. And yeah I have seen Hired Steel. They're even doing occasional work for BPL/TTB now.
@@MacsLore My best guess is to give the hip more room to counterbalance the leg movement. Anyway I bet you do your very best. Just wanted to give some feedback so you can improve. Sadly I have no experiance in that field so I can point towards others work for ideas.
Timber Wolf? Over here in the Inner Sphere we call it the Mad Cat. Legend has it its because the first time it was spoted, the mech ID system couldnt decide if it was a Marauder or a Catapult. But thats just hearsay, we call it the Mad Cat cause it makes clanners mad! ^^ (That, and seeing it get wrecked in Solaris Arena fights)
@@MrJack556 And you would be mostly right, my BT lore knowledge kinda ends after Tukayyid but I do vaguely remember reading that Clan Wolf managed to take Terra like 100 years later or so. Clanners still lost to Space AT&T though, and thats a shame that can never be erased ^^

Eww you have the old Spaghetti arms version. If you're not aware the Timber Wolf got a redesign with blockier, and far sturdier looking arms that don't look like they'll fall off the moment you breathe on them.. Good animation though, reminds me of the Mech Warrior 2 intro.
You know the arms/shoulders move just like a human? It is huge misconception that the everything is "robot movement". It is not. That is what the myomer bundles do. They act as a humans muscle.
