Shouldn’t even get that far, if someone asks what flavors you have you turn around, point at the menu where they are just in case they missed it, and then say “oh they are right here on the menu, we have chocolate, cinnamon...” like even just saying “the menu is right there” is rude. This one really hit close to home for me. My Dad had an accident as a young child that left him with a TBI, which led to him not being able to read. He was a damn hard worker though! He learned hands on what to do at the many different jobs he had, and he took things so seriously on getting the job done right. When he left a job at a casino where he replaced lightbulbs, the casino had to hire a couple more people to do the same job that my Dad did all on his own. He sure taught me how to be a hard worker, and that you can be a hard worker no matter your circumstances! When he worked a janitorial job, he taught a new hire how to do things right, no taking shortcuts. Later on that new hire told my Mom and I that he was so glad that my Dad trained him and that he trained him well.

i'm sorry for you @@BandChoirChick09
My condolences.
Your Dad was the kind of employee every company would LOVE to have. Hard working, dedicated, loves to help others, and he refused to be a victim of his circumstances. A lot of people would say "Oh, I have a TBI - I have to go on disability payments. I can't work". And they would spend their lives living off of taxpayer's money. Your Dad wasn't going to let that happen - he knew he could work to support his family, and he knew that was the right thing to do. If I owned a company, I would hire someone like him in a minute! I'm sorry for your family that he's gone now. He passed on a great legacy to you and your siblings by being the kind of person he was. You must miss him very much. 💐🙏

Ace, why would someone not know how to read? Either no one taught them or they didn’t care to learn. Point blank.
@@christopherfoote4643 you're fucked
@@lianasoares8052 you must be pretty young not to get this. It's not as cut and dry as you make it out to be. Life wasn't always peaches and cream like it is now. In most rural areas people lived rough, impoverished lives, and more often than not they had to quit school to make enough money to feed themselves and their family. It's not as rough nowadays in life with truancy laws and stuff now but I would agree anybody under thirty has no excuse not being able to read with the sheer amount of resources out there to help them. Although older people are from a different time and had a lot less resources at their disposal. But you shouldn't make such broad accusations without considering the complexity of such a topic.
I actually had this situation happen to me around 1996. A man I worked with was asked to fill out new Health Insurance paperwork for our employer. I saw him in the corner of the break room struggling to understand the large amount of paperwork in front of him. I was a supervisor, and sat down with him. I said to him quietly "Jesse? you can't read can you?" He said no, and almost started crying. I told him "o problem, lets see if we can't get this finished tonight" and I read everything aloud to him and helped him finish the forms. Then Jesse informed me he grew up in Mississippi and went to work before the 7th grade to help his family (all ten of them). The funny thing is, Jesse managed to raise two daughters, one was in Medical school, the other had just graduated law school. Later that week I found a program through the local community center to teach him to read and write, and I paid for it out of my pocket......a year later he was reading the newspaper to me. I still hear from him from time to time........by mail.

I honestly wasn't prepared to cry at the end, most of them were so compassionate, it really gives you faith in humanity once again.
First couple a legit power couple, they tag teamed that shit, she helped while he chastised, you know they’re a good happy couple and probably great parents
They did what should be done .
I just love their spirit to help. They really felt for the man.😊
She looks like his daughter 😱 You think they’re a couple? Isn’t she way too young? She’s SO brave!
OMG, this warms my heart. Great people!
I agree
he actually looks like her dad lol
To hear him say "I'm sorry to be such a bother." absolutely broke my heart. I don't think I've ever hated one of the actors more than that waitress!!
She was acting though
@@iliketowatchvideos47 Really?!? An actor was acting? I know. I'm saying she did a really good job acting, because she was really hateable.
@@jcroc5899 no need to be a sarcastic bitch
@@iliketowatchvideos47 to say that someone "hates" a character that's being played by an actor, means that the actor did their job succesfully.
edit: "they showed hate towards the ACTOR" I know what was said. but if you use your brain a little to comprehend, then you'll notice that OP was obviously talking about hating the character that's being played by an actor.
Proves she was good at it and well cast. Congrats to the team who put this together!
MAD respect for the nice lady in red. She handled it perfectly. What she says about having opportunities is just so true… it’s hard for the privileged to realize the lack of opportunities the poorer people have.
Can you tell me where is her accent from pls?
@@tasnimngayi5536 everyone in this video is in Alabama.
Yeah. This blonde girl is typical of rich, White Privilege. Snobby and disgusting.
she basically a good karen
It SHOULDN'T be hard for them to realize it. The problem was in the home and being improperly raised and having a terrible set or a lack of morals and values. That's a community of people who follow a code.
The first couple are absolutely the best of humanity. Thank you to them. Love the way they just look at each other and know they need to stand up.
I LOVE the first girl who says "my aunt can't read, its legit" because many younger generations don't understand how privileged they are to be taught to read. It wasn't all that long ago when kids seriously did quit school at super young ages (or even didnt go to school at all) so they can work to support their families. We don't have that issue in today's world so people don't understand that older folks may not be able to read. Appreciate your education.
it depends on where you live and who you are. I regret to say that you’re wrong when you say “we don’t have that issue in today’s world”… :(
@@thesleepydot I’m referring to the US which is where this takes place. The US has a mandate that all kids need to be in school, no exceptions, up to age 16 and then they can legally drop out with parental consent after that
@@mizzysparrots4874 you did say today’s “world” and not “US” so that wasn’t clear to me, but I understand what you mean now. That’s great then! Thanks for the info
It's probably many people out there that can't read. However this show is staged. Everyone is an actor. The lady in the last clip is also an actor in the clip called cashier shames elderly man for paying with coins.
@@thesleepydot Yeah it varies by country, mass literacy campaigns have caught on around the world in probably 60% of countries today, but again, it's still a problem. Even just 50 years ago, it was much more common for people to not be able to read, even in rich countries like the United States, France and Japan.
In some countries, most people (50% or more) are functionally illiterate today. This includes Haiti, Pakistan, Sudan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and others. But they're getting there little by little, with more kids learning to read every year, so there's lots to be optimistic about
This made me cry because when I was little my mother was in an accident and got a brain injury and she couldn't read after that. She was treated very rudely from that point on. I had to help her and I still do. I still remember people that would look at us and "her" like we were "less than." This brings up a lot of emotions for me.
I'm so sorry that happened but you'll all get through this🙏💗

