They mixed the melody from Ievan Polkka, some German Schlager harmonies and an Irish tune. I'm quite intrigued by this combo and really had to laugh when the Schlager part came along. Good luck to you guys.

I read it more like, 'Wait, are they really using the Ievan Polkka melody here?' kind of thing (which were also exactly my thoughts the moment I heard the song). Then I added the things/musical references I heard in this song (as an unasked for kind of explanation) and expressed how the use of those musical references made me feel. So, maybe it had been better communication if I added a "Yeah" in the beginning of my first comment. And you are totally right, they did something similar with el Condor Pasa and Bella Ciao.
