Today is the 7th anniversary of my fathers passing, being able to watch Eric Mealtime has really allowed me to calm my anxiety. He was a "steak and potatoes" kinda guy, and always liked to tease me when I'd eat things like sushi or anything outside the norm. Miss you, Dad!
First let me say how sorry I am for your loss. I lost my mom 16 years and it is hard but they live on in our memories and in us. As far as the video, I appreciate how much you have to eat each time for your viewers! I do enjoy seeing all the foods and options and I hope I make it to Japan one day.
Very cool video! Great job of showing local business support. I appreciate your attempt of eating stinky beans. It was a wonderful example showing that we should try foods that we may not think we like, and we may be surprised. As always, looking forward to the next adventure. 😊
C'mon Eric, if I can enjoy natto, you can too! I don't know how or when I acquired the taste for it, but I bought it by accident one day and immediately liked it. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I now buy it whenever it's available at my local Asian market. It sells out fast too. I'd enjoy the cafeteria style eatery; very casual, many options. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Aloha from Hawaii! My wife and I have been watching your videos for a year or so. We enjoy them very much. We watch several channels from Japan that feature food. I find the vending machine videos interesting. I like the family owned restaurants, where the prices are reasonable. They serve good everyday dishes. We will be leaving at the end of the month visiting my mother-in law. Mahalo for all your work on the videos.
I love the variety of different restaurants and cuisines you try, not just vending machines or bento boxes. It helps give us a good glimpse of what exists in Japan.
You mentioned burdock. In the UK 🇬🇧 one of our favourite drinks (especially from childhood) is Dandelion and Burdock fizzy pop (soda) it's delightful and I'll send it some if I can find your address, although I'm only on RUclips. Not Instagram xx
I don't know how he does it! I was an absolute wreck after my dad passed away. Grief is an awful thing, if not treated can be crippling, although I bet the Chef is taking good care of everyone.
Very cool vid! I really enjoyed the totally different atmosphere and it definitely makes me happy to hear that such quality food is open for 24 hours everyday! I'd love for something like this to be close to me.
Today would have been my Father´s 94´th birthday... he passed one year ago. We lived in Japan in the early ´80´s. He was such an adventurous foodie. Miss him everyday. Our family loved Tokyo! This meal looks fantastic...
I had natto before I like mine without raw egg an just a hint of a thick sauce. I prefer lake or river not so much on the ocen flavor the latest one I have try is rock fish it's ok but snapper I enjoy just a bit more 😀✌️❤️
Very interesting type of restaurant. Much different from typical cafeteria style places in the states. Looks amazing. Self-made sour is a new one for me too!
Whenever I see 1 of your videos that's the first 1 I have to watch. I love the way you present the meals especially when you have your sons but that's another story. I just love everything about your channel when I discovered you I can't get enough. Keep up the good work and keep up the good spirits. GET SOME!!!!!!! 😀😁
30:43 one of the things on my bucket list is the trade sushi for the first time in my life in Japan, Tokyo . And now that I work for a Japanese company, my dreams is that much closer. I have a lot of projects I want to work on and it’s gonna save the company millions and millions of dollars. I plan on being a manager Sommeday :)
I'm with you. Mackerel are a darker, oilier fleshed fish and full of flavor. Glad you gave us this insight into typical dining dishes. If Japan has comfort food, this would be it
Hate to argue with you Eric because you're such an awesome dude but I think that going with the bamboo chopsticks would have been a better green choice. It's a fast-growing plant and the Chopsticks are biodegradable. Plastic ones are made from petroleum products. Thanks for another boss show🎉
You can always tell when Eric is in northern Japan by the way the lights strobe in the videos ;p Northern Japan uses 50hz in its electricity grid and if your camera's shutter speeds aren't calibrated properly they'll make the lights flash as they'll be out of sync. It didn't affect how wonderful this meal was though! It looks incredible! Thank you for sharing!
I disagree Eric. Your restaurant videos are my fave! I like them more than the vending machines. 😊 Also, I’m so sorry for your loss. 💙 - your fellow lefty from TX
I like how you always explain each dish. It’s so helpful. I’ve been trying new things now at our favourite Japanese restaurant here in Canada. Some are good, some not lol 🤷🏻♀️

😢happy death day!
Sorry for your loss 🙏🙏
@@jeremyp3729how insensitive! It's an anniversary not "death day"
Thanks for showcasing this place. Made it all the way to the end.

The price point is a big bonus, too!

This is my idea of a great economical place to dine, so much variety for a great price! If only I could get such a great meal here!
I love watching the videos I have learned so much about the different foods Every time I go to a Japanese restaurant I try a new food.

Wonderfully casual meal. Thanks Eric.

You are really good about covering your dislike for certain foods. It all goes out the door with natto beans. .
Honestly all of that food looks great. I would love to hang out at a place like that and just relax. Seems like a nice experience.
Now this is my kind of place to eat. everything except the Stinky Beans looked great.
Great video! Place looks awesome..minus the nato lol
I love how they do their advertising on that board outside. 👏
Looks like you really had a good time doing this video. You can tell by your comments. Good for you
Love the new location this shoot. Variety is the spice of life.
I didn't think this would make a 6/6, wow! You're right, wood chop sticks are so much more user friendly than the plastic version.
