I've always thought they could make a musical out of this album. "Be Calm" reminds me so much of the opening to Beauty and the Beast. A lot of the other songs would work great within a story as well.
Writing almost a decade later, I believe I’ve read somewhere that Nate Ruess very much was inspired by Queen especially on AAI pieces like the this song and the Gambler. It gets more obvious in “Some Nights” with the eponymous song as well as with “We are Young” and “Carry On.” I guess they just really like Baroque pop and Anthem Rock.

I was standing around, watching everyone wind down for the night and I was hit with this deep heavy feeling of life being so real in that moment. I hadn’t felt that in years. My memory gets so foggy sometimes but in one thought I felt that everything would eventually be okay and real and that life is filled with emotions and the happy ones will always be there. Right after I had the need to listen to this song. I don’t listen to it that much, not as much as other fun songs but I feel like this song embodies my feelings right now. Life is full of love and it’s nice and it’s real. Everything’s okay.
This song for some reason gives off so much nostalgia and innocence. Taking me back to when I was a baby my mom and I would pick flowers in the spring, make a leaf bundle around fall go to the petting zoo's look at the animal's. god I just love this song. I want to get married to this song and have the same experience with my child and husband :) ❤
I saw them live last night. It was the best concert I think I have ever been to. They are so talented. They sounded even better live then they do on the albums!

In a perfect world, fun. comes back, even just to perform one final show, but I know that's a very low chance. Wish Nate, and the other members the best.
I totally agree! One of the best parts about fun. is how different each of their songs sound. So if they used autotune, it was just purely for the effect of making the song sound different. Which I'm thankful, because it seems like I'm listening to the same song every time I turn on the radio, unless it's fun.

Love hearing it, love singing it. There aren’t enough songs that focus less on making a catchy chorus and instead go for proper substance.
