It's nice to hear, people do seem to be coming around finally!! I absolutely loved Timothy Dalton's Bond when they came out, especially Licence to Kill, and could never understand the mixed reception. I just HATE though how cheery Felix Leiter is at the end of LTK... that has always pissed me off!!!

Good list. I would change the position of a few and would swap out Skyfall for Live and Let Die which although flawed I find it more rewatchable than say the more recent offerings. Yaphet Kotto is a great villian and the theme song is one of the best.
I'm less mad at this list than I expected to be. Skyfall is my #1 though, so it's hard to see it way down in 7th place. I'm happy to see both of Dalton's films on the list, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Great list - and I'm so happy to see OHMSS on it... which, in addition to being a great Bond film, has one of the best endings of any movie I've seen. In addition, Tracy has such spirit - She's more than a match for James. This may be the best script of all Bond films.
Totally agree with no 1. Was my go to favourite if I was ever asked. The last few minutes alone seals it for me. And without saying too much, I really liked the new one
I totally agree re OHMSS, I love that film. I think a lot of people prob aren't aware the mountain top base 'Piz Gloria' is actually a real place you can visit. It's a revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn mountain in Switzerland & has a Bond exhibit and a bunch of other Bond themed stuff to do.
Lazenby pushed his self-glorifying "I am the star" at the Director, who snapped, "You are not the star because you say... or because I say... but because the *public* says you are the star."
I love Daniel Craig as Bond, but Pierce Brosnan was the perfect Bond. He was beautiful, charismatic, and smart. Even in his lesser films he felt like James Bond just having a bad day.
Frankly, I consider 'On Your Majesty's Secret Service' one of the weakest entries in the franchise. It's just fine. In the case of 'Moonraker', it's just absurd silliness. They're both just ok.
Surprised at the number one but great list objectively speaking. My top 10 best films probably includes 80-90% of those films. Here’s my favorites tho: 10. The Living Daylights 9. The World Is Not Enough 8. Goldfinger 7. You Only Live Twice 6. Skyfall 5. Tomorrow Never Dies 4. The Spy Who Loved Me 3. License To Kill 2. Casino Royale 1. Goldeneye
Just watched No Time To Die last night. Absolutely loved it. But because of the way it ends, I don’t think I’ll find it nearly as rewatchable as anything else in my top 10 but as far as favorites, it’s in my top 10 somewhere in the back half.
Another great episode and I have to agree that "On Her Majesty's.." is a much under-rated and under-appreciated Bond film. Lazenby is great and Diana Rigg adds so much to the film. Thanks so much for inspiring me to revisit this Bond classic that I had dismissed as a kid because Connery wasn't in it.
Majesty's has grown on me over time. I always wished Bond would of been played by Michael Caine. Caine was hot in 1969, with Italian Job and Battle of Brittain and the thought of him as 007 in a movie with Telly Savalas and Diana Rigg would of been awesome. To bad Caine didn't want to do it.
I agree with the choices & appreciate the rationalization for said choices. I just think the order wasn't what I expected. I would have put FRWL as #1 & OHMSS as #2
NO NO NOOO.. From what I've read Dalton was most like Fleming's vision of Bond, that is until Craig came along. They're both more serious in their roles and have more generic appearances, able to blend into crowds easier, just like real agents are able to do.
Christopher Nolan said On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was his favorite bond movie, and Timothy Dalton was his favorite bond to play it, because it’s as close character as the books were written. He said it in his interview for BBC.
OHMSS is the Bond fan's Bond movie. Sort of like how a comedians comedian tells much more darker humor than most of the public is used to. The general public wouldn't really get why it's so good, but if you're a big fan of the series, you understand just how well crafted it is.
OHMSS is indeed my favourite by far as well! So happy so see this placement! Thrilled to see TLD on this list as well. SO HAPPY that LALD is not on this list - that movie is so overrated.
Yes. OHMSS is my favourite film. I thought Lazenby was great, just sorry it didn't work out for him. The story, the action. Diana Rigg. With this in mind you should love No Time to Die.
Now I know why Christopher Nolan said On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was his favorite bond movie, and Timothy Dalton was his favorite bond to play it, because it’s as close character as the books were written. He said it in his interview for BBC.
