I saw NOFX years ago. Mike told more jokes than played music, and after 50 minutes, announced they had been playing for over an hour and needed a break. Bad Religion opened that night. Thank god they did, because NOFX, and Mike in particular, were shit. Never got my money back, but I also never listened to NOFX or anyone on Fat Wreck Chords again
That sucks. I dreamed about playing Got Something Sticking Outta My Eye for years in middle school. I ended up covering It's My Job To Keep Punk Rock Elite years later but I have also noticed something fishy. Green Day is more punk

Since I used to live w/the guy that was their main roadie and have met Mike as well as NOFX bassist, Eric, I`d throw in my 2 cents worth. 1st off, I would say that that whole bit about him coming from a "broken home" is a bunch of total BS. His parents are VERY well off and have never restrained from financing his pop-punk endeavors. As a matter of fact, I remember many years ago, how he put in $10K of familiy money to motivate punks to vote. 2nd, it should be mentioned how much of Mike`s motivation as a band frontman and label dude has to do with being a businessman, NOT a punk. That whole clip of him asskissing Commisioner Tick (what a appropiate name 4 a social parasite!) and all those lowlife, Vegas polishits is def VERY cringey and pathetic, Dan. Aside from the fact that I never saw Fat Mike as being very punk, I always thought his band was kinda sucky and weak AF.
Idk if it's just me, but I feel like punk has a disproportionate amount of rich kids who's parents paid for it all as opposed to metal or some other genres like that.
