I like the fact the ritual to restore someone to captain is impossible without four people. What good is a captain that can't inspire loyalty from their crew? Less of a fan of one of the crew having to be loyal enough to die as part of the challenge, but it makes sense for Klingons. Also, I like Mariner's line about the "Edict of Unreturned Favours" and being fed to a bear. That's the kind of thing that probably sounds perfectly reasonable to a Klingon warrior.
Honestly kinda assumed they’ve arranged Edict of [x] as a code phrase that ends in bears. With Mariner’s motormouth frequently being the cause of, and solution to, most of their problems would kinda make sense after four seasons.
15:19. The last thing Maar's brother say is that he is seeing Kahless, the original one, the one who made impressions. That references TOS episode The Savage Curtain, where Kirk & Co. met a bunch of historical characters (Abraham Lincoln, Surak of Vulcan, etc.) and Kahless, who used his ability to imitate other people's voices to create lots of trouble. Curious episode.
5:49 I'm honestly not sure what it means in Klingon but "Experience biJ!" is a reference to the Next Generation VHS board game (!) that came out in the 90s - easily one of the most obscure Lower Decks pulls yet.
Just noticed Mariner’s insane character growth here: when she first meets Ma’ah she doesn’t know why she’s fighting, and complains that Starfleet is supposed to be an organization of scientists who scan things to learn about them, not a military organization that forgets about science and demands sacrifice from its “soldiers”… here, Mariner spends the whole episode helping Ma’ah regain his honor from a military organization that is literally demanding a sacrifice, and not only do they manage to get around the sacrifice, but at the end we find out that the whole reason she helped Ma’ah at all (aside from just wanting to help her friend) was so she could scan something and learn about it.
Holy moly. How many videos have you had to remove today!? I noticed ONE for sure video that wasn't there, and I thought there was another (just woke up recently, so I'm not 100% there, still foggy brain :P ) EXCITED FOR THIS EPISODE REACTION!
I haven't seen anyone react to Migleemo's species being named quite ridiculously as the Klowahkan's here (sounds like cloaca) - did we already know that?
Update - at the beginning of the next episode's ups & downs, Seán says about this episode: "...some kind of references to parts of birds I wasn't really familiar with" So I guess at the time, the reference... flew over his head..? Sorry...
Something comes to mind, from an TOS episode. From the last line asked by Spock and then repeated by Kirk, "What of Lazarus....". Lazarus, was chasing himself and went mad. Could this be the same or another mad man?
This is just a pure guess from me, but I am hoping the one responsible for these rifts is somehow Boimler’s transporter clone William. We haven’t seen anything from him since he faked his death and joined Section 31.
Maybe William wants his old life back so is looking for a universe that's lost its Boimler, or is close enough that he could swap places with their Boimler without people noticing?
Don’t let this annoying Migleemoo subplot distract you from the fact that Ma’ah tanked getting stabbed in the spine while Worf was hit with an empty barrel and got paralyzed.
I really wonder whether whoever is creating these rifts is a good person or a bad person. At this point I have no clue, justhope that doesn't brings us back to the Mirror Universe. This is one of the most overused elements of the franchise. And, on another topic, you should watch Disco seasons 3 to 5. I like them a lot, and think you might too.

I also like that it's BS she's apparently used before and Boimler knew to go with it.

On one hand, it's great to have Tendi back in uniform. On the other hand, I do kind of miss her pirate outfit.

I'm a Trekkie since TOS and I had no idea about that game 🤣
@@amy_grace I think Trek Culture said it means punishment

Using Sam Witwer as…a bird food critic is wild
And Ma'ah's brother
Fun fact, Ma'ah's brother Ma'lor is voiced by Sam Witwer

If you don't recognise him, General K'orin appeared in Lower decks season 1 ep 2
The “assassins training” re Tendy’s knife skills is a “Long Kiss Goodnight” reference!!

This is my favorite episode of this new season so far
i love how much growth boimler has shown since the first episode where he had to deal with the giant spider
I haven't seen anyone react to Migleemo's species being named quite ridiculously as the Klowahkan's here (sounds like cloaca) - did we already know that?
I'm going to headcanon that its a translator error. After all, we sometimes call our planet Mother Earth, the birthplace of humanity.
No we didn't
I don't recall hearing it either. Basically they're "the assholes."
Update - at the beginning of the next episode's ups & downs, Seán says about this episode: "...some kind of references to parts of birds I wasn't really familiar with"

Sorry...
Love it thank you. And Not that I don’t love the name of this episode, but they could’ve gone with the “Targ day afternoon”
Nailed it!
That would've been a fantastic title, my friend!
Thank you for watching!
Yeah, I think this may be the best of the season so far.
If Lower Decks is still to end after 6 more eps, I still want a spinoff set on Ma'ah's Klingon ship

Maybe we'll see an alternate dimension where Chief O'Brien lived a nice, normal life on DS9 and wasn't traumatized every other week
Dishonour! Dishonour on you, dishonour on your targ, dishonour on your whole family!
Dr. Migleemo is cute!

i have a feeling it's in the trailer. don't watch it to avoid spoilers. minor spoiler, it's not boim's clone. it's a guest character.
I loved this episode so much
Mariner for the 🐔 block
Are we sure it's not the b○○b window?
Wonder if it could be The Great Kuala or Boimler's transporter duplicate.
Maybe both Boimlers will merge back into each other?
Bat'leths and bhi'nochs
Klingon’s baby
🎉
RIP Tony todd from all the star trek fandom kern son of mog and old jake sisko.
Not liking Miglemoo. Someone's being a pineapple.

I'm also not super fond of the B plot. eh
No T`Lyn? Illogical!
Some might say it's remarkable 😉
It's so easy not to like miglemoo
