We chose a gas 2003 Newmar Kountry Star for our first class A. We love it! It is in excellent condition with only 47K miles. We looked at a lot of junk, which solidified our reason for wanting a Newmar. Our first trip in it 2 weeks ago brought a lot of comments "you have a Newmar!". So happy with it. Glad you love yours!
So,we had our hearts set on a Tiffin 36UA,after watching your videos and some other research, we've settled on a Newmar Bay Star 3616,just for fun we went to look at a Holiday Rambler invicta,as soon as I saw the staples coming thru the trim,I was done and on top of that,the sales guy was an,,,,,well I'm sure you know,with any luck we'll be on the road by September,,thanks to both of you,SAFE TRAVELS !!!!!

Izzy & MJ - Grest video and you are tight on the money!! I'm on my second Newmar motorhome. I own a 40 ft 2007 Dutch Star diesel pusher. I have maintained it well and it looks like a much newer coach. I often get comments from people who can't believe it's that old. That speaks to how well the "Masterpiece" paint stands the test of time! Love Newmar quality! That being said, if my wallet was a bit fatter, I would buy a nice used Prevost! 🙃

I agree. In my research it came down between Newmar and Tiffin. I went with Newmar cause of the floor plan and the deal I got. I also leaned that way knowing your background with Newmar. I trusted your review of them and that gave them a big push. We love our Newmar. This is a great video and great point for someone looking. Thanks for the share.
The good insulation being quiet works both ways. My JRT is a barker if we don't/forget put her in her cage and you can't hear her barking more than 10 ft. away. A side note to the resale value, you do pay more for a Newmar upfront. Newmar's slogan says it all, "When you know the difference" .

We did a tremendous amount of research as well prior to purchasing our first motorhome and we settled on a Newmar Bay Star also. There is no comparison when you physically sit in them and open cabinet doors, feel counter tops, etc. They are just more solid and amazing quality. We are on year 2 with ours and we are THRILLED!
Great points. We love our Newmar 35 ft DP. We have not looked back since our purchase. Service has been fantastic. Can't wait to visit the main service center. Thanks for the reminder.

So you must have brought your unit from Albany RV One. I did the same thing but brought from Tampa RV One. My coach is a month old and so many things are wrong with it. I couldn't get any help from RV one in Albany. I have a 2020 Baystar 3124. I have contacted the company with little response so I am wondering if you have a way to contact them that worked? I am bringing my coach to Daves RV in Danbury to fix everything since its closer and they were willing to help me. How did you get so knowledgeable? Are you a mechanic? Your videos are great.
Hi Karen and welcome to the ERV Insiders. I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your coach. Would you mind sharing what they are? RV One should be taking care of the issues. Sometimes you have to be firm with dealers and manufacturers to get things done. I had to put put pressure on Newmar to approve work done outside my dealership because of an issue that never should have left the factory. They did pay for it. Hi Karen sorry to hear of these problems. Although they are frustrating they don’t seem to be huge problems to fix other than the HP. Our direct email is endlessrving@gmail.com. The dealer should have taken care of these issues at your PDI. Did everything work when you picked up coach? Call dealer and continue to hound them until these issues are taken care of. If not call Newmar and continue to hound them until issues are taken care of. Unfortunately RV’s will have issues all of them. I had to make 2 quick repairs this week on the road. No biggies but if we took to shop we would be off the road.

