I love the moment at 1:41 where you can hear him smiling on the "sandwich" line. It's very hard to resist smiling along. Little connections. Humanity is cool like that sometimes.

I would recommend you to listen to Queen's song 'Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy' if you want another feels like this :)
Writing almost a decade later, I believe I’ve read somewhere that Nate Ruess very much was inspired by Queen especially on AAI pieces like the this song and the Gambler. It gets more obvious in “Some Nights” with the eponymous song as well as with “We are Young” and “Carry On.” I guess they just really like Baroque pop and Anthem Rock.
I first discovered their songs in 2012.. a decade later and this is still my favorite.. ❤️

I've always thought they could make a musical out of this album. "Be Calm" reminds me so much of the opening to Beauty and the Beast. A lot of the other songs would work great within a story as well.

I was standing around, watching everyone wind down for the night and I was hit with this deep heavy feeling of life being so real in that moment. I hadn’t felt that in years. My memory gets so foggy sometimes but in one thought I felt that everything would eventually be okay and real and that life is filled with emotions and the happy ones will always be there. Right after I had the need to listen to this song. I don’t listen to it that much, not as much as other fun songs but I feel like this song embodies my feelings right now. Life is full of love and it’s nice and it’s real. Everything’s okay.

This song for some reason gives off so much nostalgia and innocence. Taking me back to when I was a baby my mom and I would pick flowers in the spring, make a leaf bundle around fall go to the petting zoo's look at the animal's. god I just love this song. I want to get married to this song and have the same experience with my child and husband :) ❤

I will never understand how this album is so perfect
honestly, I don't like the fact that fun. has split up, and that Nate isnt making music anymore (that we know of). But it is for the better of them all. I'll admit, I haven't been a fan for a super long time, and only discovered this album about 2 years ago, but I appreciate it so much, every single song on aim and ignite means so much to me, and this will forever be one of my top albums of all time. In a perfect world, fun. comes back, even just to perform one final show, but I know that's a very low chance. Wish Nate, and the other members the best.

anyone watching this in 2019? it brings back a lot of painful memories but i needed to hear it.
God, I swear I can't get myself to hate, or even at least not like, a song of theirs.
Since where I come from doesn't have a copy of the album anywhere (I've searched everywhere, but to no avail D:), I will just have to go on RUclips everyday to hear their songs! :-)

I just started listening to this band, but when the piano in the beginning of this song, I could containing my beaming. It is so wonderful to hear newer bands playing the piano as a main instrument; unfortunately not a lot of bands do that anymore, it seems. This song has a very old fashioned feel, but it is an altogether beautiful song. :)
I totally agree! One of the best parts about fun. is how different each of their songs sound. So if they used autotune, it was just purely for the effect of making the song sound different. Which I'm thankful, because it seems like I'm listening to the same song every time I turn on the radio, unless it's fun.
This song reminds me of days when life was simple in comparison to today, but myself and a few friends seemed to light a Roman candle and shoot them at each other.

One of those verses that you know came to the writer all at once just by how smooth it flows. And that final jump is just fucking mmmm 👌🏼. Love hearing it, love singing it. There aren’t enough songs that focus less on making a catchy chorus and instead go for proper substance.
God I miss these guys so much. Both albums were my absolute favorites and they were the first real concert I ever went to.

This song makes me think of beaches, and bar B Q's. And spending time with a certain beautiful lady that I had spent most of last summer with( and most of last year). lol. Were no longer together, but it was great while it was great. And this song brings out those great memories. I hope I have more to come, better ones to add to the feel of this song. Never heard of this band, saw them last night opening for a more famous band. Fun easily outperformed them. They have tons of emotion and passion live.
