I'm in love with how much love this show is getting. It stole my heart immediately and still has it weeks after its end. Lycoris Recoil really is something special. I'm glad that so many other people agree.
You're right with "probably going to make me cry by the end and even if the show itself doesn't make that happen not having it to watch on Saturdays going forward might just do the trick". I feel empty now that the show ended and it's sad that other materials of the show like the Manga adaption will most likely never be available here in Germany.
I’ve liked the girls with guns shows since Noir; Canaan is my favorite. This one was very good; my favorite part was Takina’s flip in single-minded devotion from the DA to Chisato to the point of bloodthirsty rage.
I know this would be weird coming from a really jaded person like myself, but Lycoris Recoil is probably my Anime of 2022, unless if Bleach and CSM and Spy x Family have something to say about it come Fall 2022. It's been fun, engaging, and heartfelt all around with a great lead duo, and I thought it handled its tone shifts quite well, considering the premise it was in. I'm not gonna act like it's perfect and flawless by any means cause it does have some issues like pacing or odd plot choices, but at least for the most part, I thought it stayed quite true to what it intended to show and accomplish, and that's more than enough for me.
@@danyul- well , you see the genre has kind of ... taken the dust in terms of anime , I can only cite 2 anime that are actually good (for the genre at least) and somewhat ''recent'' , the 2 being citrus and bloom into you , and the rest is uhhh .... Adachi and shimura (kinda boring , useless alien) , NTR (big yikes , fuck Fujiwara, lacks substantiality) and ok you get it ... if lycoris lines up with yuri , it would be a big needed refresh for the genre, because it has everything you'd want from an anime , and a solid production but what matters is liking the show for what it is and so far it has been such a great anime indeed
@@danyul- yeah lol , on an other not it's still kinda crazy that this genre never had a proper "girls with guns" anime , it's all subtext (except Akuma no riddle that's the only exception)
i should stop hating on seasonals but in recent years anime has been super lazy and does things that have already done before but giving them a gimmicky twist. if i had the platform i'd promote digging into more obscure anime (that seasonals constantly borrow ideas from) instead of keeping up with mediocre shows every week.
Personally don't see the issue with how her artificial heart was handled, but to each their own I suppose. I do also personally want to do more with obscure anime that I think deserve attention, and I'll try and remedy that to a some level in this coming season, though I don't think I'm in a place size wise where I can just do a video on whatever and expect results.
My AoT probably as well if they dont destroy ending ( which I dont believe, they execute story rly well) and for sure this season. I thought nothing will steal this thinking after Paripi Konming but well here it is. Probably it will fight with Golden Kamuy in my heart xD Chisato best girl no doubt. And I love how "elitists" butthurt (specially MiA fanatics) there is one that attacks everyone who says that its good LR is 1st xD Tho rly good video, probably will convince more ppl to this gem :D
Was very good indeed , but this year we got Edgerunners ,Paripi Koumei , Virgin Road, just some that were better in my opinion , new seasons of older animes not included, my other two fav's you mentioned too , and we still got a season this year so who knows :D
Can't say I agree with Kongming being better, but to each their own. Still have to finish Cyberpunk myself. I think my enjoyment of LycoReco def has a bit of bias for how I view its quality though lmao.
@@danyul- Okey , Kongming is another style altogether , cant realy compare the two, im a mistery , action , sci-fi and maybe horror fan, not realy watching with music type animes ,only one i know is D4DJ, but kongming was sooo good the music gave me chills :D
Majima is, in his own way, a hero. Extrajudicial killings? Turning hundreds of children into child soldiers? He's against that, even if it means costing Japan its peace - the Pax Lycoris, if you will - because he thinks the cost of that peace is too high. The fact that the only way he can think of to do this is to throw an entire city into chaos and expose Direct Attack in a day of blood and gunfire is what makes him a villain. The conflict between Majima and Direct Attack - a battle of opposing opinions on what wrongs are acceptable - makes for a deeper show than just Girls Doing Cute Things mixed with Girls With Guns. From my view, Chisato and Takina are heroes, and yet they are still pawns of DA as long as they do anything that supports Japan's peace as it is at the start of the show.
