I’m excited to hear who you all think has the best table in BMX! I’ll start by saying that I have always felt that Chris Stauffer and Justin Inman have some of the best Tables out there! Please comment your favorite and we will add them all up for next week’s video!
Tabletops Chris Doyle or Joe Rich...my favorite ride to ride with is Dave Freimuth at area 51 skatepark or four seasons skatepark and also Oshkosh Wisconsin skatepark
Larry Edger is the first to come to mind with the table! Dude goes so high and has so much style especially with the Table. Also, Gary Young and Chad Curley have notable tables. If downhill MTB can count, Emil Johansson needs a to be in the mix for best table too.
I’m from Kansas City and ride with DMC every week. Dude still kills it. One of the nicest and most humble BMX riders I’ve met. Always smiling when he rides 🤙🏻
So stoked for this. I know you boys weren't born yet but surprised to not see a mention of Eddie Fiola, Ron Wilkerson, RL Osborne, Woody Itson, or Bob Haro. Glad to see my very favorite Scotty Cranmer listed with the legends of the sport where he belongs.
I was surprised that some of those old-school guys weren't mentioned as well. However, when I consider who most-likely voted on this, I'd say that the old-school riders were the ones who influenced the riders who influenced the people who voted. That being said, what an amazing group of riders represented on this list!
Scotty, this is a good list, but I think your list may be the most influential in the past 25 years. If you go back 50 years, you would end up with some more names to consider...Guys like Eddie Fiola, Martin Aparijo, Ron Wilkerson, RL Osborne, Dave Volker, Woody Itson, Dave Nourie, Brian Blyther, Mike Dominguez, Rick Moliterno, Dennis McCoy, Matt Hoffman, Bob Haro, were the pioneers of BMX Freestyle. These guys got in vans and drove around the country doing shows to promote BMX. They were the stunt riders in movies like Rad and Quicksilver, and the first commercials featuring BMX tricks. They invented the tricks. They rode skateparks before it was called park. Without them, BMX would not be what it is today. Matt Hoffman is by far the best promoter and the X-games took BMX to the next level with the riders you have on the list. But who influenced Matt? Who influenced Dave Mira? It was the old guys listed above.
I’m sorry, but it was a list based off of comments and that’s why he’s not on the list but don’t you worry, I will be doing a video of riders from the 80’s and he will absolutely be on that list!
Absolutely no need to apologise. Completely understand the criteria, but I was a little worried that the early to mid eighties were being glossed over.@ScottyCranmer
Mira, Hoffman, Dmc and Nyquist are all so good I couldn’t name the best. I also love Eddie Fiola and his California Pipeline days as the king of concrete vert in his era. Bmx will always be RAD!
Scotty changed BMX. His flip tricks were next level. He was a machine. He still shows that drive, determination and optimism that made him such a good rider.
I’m around Scottie’s age and I started riding at a young age and had the Ridebmx how to video. I always loved watching Robbie Morales ride and see his table tops.
One of the most impressive things about Nyquist for me was when he rocked up at Red Bull Joyride in 2017 and placed 3rd! Such a beast on all bikes it seems
Yeah I second the Bob Haro and RL Osborn comment. But I don't know if it's possible to make a complete list that will satisfy everyone or even most. It's interesting to see how perspective shifts from era to era. But there's one thing that will always hold true. We love BMX and we love chasing the stoke and we love and are all thankful to those who came before and our minds are always blown by what comes next...
Fuzzy Hall!!!!! Clicked tables... Always remember seeing mongoose adds with his sick over clicked tables. Him and "Nasty" Cory N. His style back in the day and his tables were very memorable! 🤘🤘
yo Scotty thanks for everyting you do for BMX but not only BMX thanks for teaching us what we as humans should be an should strive to be and that is to be the best version of ourselfs🦆 no matter wot comes our way so keep doing wot u do much love from Spotty in South Africa🤘
Once the video started, I thought of Taj right away and that was the first one they mentioned. I still have my original Hoffman Big Daddy from 96-97, I even have a dollar billed signed by Matt Hoffman.
Great video. The memories of Matt Hoffman winning that comp in 1987 before the X-Games even existed was my first time seeing him ride when he was like 17 and Dave Mirra so tragic but so legendary. He was the Golden boy of BMX literally dominating the X-Games.
That was a great video with some amazing riders. I am 41 and spent my teenage years as a sponsored rider and got to ride with some of these guys. As far as tables go, Chris Doyle did some of the flattest 360 tables I have ever seen with such easy and a smoothness to them.
All well deserved mentions for this list. I definitely thought Ruben Alcantra and Edwin Delarosa would be on here but everyone on this list is truly legendary.
As a kid I’d root for Jay Miron and my brother would root for McCoy. Eventually I loved watching Dave Mirra and my brother loved nyquist. Really miss Mirra. Also when Scotty first came into the scene I was blown away with his aggressive and different style. I remember watching and thinking who the hell is this kid.Just awesome to watch.
@scottycranmer you deserve to be in the most influential riders. You are so humble and real. Love watching videos of you riding in the day BUT love equally seeing your new challenges that you set yourself. You have never lost your passion for BMX which is so admirable given what you went through. You have left and continue to leave a HUGE legacy in BMX.