It seems like most critics love OHMSS. I am a bond fan, but never could get into that one, and find some of the newer films dull as they’re clearly trying to be our generation's OHMSS - looking at you Specter and No Time To Die. The bond formula is best for me when they’re episodic adventures.
Don't feel sorry. OHMSS is not even a good movie. People started to put it on their lists just recently to feel special. Fans never liked it. "It has great script" ... no it does not. Lazenby was ok but the rest was just awful. A bland soap opera. There is a reason why it was considered to be the worst Bond movie up till few years back. Now everyone is into emo Bond so they overrated this one as well. The first emo Bond so it must be the best....
A View to a Kill, is my favorite, along with most of the ones released in the late 70's early 80's. I got to meet Grace Jones, Tanya Roberts, Roger Moore, and the guys from "Power Station," John Taylor and Andy Taylor ( Duran Duran.) We cut school to be on the steps of City Hall in SF, for what Feinstein declared as 007 Day. I cried so hard meeting the boys from Duran Duran . I was THAT fan.😂 I still have a pin the the director gave me.
Mine; 1. Goldeneye 2. Casino Royale 3. Goldfinger 4. License to kill 5. On her Majesty's secret service 6. Live and let die 7. From Russia with love 8. Skyfall 9. Living day lights 10. The man with the golden gun (I know this comes up on most worst of lists but I love it and Scaramanga is one of my favourite Bond villains)
My list: 10. For your eyes only 9. Thunderball 8. The spy who loved me 7. No time to die 6. Goldeneye 5. Goldfinger 4. From Russia with love 3. On her majesty’s secret service 2. Casino Royale 1. Skyfall
I'm a fan of my friends observation on "You Know My Name" is "M"'s song, not Bond. It reads like M telling Bond that he's not expected to last and will be replaced with little remorse.
I'm biased towards Brosnan since he's the one I grew up with. Goldeneye is the best Brosnan film all-around, but I always had a soft spot for TWINE. I'd say his acting performance is better in that one but some of the other elements aren't quite there.
my top 10: #1 Goldfinger 1964 #2 From Russia With Love 1963 #3 Casino Royale 2006 #4 DR.NO 1962 #5 The Spy Who Loved Me 1977 #6 License To Kill 1989 #7 Skyfall 2012 #8 Thunderball 1965 #9 Goldeneye 1995 #10 The living daylights 1987
Great List! I disagree with the order of the movie's though My top ten: 1- Goldfinger 2 - From Russia With Love 3 - The Spy Who Loved Me 4 - Skyfall 5 - Goldeneye 6 - License to Kill 7 - For Your Eyes Only 8 - Cassino Royale 9 - The Living Daylights 10 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service I agree that ONHMSS is great, but for me it doesn't work so well. I mean, that whole part that Bond is dubbed while playing Sir Hilary Bray is terrible.... And also he jumping from bed to bed while he's supposed to be in love with Tracy and married her at the end doesn't work also.
An Objective (ish) Top 10: 10. _On Her Majesty's Secret Service_ 9. _Thunderball_ 8. _The Spy Who Loved Me_ 7. _You Only Live Twice_ 6. _Goldeneye_ 5. _Casino Royale_ 4. _Skyfall_ 3. _The Living Daylights_ 2. _Goldfinger_ 1. _From Russia With Love_ Personal Top 5: 5. _Skyfall_ 4. _Moonraker_ 3. _The Man With The Golden Gun_ 2. _The Living Daylights_ 1. _From Russia With Love_
I would have to contend the top two placings. Casino Royale was for me personally the best bond film. A great list though, with Moore being best when the films were less silly and over the top. Connery being the first and maybe best bond. Dalton for me should have had at least another two films, but alas was great in the two he had. Brosnan deserved better, but Sean Bean was exceptional as the villain. For me personally I think Craigs bond was my favourite, Skyfall and Casino being outstanding. Again, great choices!!!
Thank you for putting OMHSS as number one! Brilliant thinking, I'd also like to mention that there are three entries on this list by John Glen who is my favourite James Bond Director. Could we have a top 10 James Bond directors list?
