Squats is not a necessary exercise unless you are powerlifter. Maine ye observe Kiya ki squats lgaate time kuch khaas muscle mind connection nahi bnta, or barbell squats bhot thaka deta hai first exercise mai hi. Toh Maine ab ek saal se barbell squats nhi lgaya, body weight squats and light to medium dumbell squats lgata hu with pad under ankles. Slow negatives ke saath full muscle mind connection bnta hai. Fhir medium to not ego lifting leg press. Leg extention. Leg curl. Sometimes lunges yaa sumo dumbell squats

Sir, I'm a beginner and whenever I do squats there is a minor pain/discomfort in my right knee and sometimes popping sound is there. Is it normal or should I be concerned about it?
Use lights weight or do free weight squats and use hack squats if there is , and don't do squats throughout the year do like 6 months of squats like 2 months squats 1 month breack like that

Hey bro popping sound is normal and if it is accompanied with pain then it becomes concerning. Experiment with different range of motion and learn to squat thoroughly. Maybe you could start with goblet squat. Akshay sir has already made video on it. Take it slow brother do not stop training. I wish you all the best. If the pain is too much maybe you can consult a physiotherapist