@@katerinapetrova3389 - She's doing great, but unfortunately the damage to her brain can never be reversed. Health-wise she is fabulous. Thank you so much for asking :)
The second gal with the grandfather who cannot read is probably the sweetest woman on Earth. She was even nice to the cashier and trying to just explain to her how this kind of thing happens.
The second, she started reading off the milkshake list, had me tears. You can such sincerity in her voice
she is a very sweet person
I love how she instantly gives the waitress the benefit of the doubt and assumes she is merely ignorant instead of malicious. That's a real example of how you should treat people.
I love that young lady. I hope she is doing well with her life.
I thought the same thing. What a sweet person.
This lady that was a teacher an helps this man is do heatfelt person we need more like her love her ❤❤
my father was illiterate until he was 62. He taught himself because there was no adult program. i was shocked and amazed when he called me to come over to read the newspaper. then he showed me he could read. I have never been so proud of my father. he lived life fighting it, but he was literate when he passed. Life was always hard for him. He never blamed anyone.
God bless you and may your father rest in peace
great dad you had
Learning has no age bar...you can get education at any time...there is never too late...
very great stories. In fact it's motivating me to read.
Tell your father i fuxking love him proud of him
The actress playing the barista is very convincing.
She wasn’t acting
She just had a very punchable face
Edgy Bakuhoe O.K edgy man
Yes and very sneaky creeping into the background of shots.
Edgy Bakuhoe or she’s just a good actress. if she was playing the victim everyone would see her as that to it’s how acting works
The first couple didn’t even need to second think, they gave each other the look and stepped up. That’s amazing, I love small towns for this reason ❤️ we need more people like this
finishing a military school, my then girlfriend took me to a Wendy's for lunch, while in uniform. She was a counselor and I was an Army Reserves (1993-94). A wheel chair guy had a seizure from all the lobby commotion. Without a 2d thought, I got up and instantly cleared tables removing congestion allowing her room to work. Her voice settled him down. His unaware minder was in the men's room answering nature's call. It was a small gesture, but it was June and he bought us milkshakes as his thanks. TEAMWORK is a spectacular thing.
I once helped a man read what was on a product because he couldn't read it. Turns out he was partially blind, but to look at him, you'd think he was ok. We should all just help one another.

Then it would be like if you do good things then you expect to get something back!
I can’t even imagine just how shitty the actors/actresses feel after getting told the situation is personal
They could feel bad but I don't think they would feel shitty since they people get told they're actresses/actors anyways and they know they're also acting
But many people associated the actors'/actress' part to the person themselves...recent example I can think of is Bryce walker from thirteen reasons why...the actor himself is so good but he got bullied by stupid people and there are many.
Shut up
Gary Mcguckin hello, I think you need to shut the fuck up. Not everyone has the amazing privilege to attend school and learn how to read. Next time you are looking at Japanese, Chinese, or Arabic, you should just stop being such a dumbass and try harder.

Just realized it must really suck playing the bad guy as an actor/actress and then awkwardly sitting in the back as they’re being interviewed 😂
Traci fucking loves it, so much that she's too recognizable to play the role anymore Haha
At least she had a counter between her and the people. Think of the ones where they have someone steal something or are out in the open with patrons all around them
LOL 😂😂😂
So far none of the actors have had their looks insulted. Imagine how awkward it would be insulting them and then finding out that they're just acting. "Uh. I am sorry for saying that you look like trollish looking slob with aids."
nah they get paid to be the bad guy also they are sometimes the victims in situations like this so they understand what it means to have to face these things head on so they gladly play the part.
The actor pretending he doesnt have his glasses, then admitting he cant read was deep. It was such a good twist on it.
The adults I teach to read are very good at hiding the fact. Some men are grandfathers and have been convinced that they are incapable of learning. The pleasure I get seeing them read a story to their grandkids for the first time ever .... well, you can imagine.
