A look at setting up proper posture to maximize power in the discus throw as well as a quick clip of Casey Malone talking about the importance of nailing the standing throw or power position. Great overview for beginners as well as advanced throwers. It's easy to develop bad habits that get ingrained in your nervous system. Posture should be something that every thrower/coach focuses on.

I threw against Casey at the 1996 USATF Junior National Championships. Here was this guy who threw 177 in high school throwing 190+ as a college freshman. He obviously had really good coaching.

Hi Adan, Jeremy from TSTF here. Without watching your throw my best guess would be that you are pushing off of your right at the end and transferring all of your weight to the left. To help with this focus on really turning the right at the end rather than pushing off of it. We actually just filmed some videos that deal with this and will be posting in a few weeks at www.throwingsmarterthrowingfarther.com

Hi Mike, yes it does. The fundamentals for middle school are the same as high school, college and even world class throwers.

Thanks Emily, that is great to hear! We visited Brisbane and Sydney in 2017 for vacation and it was hands down the best country we've been to. Unfortunately, Coach Bedard's clinics don't go there but you never know.
