Diego, there is nothing boring about the celebration of your baby. You need to be there for Emily. She must be so stressed already because she’s pregnant and as a teenager. Be there for your girlfriend. Even if she wasn’t pregnant.
No literally. I love seeing dads-to-be excited and involved during the baby shower, regardless of their age. We just had our baby shower a week ago and I was so happy just seeing my fiancé get excited over the gifts and just seeing people we know.
Diego is horrible but I can understand why a teen boy would find a baby shower boring. I'm a mom and had my son at age 33 and I did not want a baby shower as the idea of having to attend any event, especially at that point in my pregnancy when I was constantly uncomfortable, tired and having breathing problems constantly throughout that pregnancy did not sound like a way I wanted to spend my day. And I remember being bored to tears when a few years prior, I attended a friend's baby shower. So I did not have a baby shower and 7 years later, I don't regret my decision. Some people are just not into that type of thing, and there are other ways to celebrate a pregnancy. So with all that being said, I can understand why a teen boy would likely definitely find it boring. However instead of hurting his girlfriends feelings he did not need to say it out loud.

My daughter's father was the same way as Diego. Needless to say I had her at 18 and by her 1st birthday I left him. 17 years later and she is an amazing girl who I am so proud of. Emily can do it alone. ❤️💪

That boy was so incredibly RUDE. He didn't care about those diapers because he knows he won't be the one buying them so it doesn't matter to him. His Parents clearly condoned his behavior and that is a BIG part of his problems. This guy is NOT Father material and he won't be around long..

It doesn't appear that he will there for his child or pregnant "girlfriend" so at the very least in a year or so, from when this show was recorded, he will be 18 years old and they can begin to request child support.
If my sons treated his child’s mother this way I would not tolerate it. If he can’t be apart of the child’s life I will. No matter what I’ll support my grandchild and the mother of the child 💕

Diego needs a paternity test and then put on child support and brought into the real world. His sports need to end because now he needs to be getting a job and supporting this baby he helped create. He wanted to play and now he needs to man up and pay. His behavior towards the mother of his child is typical of a spoiled young man who has never had any responsibility for anything. They both played a part in the pregnancy, but she is having to bear all the responsibility.

He was so disrespectful I couldn’t take it. I honestly really felt for Emily’s mom, they really try to make her out as the bad guy. Their communication wasn’t the best but you can tell that her mom genuinely cares and wants the best for her.
I like the way grandma said she didnt like the way he treated her but if she could handle it, it was her choice. The way she put it, she acknowledged his bad behavior but didnt try to put her opinion onto her granddaughter. Having been through abusive relationships when i was young, shes probably more likely to reconsider the relationship if she feels like its really HER choice.

Oh man that boy got me soooo heated! I would not allow my daughter to tolerate a boy like that. I have a son that’s 14 and he be damned if he would treat a girl like that. My mom was in the same boat as Emiley's mother. She also tried many years to make it work before she left him and raised me by herself. It's the best decision she's made, for herself and for me. I'd much rather be raised by a single mom than live in a broken household.

But one thing I'll say, a student especially those who are below 20 years I think you should focus on your studies and its okay if you are in love relationship with someone but don't marry and have a family untill you are financially independent . And planned pregnancy is the best decision everyone should make, unplanned pregnancy generally give rise to such depressing, saddening incidents. Don't get your girlfriend pregnant, 1) just becoz you can't control your desires to physically touch her. 2) Ifyou really don't want to take responsibilities of your own child. I give mom props for giving her a realistic view, and puts her feeling in perspective, and I love Nanas view and optimistic/openess for her to make her own decision. You can really see the generational gap but the overall concensus is absolute...I also see no hope, but definately gotta try and fail than to fail without trying.
My mother was in this situation and convinced my dad to stay. He abused me physically and emotionally long into adulthood. I BEGGED my mother to leave him throughout my life but she felt trapped in the relationship because of money and the kids. Children who grow up with awful fathers know that no father is far better. Take his child support and get out of there or you and your children will be abused like the rest of us kids that never had the option to leave. And the PTSD you and your children develop will harm you forever even if you escape. Run.

Emiley has an interesting relationship with her mom. They seem to have very different personalities. Emiley is more like the grandma, soft and calm. The mother is quite harsh, and borderline intimidating. But I think she's gonna be the only one putting Diego in his place!

Teenage pregnancy is preventable, let's get that straight. Sometimes the girl thinks she'll be "taken care of" as well as the child. Education is key. One can anticipate a life of hardships otherwise. 🌹
My younger sister thought that. She and her highschool boyfriend got pregnant at the end of highschool, they were both honor students with their college and careers already planned out and obtainable. Then the baby came and they both thought the new grandparents would take car eof the baby while they still continued on to college and started their career paths. Nope! Both of their college funds went towards the bills from the birth and although both families did A LOT to help out, he was still super immature while my sister was forced to deal with everything; which didn't turn out well since she'd always been catered to and spoiled. They ended up breaking up 2 weeks after the baby was born, it's been almost a decade now and neither of them went to college or got careers anywhere close to what they originally planned for. Now they're both heading towards 30 trying to have a late teen/early adulthood that they never had which isn't going well since they are both married to other people and have kids with those marriages as well.
It's a bit sad because my niece doesn't even see her parents as parental figures and now she's helping to take care of her half siblings whenever she's either of her parent's homes.

It's never too late to go back to school & fulfill your dreams with a career. Life experience also counts. You sister can still come out on top, even if school is part time. My heart aches for Emily! The fact that Diego is her child father makes me so sad because you can truly tell that deep down inside he doesn’t care at all for her and maybe that baby.
Diego's parents really thought they were doing smth by just showing up, staying silent and watch their soon to be daughter in law get humiliated and mistreated in THEIR OWN BABY SHOWER.
Diego’s mom and Dad are the only ones responsible for Diego’s disrespectful attitude.. Maybe they should’ve taught their son how to be a respectful young man, not a little mommas boy!!
