    Hi Ben, this is a great video. I am new to skateboarding (April 18) at 32 and I tried a Axel Stall drop in (as I am a wimp), I hung up and fell flat on my stomach and fractured my ribs. • @BusenBingoBalthasar
    @BusenBingoBalthasar Год назад

    Oh man great video, I've been doing the "powerslide up" for years on bigger ramps and I always thought I was weird and it was a bad habit that I needed to kick - because you can't use that technique on ramps with a pool coping that really sticks out. So I tried to force myself to do a clean turn to sort of pivot my way into the axle stall but the higher the ramp the more I slide up because I get scared, just like you explained :-)
    I still haven't gotten to the bottom of this but I think it has to do with speed as well... if you're going a little too slow then that slide-up helps, if you're going faster a clean turn might do, and if you're really fast you'll sometimes have to angle into the 50-50, just to go somewhere with the excess energy. It's odd, I've been doing this stuff for years but I still haven't figured it all out...
    I also agreee that it works better on 149s and decks above 8 inches but I never thought about the grind grooves helping you gain stability. One other thing that helped me were wheels with a more square side cut, so you're more confident in locking against the coping. On that note: Can anyone explain to me how to crosslock consistently? I tend to do heel-locked 50-50s which some people find more stylish but they're a bit unstable, too.

    For me, fs axle stall was a lot easier to learn. While doing the bs it happened really often that my front truck landed way behind the coping or I could not find the right balance at the top, probably because of leaning too much backwards. Obviously, coming back is much easier with the bs because you see where you are going to, but placing the tracks on the coping was a lot harder for me this way, specially when riding fast.

But I’m pulling muscles in my legs cause my body not use to it but having so much fun. Skating through the pain to get my body use to it I have no choice I’m sure after a few week or a month th it will go away. Also not to good at going down the ramp backwards anymore when I get high in the transitions want to learn fakie rock and roll but I guess I should learn the 50/50 stalls again first there easier for me

    I think I'm going to have to practice on a bank. Hopefully won't slide around too much. I got some ACE 66s.

      ErosV . There is a humming electric station right behind the bushes. I had to reduce the background noise to get rid of most of it but it made some of my words sound a little garbled. I'm not making another one any time soon though. How are you eros? How is your knee?

    Or you can just push back trucks outwards that’s what I’ve been told and it works
