I am Hispanic born in California and a catholic. I am a ashamed I never heard the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I often seen different references of her! This brought me to tears. An overwhelming effect on me! Thank you so much for enlightening me! I am truly grateful!

It's weird that I was filled with emotions and started to cry when he translated the phrase in english from la Virgen de Guadalupe. I'm I the only one?

John F. Kennedy visited this place when he came to Mexico because he was one of the few catholic presidents in USA, In fact for catholics in the continent is an obligated place to visit because the virgin of guadalupe is "the catholic mother of the whole
continent" im not exactly a believer but I think spiritual places like these are more like universal monuments whatever you're believer or not, that should be visited just like pyramids

@R Hopzing I'm a Mexican atheist, and although its not like in other countries where atheist lives can be in danger here I just dont mention it. You'll just get wierd looks from the older generation maybe some people judging you but thats it. Only my close family knows it and they will still try to get me to church and so on but no more then that.

If you travel to Mexico City, this is a must visit. It's so convenient and makes for a nice couple of hours +. Take Metro Green line 3 towards Indios Verdes and exit at Deportivo 18. Transfer via very long corridor to Metro Red line 6 towards Martin Carrera and exit at La Villa. That's it. Had a very pleasant morning. Some people combine this with their trip to Teotihuacan but I had lots of time in the city so went on separate days.

I love this video. The last time I went there was 1999 may17 it was a day before my mom told me we are moving to the United States I was only 9 and I have always remember that place now I’m 29 and. My goal is to. Finally go back and the first thing I well be doing is going to la basilica I miss Mexico a lot. I remember a lot of it and it’s just soo different from the US I miss all the food Just everting about it I don’t know if you have done a video on the museo de antropologia but I have one cool story that my mom just told not to long ago. Thanks for making videos like this I been watching all your recent videos. But today I had the time to go watch some of your first videos. Keep doing what you doing 🤘🏾🤘🏾 🇲🇽

Was there 3 times. It is very easy to get there from the US. Cheap too. People are super friendly and the bus system is very cheap. Rides below $0.50 USD. You get a bus card from a bus station and can deposit maximum of 120.00 Mexican Pesos (approximately 6.00 USD). You use the card each time til is runs out. Then deposit money and get it back to 120 MEX D. There are good restaurants around the Basilica and walking to the Tepeyac the old church not difficult. Please make the pilgrimage with your family and make a visit to Our Lady. She will know you came to visit.

I am from California and Omg I was there when I visited mi familia en México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽viva México i love your videos so beautiful to la reina de México and to see my family, and some history it's said that the natives trusted la virgen de Guadalupe because the thought she was the Goddess Tonanzin and they thought Guadalupe was driven because she had her hair down and had a ribbon around her belly the hair meaning virginity and the ribbon meaning pregnancy and she was a magic pregnant virgin on the hill where the worship they're Goddess so of course they made those connections and this is what lead them to worship her

Nice video bro, I really really enjoy your videos about Mexico City. I am a "Chilango", I mean a CDMX´s local guy. If you really like "pozole" you should visit a place called "La Casa de toño", Pozocalli´s pozole is not very well. There is a lot of interesting places to visit in CDMX. You could go at the top of the Torre Latino, the view is really amazing in a clear day. Another places you could go are National Park of Desierto de los Leones, El Kiosco del Morisco, Tlatelolco. Good work man!

Prior to the common Western name most people know her by (which means Valley of the Wolves), she was addressed in Nahuatl as Tonantzin, or Great Mother, which is more in alignment to her words to Juan Diego which span the entrance to the Basilica.

Just to comment on what you said regarding people who come from very far, a type of person you can guarantee came from far away is those who wear sombreros. It is now typically only worn by older men who farm, and as a result is almost guaranteed they have come from far to see la virgencita.

28/09/2020: Some years ago some Japanese researchers took a very good/close look at the image of Our Lady of Guardalupe. They noted some astounding things: The image is NOT on the tilma but is floating above the cloak which would normally last 10 to 15 years. The image is a human temperature and has a heart beat! Any person who does not believe in God nor a life hereafter must try to get their heads around what these facts mean. Blessing, peace and prayers for ALL peoples from the land of Oz
