This lady has it easy because now she doesn't have any responsibilities over her because her boyfriends family took her in without any complaints and are doing a great job at showing her love and support. I have a 19 year old who thankfully never even had a boyfriend at her age she was obviously missing something from home to turn to a boy who can give it to her ... That's how it usually occurs. Being a mother is hard work but very worth it when u take the time and actually stay involved in there lives so this doesn't happen.

Yes she directly said that. That was harsh but...over some time the mom will come around. Its the shock and having to get over the fact that she is a really young grandmother. She had myrka in her 20s and probably wished that Myrka at least waited till that time.
Also it is very, very common that when the girl gets pregnant she has her own place. A lot of families go thru the same thing. The attitudes from both sides is why. A big blow up.

Yep. This is exactly how my mother in law is with my parents. My parents took in my husband (bf at the time) & let him live with us cause I was pregnant and he was from out of town. His mom expected him to make me get an abortion like she wanted but he didn’t; he just left. Srry for the story lol I can just relate to this comment. We weren’t even teens, we were 20 with full time jobs. She is just bitter. My sons 2 and she’s seen him once.

imagine being 38 working multiple jobs and barely can feed the 2 kids you gave birth too, the tell your child don't get pregnant because you are struggling to take care of her and her brother. then she gets pregnant ( on purpose) so I'm sure you would be angry too especially if at one point you were so broke you were living in a motel struggling to care for your family

I am also surprised and impressed because this I've witnessed so many young teens that never got this kind of support from anyone on both sides.

The whole pregnancy her mom was more concerned that she would have to take care of Myrka and the baby, and that she would be a grandmother younger than she wanted. Rather than actually taking care and loving her child through this difficult process, she was mad because she had to take care of her daughter.

That mom is not at all manipulative. She’s had a very different and unforgiving life. And she doesn’t want the same for her daughter. She also does not want to be responsible for grandchildren so soon. I don’t blame her! Kids having kids does not require your parents to be involved with the child until that parent is ready. Myrna and Ethan are the parents and the sole provider for that child. I wouldn’t want to be helpful towards the at all until I can see them doing something for themselves. I haven’t seen any growth from either kid so. Mom in my book was right to dip. And not be responsible for her or the child currently.

@@Ugh_mommy ehh she is manipulative. she constantly tells myrka things like “you backstabbed me” “you betrayed my trust” “i treat you like this because you got pregnant” whenever myrka does something that her mother does not like in order to make myrka feel bad about herself. but since she knows that myrka yearns for her mothers affection regardless of the way she treats her, she’ll be able to come back into myrka’s life whenever she pleases even after disrespecting her over becoming pregnant.
Ethan's parents are the kindest souls. Not tearing down the kids for making a mistake, but helping them own it and supporting their choice is so incredibly admirable. Myrka is best with Ethan and his family. Her mother's selfishness and negativity is truly sad.. glad to see the kindness of Ethan's parents and the love they show to Ethan and Myrka.

This reminds me so much about my mom when I got pregnant and I wasn’t even a teenager I was 21 and my mom still acted like this . Ifeel for her it hurts especially being pregnant and your emotions being everywhere
I found out when I was 20, I didn’t end up having it but I remember being terrified of my mother. She’s a lot like muelas mom but not to the same level of extreme but definitely the same level of judgment and emotionally abusive. And still now she loves to throw it in my face to see me get upset like I don’t remember my own pregnancy

Disagree. The job of a parent is to raise your child to the best of your ability. At this stage being 16 and pregnant that’s an adult. I also had working parents and a similar life to myrka, the difference is I wouldn't get pregnant and make myself another latin stereotype. Yah don't understand what it's like living with latin first gen immigrants. The rules are the rules, you break them, live with the consequences. We learn to be mature earlier, but my parents taught me a lot of things and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Poor girl, she doesn’t need this stress so far into her pregnancy. Her mom will want all the fun stuff on having a grand baby like posting pictures online and all the likes, comments and congratulations that will come in because of that. But won’t help her underage daughter emotionally or financially. My daughter was a teen mom. I wasn't excited by any means. However I couldn't even begin to wrap my mind around what this woman did to her child. Sounds to me like she was just ready to have one less person to be financially responsible for.
There was another girl pregnant around the time my daughter was and her parents did the exact same thing.
I don't think I've seen a boyfriends parents being so much better than the girls parents tbh - it's usually the other way around! but his family actually seems really sweet, and they've done a good job raising a nice young man like Ethan - it's nice that myrka has them for support!

I was a mom at 15 i emancipated myself got a job an apartment graduated from school went to college . My whole family rallied around me without enabling my situation nobody woke up with my child nobody watch my child while i went partying but they really rallied around me and never ever judge me at all

Seeing Ethans dad crying for Myrka really warmed my heart. You can tell he really cares for her and his granbaby.
Really hurts to see Myrka go through this.. My mom kicked me out at 19, and said it was my decision as well. With no where to go, I lived in my car for over a year without needing my mom for anything. Now I'm 25 and my mom is STILL claiming I abandoned her and she's the victim in this. Myrka needs to cut contact with her toxic mom and never look back.

I’m so glad Myrka had Ethan & his family. Ethan’s parents are really wonderful for being so loving & supportive even those teen pregnancy is unfortunate. Good for Myka deciding to love her child despite Liliana being so toxic & selfish. Liliana is not doing anything to support or help her daughter & grandchild.

Right!! my mom was a teen mom and she grilled into my head her hopes and wants for me and her desire for me to break the cycle, I ended up getting pregnant at 21 and despite being disappointed my mom was there for me from the minute I told her, she refused to leave my side and is the best grandmother I could’ve ever asked for my child. There isn’t a single excuse for that woman’s deplorable behaviour, she’s a horrible mother and a disappointment. Sad part is you can’t tell how much she’s still holding on to her coming around

teenage pregnancy is never a good idea, but not supporting your child through it is much worse. you can support her and make sure that she becomes more than a statistic, that she can do something much bigger than being a teenage mother with her life. she's so young and needs that guidance, i'm so glad she found it somewhere else and with people who genuinely love her. she seems like a great kid.

I love my daughters and they know no matter what they can always count with me and my husband. I do expect that they will finish school that is, B.A. from college. So both, my daughters and their children will always have a roof and food. Because, it means a well paying job. At anytime, I am planning on helping raise my Grandchildren, whether earlier or later, I want to enjoy all of them or the few of them.

I agree. The fact that she is unsupportive is probably because she had terrible experience and she survived. Putting Myrka on her own was to let her earn the experience or face more troubles when the kid grows up. Myrka has a lot to learn that being a mother is not as simple as just giving birth to a child.
