Bikepacking Minneapolis West Day 1, Home to Baker Park Reserve (July 11, 2024) Trails, Paths & Lanes

- Julie and her sister Patty headed up to northern Wisconsin for a girls weekend with our daughter and granddaughter so I decided to take advantage of some free days and head out for a three day two night bikepacking trip from home through St Paul and Minneapolis to the western side of the twin cities. My first day of riding was from home on the east side of St Paul to Baker Park Reserve where I spend the night. I rode on so many trails, paths, and bike lanes that it would be hard to list them all. It was a wonderful 48 mile day of riding and I enjoyed my afternoon and evening at Baker Park Reserve.

Richard - did you make it to Carver park? Looking forwad to the next video since I bikepacked from my home down the Minnetonka Regional Trail to the drop-in bikecamping site over Labor Day weekend :)
I did make it and it was great. Wish we had more drop in bicycle campsites. There were only 4 of us on a Friday night but I think the heat scared people off. The video is set to release tomorrow morning. It is so wonderful to see people out bike packing in the twin cities, Baker Park was easy on a week night but would most likely be full on a weekend night. Thanks for watching!
@@RichardMooreAndJulieMoore Agree with the wish for more drop-in bicycle campsites and that Carver was great. Saturday of Labor Day weekend at the site we had a family with 3 kids, one single person from Edina, one single person from Andover and me :). Enjoyed sharing stories around a fire. Car campground was full.