14:21 The only thing I have any real problems with here is the mention that Lazenby wasn't really given the chance to continue as Bond, when it is pretty well documented he turned down the chance to continue even having been offered a multi-picture contract. You Only Live Twice 9. For Your Eyes Only 10. Thunderball

My top 3 would be: 1. FRWL, 2. Casino Royale 3. OHMSS. The rest I pretty much agree with, just in different order. Maybe trade in Daylights and Skyfall for YOLT and Thunderball, depending on my mood. Or the day of the year...
# 1 Goldfinger # 2 Casino Royale # 3 Skyfall # 4 Goldeneye # 5 The Spy Who Loved Me # 6 For Your Eyes Only # 7 From Russia With Love # 8 Licence to Kill # 9 On Her Majesty's Secret Service # 10 Live and Let Die I guess I might shuffle the above a bit although my Top 2 are set in concrete - and no I haven't seen No Time To Die, so that could change the rankings a bit. OHMSS is the Bond fan's Bond movie. Sort of like how a comedians comedian tells much more darker humor than most of the public is used to. The general public wouldn't really get why it's so good, but if you're a big fan of the series, you understand just how well crafted it is.
I can’t believe it’s over, such a fun ride!
Im really glad you have goldeneye in your top 10 and dalton movies too.
Thank you so much JoBlo. I’ve been loving your JB revisited videos. Great work!
I always have felt that Moore was my overall fave with Connery being an almost tie. But Dalton and Goldeneye Brosnan are right up there.
Moore is the Elvis of the Bond franchise. He took it to superstardom.
OHMSS is indeed my favourite by far as well! So happy so see this placement! Thrilled to see TLD on this list as well. SO HAPPY that LALD is not on this list - that movie is so overrated.
Wise decision for On Her Majesty Service
Mine;
1. Goldeneye
2. Casino Royale
3. Goldfinger
4. License to kill
5. On her Majesty's secret service
6. Live and let die
7. From Russia with love
8. Skyfall
9. Living day lights
10. The man with the golden gun (I know this comes up on most worst of lists but I love it and Scaramanga is one of my favourite Bond villains)
Wow, I can't believe Skyfall didn't crack the top 10. I'd almost swap it out for OHMSS except Goldfinger is my number 1.
No. 7 ?
Skyfall is #7 buddy
@@mitchwoolnough3509 I must've blinked, thanks!
My list:
10. For your eyes only
9. Thunderball
8. The spy who loved me
7. No time to die
6. Goldeneye
5. Goldfinger
4. From Russia with love
3. On her majesty’s secret service
2. Casino Royale
1. Skyfall
Love this series !! Bond rules !!
Julian GLOVER not Grey... Great video again as usual!
My bad
Fair list. Agree with #1 for sure.
Dalton is still my favourite portrayal and licence to kill is my fav bond film. OHMSS is easily in my top 5.
"MOONRAKER" is one of the first "James Bond" Movies I saw as a younger.
It should be on the list! Or else...
Came faster than jo bloing his loads to watch the vid
Sean Connery is my favorite Bond, but The Spy Who Loved me has everything I Iove in a James Bond movie!
TOTALLY AGREE! Love On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Craig is my favorite, but such a soft spot for this one.
Having seen no time to die, I can categorically say it will make your top 10! 👍 ......yes it's that good!
I totally agree with your top, I would only swap OHMSS & CR but apart from the I loved it!!
I am so happy for number 1! Always told everyone about this movie, but nobody ever listend ;)
My top 5 would be ..1.Goldfinger 2 Goldeneye 3 The Spy Who loved me 4 The Living daylights 5 O H M S
I'm a fan of my friends observation on "You Know My Name" is "M"'s song, not Bond. It reads like M telling Bond that he's not expected to last and will be replaced with little remorse.
Christopher Nolan- Robert Pattinson- Trent reznor. A moonraker remake/ reimagining
Saw the new Bond yesterday, I don't think it would make it on this list, though any Bond fan should watch it.