Marvin here. Great video and good information. I have a 2000 Winnebago Adventurer 37g. Looking at upgrading to either a Canyon Star 3710 or a Tiffin. Strongly leaning toward Newmar from Beckley's mainly for just about every reason you listed. My parents have owned a Dutch Star and now have a Mountain Aire. Very few issues. Still looking for class A gas; maybe the Bay Star 3609 now. What are your thoughts on the new Canyon Star front end diesel? Also, really did not have any issues with the Ford V10, any thoughts on the new Ford V8 7.3?
Hi Marvin I have not seen the new CS live. For us it would really depend on the price. If it’s mid 200’s I would not go near it because you can get so much more coach in a Ventana that is 1-2 years old. As for the ford V8 again have not seen live but sure it will be a nice upgrade. Thanks for watching the video. I believe this will not be the case. Newmar will continue to build high quality coaches. We believe the reason Winnebago bought was to get into the high end diesel market which they were not successful doing. No different than when they bought Grand Design which is now one of the best towable in the market. Entegra Coach makes diesel excellent coaches owned by Thor. As someone who currently works at Newmar, I can assure you that since the Winnebago buyout has occurred, they haven't really forced any sort of changes on Newmar's products. The head executive teams from Newmar have stayed with the company, and are still very much in charge of decisions made. Over time we will of course make changes using some Winnebago influence, and vice versa, but Newmar is still Newmar. Winnebago has given us almost complete autonomy in how we operate, and is mainly helping us to grow larger and have better funding and resources to better our products and facilities. Btw, awesome place to work. Best of luck to any Newmar owner's, glad I could take part in making it for you 😎

I bought my 2008 MA used as I didn't want all the emission equipment. It had a 2007 chassey. I got a nice quality coach for under $150,000 New replacement would be over $659,000. Think how you could spend the difference.

When it comes to floorplans, I have to disagree with you. I think that Thor has some of the better floorplans. But their overall build quality isn't there.

Hmmmn...Flexsteel quality? You say that now, wait. Our 2012 peeled horribly after the 3rd year and we weren't alone. You must not have seen the hundreds of complaints in blogs and on Newmar and Tiffin web sites, all having problems in their first few years. I'm guessing, yours being new, will last for a while but watch closely and report it as soon as you see any small signs of splits or flaking. After 3 years, they claimed it was not their problem.
It’s unfortunate you two have no idea what you are talking about. First why would anyone want a gas coach. Newmar makes a good product but not the best you failed to advise that Newmar has a one year warranty where Entegra as an example has a two year warranty. I wonder how much Newmar is paying you two.
We have done videos on why we chose a gas motorhome. The reasons are many. Entegra is nice also but their gassers are not the quality of Newmar or Tiffin in our opinion. If you have a contact at Newmar to get us paid, put us in contact.

Had a 2013 canyon star. Great rig but I had LOTS of problems with the steps, water pump. All broke within 2 yrs.

I will agree that they build an overall better product, but like Matt says, Newmar Coaches are over priced. You have to pay for quality.

When it comes to floorplans, I have to disagree with you. I think that Thor has some of the better floorplans. But their overall build quality isn't there.
Hmm Thor does have a ton of floor plans. We have looked at Thor gassers and they are not on the same playing field. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Hmmmn...Flexsteel quality? You say that now, wait. Our 2012 peeled horribly after the 3rd year and we weren't alone. You must not have seen the hundreds of complaints in blogs and on Newmar and Tiffin web sites, all having problems in their first few years. I'm guessing, yours being new, will last for a while but watch closely and report it as soon as you see any small signs of splits or flaking. After 3 years, they claimed it was not their problem.
Quality compared to furniture in other Class A Gassers. Is it the best no but so far no issues for us.

It’s unfortunate you two have no idea what you are talking about.
First why would anyone want a gas coach. Newmar makes a good product but not the best you failed to advise that Newmar has a one year warranty where Entegra as an example has a two year warranty.
I wonder how much Newmar is paying you two.
We have done videos on why we chose a gas motorhome. The reasons are many. Entegra is nice also but their gassers are not the quality of Newmar or Tiffin in our opinion.
If you have a contact at Newmar to get us paid, put us in contact.

Sorry....2nd place ain't bad. Tiffin #1! Even Matt's RVs will tell you that. You drank the Kool-aid when you visited Newmar.
What differentiates Tiffin over a Newmar?

David Richman I’m sure it’s good. But unfortunately, after 10 years you’re out of luck. Newmar will service any coach no matter what the age. - MJ
