I now wish I would have done the factory pickup would have been worth the extra money which can be negotiated at the dealership. You will end up with a better coach period.
Great video and info. We are new RVrs and our first coach is a 2003 Newmar Kountry Star which is in amazing shape. Good to know they will repair the older models, unlike other companies. We have an 08 Coachman toy hauler that needed extensive work and Forest River (who bought Coachman) wouldn't help us at all. So we ditched it and went for the coach! Looking forward to more videos from you guys.
Good day guys. First time viewer of your videos. I really enjoyed it. I did the factory tour last august. I custom ordered my coach. I chose my Dealer and paid a deposit. A little over 1 week later, while I was on vacation in Europe, I hear the news that sank very deep into my heart : Winnebago bought Newmar! You should have seen me. I got so angry that I called my dealer and cancelled everything. There was no way I would buy a Winnebago at that time. I checked Tiffin, the only other family owned RV manufacturer and I didn’t like what they offered. So there went the plan of owning a Class A motorhome. I didn’t want one anymore. That said, because of a busted dream, I kept monitoring what was happening at Newmar. At the end of February, I called NIRVC’s Angie, my saleswoman, and restarted the process. I am now please to see that Winnebago has not altered Newmar in any shape or form other than their accounting department, according to Newmar’s rep, Natalie. So, next month, April, I’m going back for another tour and will custom order again my future coach : King Aire 2021. I’m not only a first time viewer, I’m also a new subscriber. Congrats. Great channel!
Hey Michael. Thank you for watching and sharing your story. We love our Newmar but if we were looking at a KA we would be taking a hard look at Foretravel. They make a fine coach and are still family owned. We toured one at Tampa and wow. Be sure to check out our video on it. Thanks you for joining the ERV crew and hope to see you in our live-streams!! Foretravel video ruclips.net/video/ffhGgQ-uh-w/видео.html Izzy.
@@EndlessRVing 😉 Thank you very much for the suggestion about ForeTravel but I will keep choosing Newmar. Also, thank you for the welcoming message. I'm sure to enjoy your channel for a long time.
Our Allstar (discontinued in 2009) is 10 years and led now. We went to Nappanee for 1 year warranty work and had the same personal service experience. In fact, they fixed two things we didn’t even know about. We will find an excuse to go to their new service center. Thanks for the informative video. I like your channel.
I hear from Newmar owners that quality on new units and the service center has gone downhill big-time! Whether it’s a Kountry star or a King Aire or Essex you’re treated like crap the quality of repairs is terrible. If you ever go back to the service center or know somebody else that does, would be great to have a video of how things have changed if that’s true with more people than that how quality of the RVs and service has deteriorated. I heard of people with new King Aire’s and Essex end up selling theirs new units after a year and going with Newell instead. Thank you guys!
They sure sell the hell out of Newmar coaches so I honestly dont believe this statement I think its a oldhead complaining for the sake of complaining. I have a Prevost and have problems what coach dont??????
After watching your video on your experience at Newmar I have definitely decided to fly back from California for a plant tour and hopefully watch my new custom coach being built.. Thank You sharing your Newmar factory experience.
(This is MJ) Rich you really should. I was super excited watching these coaches being built and they weren’t even mine! One of the guys on the tour was able to walk on his half built coach, it was so cool. He took a pic and signed the wood. Definitely do that if you can!
I’m definitely going and taking my son with me. He has & loves Motorhomes factory tours. . A father / Son trip. Love the idea of signing the floor of my new coach on the production line.!!!
Rich Riddle Don’t hesitate to reach out to Tom Lindstrom in Moorpark California. Not a lot of Newmar dealers out west but he’s definitely one of the good ones.
Glad you enjoyed your experience. We live in the NE corner of Ohio and the factory it's about 4.5 hrs. away. The only dealership that handles King Aires is 400+ miles from us. I was a Cornerstone fan until Thor bought them. I noticed a slight downgrade in quality plus, I know people who had steering issues that they ended up taking to someone else to fix. Comfort drive is a game changer.
Nice job for the video But, You folks talk and talk and talk and talk and talk then tell us the issue then talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk
Any updates on the impact of Winnebago purchasing Newmar? Have you guys heard anything? Seriously considering a gas coach and really like what I have seen and head so far.
I think so too. We have an Open Road right now... Looking for future...Tiffin 40IH or Ventana 4369. Everyone says the comfort drive is very nice. We will see. 6 yrs left in LE...then done! Be safe up there brother.