Started riding back when it was Dizz Hix and Woody Itson. Mat was the best for me, remember when he rode for Skyway with yet another Scotty. Remember the day we won the Am series, won the Am finals for the day, turned pro and won that too. My proudest moment was back in the last 90's and impressed him by doing a nothing bunnyhop over a kid. 54 now and still watching.....
I told my best friend that you better put yourself in this. I think you're one of the most influential riders for modern day BMX. Also, listening to you talk about video parts and the riders makes me feel more normal because this is how I sound when I'm talking about it to others. Love you Scotty.
That was an excellent choice of riders Scotty and Matty. It was a great bit of nostalgia. As for the table video, I think there's obviously you boys and pretty much all of your friends. 😜👍
All of those guys were absolutely amazing! I hope you were compiling a list of new tricks for Matty to master in 20 minutes or less or the video is free, right? I remember the first time I saw somebody do a flair. I thought I had a brain hemorrhage causing me to hallucinate, but these guys ride like their bikes are a surgically attached appendage that they've had since birth. SO KOOL. Great video.
Yeah Scotty, you are my personal most influential rider or person. Your road to recovery and the fact, that you got your feets back on the padel, convinced me to get back on the bike myself. I thought i was too old and shit like that. And you also made me do actually tricks on my first bmx i just got because it was a cool bike as a kid. That was the era of those felt promos. Loved that time and all your tailwhip combos. Table Tops: Chase Hawk. PS: i was still surprised by your tabletops at the end. You probably didnt do them quite enough.
Love from the U.K boys!🇬🇧 Always✌🏻 WELOVEBMX. Without these videos, the young viewers probably and definitely would never have heard or seen this kinda of bmx and riders, so keep up any and all content. You and matty are great guys.
I would love for you guys to do a similar video, but for some of the more obscure riders that us true bmx lovers remember growing up. Riders like Fuzzy Hall, Matt Beringer, Corey Nastazio, Leigh Ramsdell etc. As always, love all that you've done and continue to do for bmx ❤
love the list! my most influentical rider was Brett Banasewicz. I grew up in his town in south bend indiana wheree he opened the Kitchen skatepark. Thats what got me into bmx. i know his career was cut short from injury, but man i miss the days hanging at the skatepark and just watching his super clean park style!
He was amazing. i saw him ride at and indoor warehouse in Indiana back around 2009 before his accident. My Daughter and I were up from Fl to ride with "The Strieby's". Kitchen is one of the places we went. He was just this little kid pulling off crazy stuff. The Name Kitchen Skatepark sounds familiar. I've rode so many I cant remember the names of them all. LOL.
I’ve always loved Jason Enns’ tables.. I guess they were a cross between an indown and a table but they look so good.. Aitkens one footed table was amazing as well..
thank you Scotty! For your possible future video about the OG influencers who influenced this voted upon current list, there are a lot of shout outs already in the comments. But there is something to say about the STYLE of the old school riders that tend to be on your commenters lists. For one, vert riders that over rotate and tend to be already at 180 at the top of their air, maybe shouldn't even be on the list (e.g. Ron Wilkerson). There is a unique and masterful execution that takes place when a rider is still parallel with the coping when at their highest point (Brian Blyther would be the best example of this, THE MOST unique style at height). Rippers like RL Osborne or Woody Itson were mostly flatland trick oriented, and as great as they were, didn't influence as many people that boosted the highest aeriels. Everyone talks about Eddie Fiola a lot, and sure he was a little more OG than Dominguez and Blyther, and certainly one of the most influential, but for some reason at least imo, wasn't a standout as much as them. Blyther clearly had the most original style amongst any oldschool rider, think "The Flying Chicken", and in later vids of him riding halfpipe he RODE THE WHOLE RAMP, huge airs and back to back 540's all day before Mirra came on the scene. Fiola and Dominguez battled it out for many years, as Michael being the younger underdog, but at least in my eyes there was a deeper radness in Dominguez's riding and was always the standout. Maybe because he was just the little shit kid who had a natural gift would be the reason that in peoples mind Fiola was the king? Can-can, no-footed can-cans, 540`s, 900`s, 1-footed/1-handed inverts, tailwhip flyouts and the best lookbacks in the business; add it to the lists as Domnguez pioneered our sport and truly possessed the best STYLE. Shout out to @supernoobsmith5718 for mentioning my favorite and most influential rider. He went as high on a small quarter pipe back then as many can do today. One can always judge this, when seeing an air that is clearly higher than double the height of the ramp size. Thank you Mike, you are a true legend, we owe a lot to you.
Chad Degroot would be up there for me, I do ride flatland though. The Baco videos, his antics in “normal” media, park clips in UGP Mission of Nonsense, and flatland in general.
That Diamond Back shot of Harry Leary doing a crossed up tabletop with one foot off the pedals is seared in my childhood brain. That was what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Great stuff fellas! I'm gonna have to go way back and pick Cory Nastazio for the table top. He just had "it" back in the day with a cool factor off the charts 😁
@@chrislawson8568 I seen a zoo York ad recently with him doing a 3 turndown , he got slept on for 3 turndowns, everyone thinks Doyle but nastys where top level too.