Top 5:
1. Casino Royale
2. The living daylights
3. Skyfall
4. Goldfinger
5. No time to die
I'm biased towards Brosnan since he's the one I grew up with. Goldeneye is the best Brosnan film all-around, but I always had a soft spot for TWINE. I'd say his acting performance is better in that one but some of the other elements aren't quite there.
my top 10:
#1 Goldfinger 1964
#2 From Russia With Love 1963
#3 Casino Royale 2006
#4 DR.NO 1962
#5 The Spy Who Loved Me 1977
#6 License To Kill 1989
#7 Skyfall 2012
#8 Thunderball 1965
#9 Goldeneye 1995
#10 The living daylights 1987
You guys should do a Top 10 Bond songs, though I understand that may be out of the scope of this channel
Great List! I disagree with the order of the movie's though
My top ten:
1- Goldfinger
2 - From Russia With Love
3 - The Spy Who Loved Me
4 - Skyfall
5 - Goldeneye
6 - License to Kill
7 - For Your Eyes Only
8 - Cassino Royale
9 - The Living Daylights
10 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service
I agree that ONHMSS is great, but for me it doesn't work so well. I mean, that whole part that Bond is dubbed while playing Sir Hilary Bray is terrible.... And also he jumping from bed to bed while he's supposed to be in love with Tracy and married her at the end doesn't work also.
Red Grant vs Odd Job is a fight I would have liked to have seen!!!! No weapons hand to hand combat only!!!!
Great list :-)

Goldfinger is my all time favorite Bond flick
Your editor is awesome. AND CORRECT!
Nick, is that you?
My top ten, chosen without much thought: 1. Casino Royale 2. Goldfinger 3. The Spy Who loved Me 4. Skyfall 5. The Living Daylights 6. From Russia with Love 7. Tomorrow Never Dies 8. You Only Live Twice 9. For Your Eyes Only 10. Thunderball
Moonraker is top three
Great Job on the Rankings...Not so sure about your #1 but its a good list none the less..
Thanks so much!
1 : dr no
2 : from russia with love
3 : goldfinger
4 : you only live twice
5 : at her majesty's secret service
6 : the spy who love me
7 : the living daylights
8 : licence to kill
9 : tomorrow never dies
10 : skyfall
honorable mentions :
for your eyes only
goldeneye
casino royal
My top 3 would be: 1. FRWL, 2. Casino Royale 3. OHMSS. The rest I pretty much agree with, just in different order. Maybe trade in Daylights and Skyfall for YOLT and Thunderball, depending on my mood. Or the day of the year...
Nick the editor presents an interesting point: Every James Bond film is someone's favorite James Bond film.
# 1 Goldfinger
# 2 Casino Royale
# 3 Skyfall
# 4 Goldeneye
# 5 The Spy Who Loved Me
# 6 For Your Eyes Only
# 7 From Russia With Love
# 8 Licence to Kill
# 9 On Her Majesty's Secret Service
# 10 Live and Let Die
I guess I might shuffle the above a bit although my Top 2 are set in concrete - and no I haven't seen No Time To Die, so that could change the rankings a bit.
HM - Dr No, Thunderball
Fun Bond Movie - Moonraker for sure
Just gotta say, I grew up watching the original Avengers, Dianna Rigg was one of the most beautiful women when I was growing up. And still to this day. Watch the Ricky Gevais show Extra's with her and Dan Radclife, it is Awesome! Great list and I was pretty sure I knew #1 but then you nailed It!! Highly agree.
Kristatos in 'For Your Eyes Only' was played by Julian Glover, not Grey.
Definitely subjective. Interesting to see different points of view though.
"The Spy Who Loved Me" holds a special place in my heart, it was my "first" Bond film. "Tomorrow Never Dies" also has a special place, first Bond movie I saw in the theater.
All right, now do the Top 10 WORST Bond movies.
I agree The Spy Who Loved Me is one of my favorite Bond and was actually the first Bond film I saw as a kid with my cousin who had all of the Bond films on vhs at the time in 90s. I am a big Bond fan and have been since 8 years old in 95.
My Ranking is very similar, but No Time To Die is in my Top 3, and Octopussy is also in the Top 10. Timothy Dalton is very underrated, i like "The Living Daylights" and "Licence To Kill" so much. Nice to see you have also the 2 movies in the top 10
Perfect list! I might’ve put Licence to Kill up a couple of places, but your top five are also mine, albeit in different order
Top 10 i'd have to think more about, but top 5 for me are: Casino Royale > Goldfinger > Skyfall > Goldeneye > License To Kill
1. From Russia With Love 2. OHMSS (despite a mediocre Bond) 3. Casino Royale 4. Living Daylights 5. Goldeneye (despite a Bond with the dialogue and demeanour of a 13 year old boy).