Thank you for the tour! I'm shopping for a coach now. I'd been looking at Tiffin's due to their post-warranty support system down in AL. But--I live 2 hrs from Newmar. Is it true that they will service ANY year coach in this facility?
re: tiffin, the biggest difference is in Red Bay there's an entire community of shops that will work on EVERYTHING--even after-hours, many will come to your campsite. The Tiffin owners group has a spreadsheet of the vendors. Literally anything can get done. And the shop owners either currently work at Tiffin factory, or did.
So I plan on purchasing an RV within the next 2 years. Maybe even go full time or close to it. We have dogs and a motorcycle so a class A would work best for us. So I recently saw a Newmar class A toy hauler (Canyon Star gas) and started to really research that one hard. Then to my surprise, Newmar introduced the 2021 Canyon Star 3927 toy hauler with a front diesel engine! So that's my target now. But what I'm getting at is your honest reviews and opinions especially about Newmar and their factory/service center has made me feel more comfortable about not looking at other manufacturers. At least not for now!
If you are in Diesel Class A market the best production coaches would be Newmar, Tiffin and Entegra. Not that there are not other good coaches but those 3 are always considered the best in the class A production coaches. Izzy
Very informative video. Thanks for the level of detail on visiting the Newmar service center. And congratulations on your 1000 subscribers,,,I am glad to be one. BTW who was your dealer?? I am talking with one in Albany and one in Mass. Not a lot of choose when you live in Mass. Thanks and keep up the great vids.
Thanks for watching and glad you found the video helpful. We bought from RV One in Albany. The sales process was great. As for service we tried to go somewhere local which did not turn out well. We will be using RV One to fix the awning. They have been very responsive and hoping to get up there in 2 weeks or so. They are about 2 hours from us.
Thank you so much for all the information, looking forward to visiting the Newmar facility we love all the Knowledge. PS Dave's RV in Connecticut is a family owned Newmar only dealer.
We own a Newmar. Unfortunately, their service is horrible!!! Not just one or two visits but all. They have a service manager in Indiana named Doug. He sure sounds good until you witness his follow through--zero!!!! Even after ten reminders.
Tiffin , the worst experience we ever had. A Alegro Bus 43 FT . 8 weeks back at the factory having repaired. Absolutely a rubbish product . Beware. We have a Renegade on order .
I am stuck in KC MO. My new Thor Miramar slides will not go out. I am at a dealer and they sell Newmar. Newmar slide construction looks superior. Thi king about switching.
Good to see behind the curtain about what happens at a service center. Suggestion to make your videos better, get a second mike please. Your voice is very loud and your wife's is very quiet.

We really love our Newmar, top notch build and customer service. Entegra is now coming with comfort steer also. Competition is good for the industry.
Thanks for the video. Can you order and pick up a Bay Star at the plant?
You can pick up at Newmar for a premium charge. The ordering must be done through a dealer.
Thanks for watching and the comment

When purchasing a new Newmar can you have your own paint scale done on your RV?.
Paint scame
Colors not designs

Thanks Izzy and I agree. Pretty sure that Newmar is the only one doing a Class A diesel toy hauler. Unless I look at a Super C

If you order from the factory do they discount off the msrp like a dealership would? Or did you do build specs and negotiation at dealership first?
Order must be made through dealer. There is no factory direct purchase of a Newmar.

So are you saying that Newmar said that the "problem" with the bedroom slide not coming flush at the top is because the manual locks were not locked?
That is correct. We locked the slides and the walls were flush.

Hershey RV show everybody showing small trailers you guys only showed the big ones 40ft
We did show a pop up as well as Airstream Nest. Both small towables.