I honestly think the quality is going down, especially for the latest 3 episodes. Chisato's new heart comes out from nowhere, Majima's "plan" is so confusing, DA's horrible battle skills...I love Lycoris Reocil and I want it to be good. It looks like A-1 wants to focus on the story between Chisato and Takina (I mean I like it), but they also want to talk about something like utopia, balance, justice, darkness, blahblahblah. Unfortunately, A-1 is not able to handle it. They didn't depict enough about Majima's background to support his action. Why we can understand him is because other similar characters (like Joker mentioned in the video). Additionally, I pay more attention to battle scenes (I am a fan of firearms but not professional), and I know it's kinda unfair to judge an anime based on its battle scenes. But look at the first two episodes, A-1 did a good job. I don't understand why the battle scenes look so bad now. If A-1's goal is to show the audience how unqualified DA is, well, they reached the goal. (By the way, I think why people call Lycoris Recoil "anime John Wick" is because Chisato uses C.A.R (Center Axis Relock) skill just like JW). There is only one episode left, I don't expect Lycoris Recoil can be amazing, but I will still give it 80/100. I mean, who doesn't like cute girls? And all the plots about Chisato & Takina are great. I can see the growth of them, and of course, all those cute interactions. If there is another season, I will definitely watch it.
Personally disagree on the quality going downhill, but I do agree that the battle scene with Chisato climbing the tower in particular wasn't that well done. The anime has been consistently animated up to this point though so I won't complain too much. As for Majima, I think his plan makes sense given his personality. His deeds were being covered up, leaving him with no recognition so he wanted to expose the Lycoris' existence, and did so pretty effectively. A1 did decide to focus more on their relationship. Wish I would have mentioned it in the video, but the director mentioned that LycoReco was originally going to be a darker anime, but decided to focus on the relationships instead. Also, we should be getting 13 episodes, so 2 left instead of just 1.
Actually no, the spy have the new heart all along the whole time, that why there it was the Sensei confession after they discover that she had two months to live, now they have high stakes, and everything to lose, the question if the spy of the Alan Institute would come out alive by the end of the season after betraying Chisato, I not think that Takina would let it go without a bullet between his eyes after what he did to Chisato.
Maybe Majima is an Allan Inst. donor like Chisato but find something wrong of their motives like Yoshimatsu did to Chisato to be a hitman. I think to scratch to another season that who really Allen Institute really was, when Lilybells originated and why I said Majima gone vendetta to DA dept.
Still love this anime, personally. Needs to stick the landing, but I can't see it fumbling the bag enough for me to hate it. (Haven't finished Cyberpunk yet either, who knows maybe I'll find it as amazing as everyone else does right now)
Episode 12 was quite bad with how stupid the civilians are, the tensions also aren't fully explored(ig? Idk felt something lacking) but it wasn't that bad imo, hopefully the last episode won't be too bad
I can kinda get how civilians reacted. Most people didn't directly witness any violence, just saw the screens. And most would likely want to believe it was fake to keep a sense of peace. It was slightly forced, but I'm not too against it

You’re right, I thought this was a cute girls doing cute things show but you’ve convinced me to watch it.
:) hope you enjoy
It has that, but gun-fu too!
Correction: cute girls doing counter terrorism.
Damn danyul
You are correct. This show is so much more than an action series. It is well written.

What a great video, i love this show so much and your video does it justice
Glad you enjoyed :)
An unexpected treat, for sure...probably my AotY, too (although I'm on the Spy x Family hype train, as well).

And Overlord happened to drop this year too so-

One thing is sure that 2022 is an amazing year for anime.
I really enjoyed it as well (I hope last ep will deliver), but then I saw Edgerunners... Probably best (new?) animated series of the year.
Still need to finish Edgerunners myself. Show has been good so far, wish it had been a weekly series so hype could have built around it more