I always comment to early but he better have put his own name on this list. Edit good he needs to be on this list. Scott mixed technical with bangers. That edit was funny as hell. You got to laugh about it. Great job man
My guesses at the beginning of the video are.... *drumroll* 🥁 1) Dave Mirra 2) Ryan Nyquist 3) Matt Hoffman 4) Taj Mahelich 5) Van Homan 6) Chad Kagy 7) Dennis McCoy *wild cards* Nate Wessel Stevie Hamilton Rick Mollenterno Mike "rooftop" Escamilla Evel Knievel 😉 At least they were my influences when I was a kid in the 90s, along w/ many others from that era.... I can't say enough good things about that era in BMX. It was the most influential thing I've ever seen that spoke to me and made me feel like I wasn't weird for loving my bike so much.... As a matter of fact, it guided me on my path in life because everyone in my town was doing drugs and BMX gave me an outlet and a passion that molded me as a person as well. It made me what I am today and I wish everyone could experience the same thing.... I will always be living a Life Behind Bars because of BMX. 😉❤️😊
Josh White and Ron Wilkerson were noticeably missing. They are the ones that inspired guys like Matt Hoffman. Eddie Fiola was also missing. He was for sure a big influence in the lineage of Ryan Nyquist and flatland. But it’s understandable as the list seems to be very park-focused and post 80’s.
Yes garret Reynolds vs dom NO MERCY! Lol that would be fun. Also u do deserve to be on this list man. U are what got me back in to bmx in my late 20s Also.. damn I remember watching x games when migration did double flip. Good ol days
I was trying to guess the list before you started. Mat Hoffman Dave Mirra Ryan Nyquist Dennis McCoy Mike Aitken Van Homan Brian Foster that was my list! Had a couple other names like Garrett Reynolds and Dennis Enarson but I don’t think they’re old enough. Also super cool with the post accident clips of yourself! That’s more than I can do on a BMX!
That Matt Hoffman clip, he's a mad man! I would have been crazy scarred to be towed by a motorcycle, let alone catching air 5 or 6 stories above the ground. Thank God there are people like him to inspire and frighten normal human mortals like me.
Top 5 tabletop kings: Gary Young, Ruben, Doyle, & Vic Murphy of course. Could probably think of 5 more easy though. Mike Aitken, Chase Hawk, Jason Wattz, Larry Edgar, Drew Bezanson. Scotty’s inverts too 😮💨
Eddie Cleveland I feel was a pretty influential rider! Feel like he started the whole slammed thin seat thing. Definitely ripping the padding off of a pivotal seat was him and Ian Schwartz, another influential, free coaster rider. Both pegless and brakeless too but could do pegless grinds in the streets. Chase Hawks tables are some of the best!
Chris Doyle & Mike Aitken folded some good ones. One of the most iconic Aitken tables is out of a bank to wall ride on a shipping container where he does a perfect inverted table out of it. I think that was from SquareOne’s Wide Awake Nightmare.
I’m excited to hear who you all think has the best table in BMX! I’ll start by saying that I have always felt that Chris Stauffer and Justin Inman have some of the best Tables out there! Please comment your favorite and we will add them all up for next week’s video!

At least they were my influences when I was a kid in the 90s, along w/ many others from that era.... 😉❤️😊
Justin Inman, Chris Staufer, Vic Murphy for best proper tabletops
Corey Walsh, Chase Hawk, Josh Dove
Yesss long Vid!
I almost commented Josh White on the first vid but I went with Martin Aparijo because I had no ramps close but I had a nice driveway!
Harry mains 360 tables was insain
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇ALL HAIL KING MIRRA🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
Yes garret Reynolds vs dom NO MERCY! Lol that would be fun.
Also u do deserve to be on this list man. U are what got me back in to bmx in my late 20s
Also.. damn I remember watching x games when migration did double flip. Good ol days
Hell yeah I used to see Mike ride often at the Sandy skatepark in his heyday. So fun to watch. Skated too.
I was trying to guess the list before you started.
Mat Hoffman
Dave Mirra
Ryan Nyquist
Dennis McCoy
Mike Aitken
Van Homan
Brian Foster
that was my list!
Scotty’s inverts too 😮💨
Best table? BMX PLUS’s Radical Rick
scotty was 110% my number one influence into BMX, Thank you so much.
The canadian beast himself.....Jay Mirron
Joe Rich tabletop, Paul Buchanan euro table, Jason Enns invert. Throwing some different names out there, some of my favourites.
late 90's Mirra with the slim jim logo on his helmet is LEGENDARY!!!!!!....VHS of Road fools 3 iv watched over hundred times
Awesome to see some love for DMC. I was at all the Xgames in San fran. So Awesome!
Sick video boys!
Chris Doyle & Mike Aitken folded some good ones. One of the most iconic Aitken tables is out of a bank to wall ride on a shipping container where he does a perfect inverted table out of it. I think that was from SquareOne’s Wide Awake Nightmare.
I have to wait a bit to have time to watch this one
