I think part of the issue with Pokemon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4 is more along the lines of this. Yes, they’re both revealed and have a 2025 prospective launch year. And while logic dictates that both games will be cross-gen with likely simultaneous release and that Switch 2 will come in early 2025 (or at least first half of 2025), Nintendo could shock us with a March reveal and possible Holiday 2025 release, which could shove one or both of Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4 into 2026. So, there are a lot of unknowns regarding both Nintendo titles, while the currently nominated titles are definitely either known or expected in 2025. They should’ve absolutely been nominated to the most wanted list. But there’s just a lot of confusion about what Nintendo is doing for 2025.
Retro Studio's is always snubbed. Their games have some of the best art styles and soundtracks in gaming and it's always snubbed. But Retro doesn't care, they don't let it bother them, they stay in their lane and they do what they do, not for fame, but out of passion! I respect no developer more then Retro Studios. They are exactly how a dev should be.
I think the reason Nintendo games in general are snubbed or left out if for two reasons, first, Nintendo never goes to their shows and forks over money to these events so they aren't going to spotlight people who don't pay for the spotlight. Second, if they were 100% fair and unbiased and let Nintendo games be on the lists, Nintendo would essentially sweep most categories and nobody else would get any attention on their games lol.
I understand the omission but I tbh I'm not really surprised. Lately any awards show has been very picky when it comes to nominating anything Nintendo or even RPG related and there's a heavy bias to western games. The Xenoblade Original score snub and win to GOW Ragnarok in 2022 made me realize that critics only really play or pay attention to these games if they're Mario or Zelda and anything that is outside of those games or slightly less popular isn't really considered. Even Octopath 2 didn't get a nomination for best RPG last year even with it being a highly regarded game. The biggest snub last year was probably Future Redeemed missing out on the nomination of best game expansion at Golden Joysticks and it going to Cyberpunk. I still think Prime 4 will be nominated for many awards next year if the game is good, but there is certainly a heavy bias to other games. As for Legends ZA, idk if that game deserves the nomination rn until they prove that it's going to be on par if not better than PLA and not a broken mess lol. Also we haven't seen any gameplay of it yet. EDIT: Also PLA getting best Nintendo game of 2022 over XC3 is...... a questionable decision lol. But the anti Nintendo and RPG bias definitely does exist when it comes to these awards shows.

I don't want Prime 4 to be some big drastic change to the Prime style, honestly I want Prime 4 to be the Halo Reach of Metroid Prime. Essentially merge Prime Hunters with Prime 4 and have a multiplayer that lasts the entire Switch 2 generation (Note I still say Prime 4 will only be on Switch but through backwards compatibility it will be playable on Switch 2.) I just want it to have a strong singleplayer like the first three Primes and have a quality multiplayer like Prime Hunters. And then you're good to go.

Nintendo had Odyssey and BOTY going head to head for GOTY and im fairly sure TOTK lost to BG3 because BOTW already got that GOTY. No no, Legends Arcues is not one of the best Pokemon games in years, it was a stripped down, bare bones Pokemon game with less content then traditional Pokemon games lol. All you did was go around the big world and toss pokeballs and Pokemon....catching the same one 30+ times for a little checklist to be checked. There wasn't any meat and potatoes to the game. There was like 4 battles in the whole game, almost no story. It was just a spin off Pokemon game that was boring as heck after 10 hours or it's game play loop.
Right now Metroid Prime 4 is probably my third most anticipated game next year behind Ghost of Yōtei and GTA 6, though if rumors are true then it's probably 5th behind Persona 6 and 3D Mario as well
I don't think GTA 6 is going to live up to the hype, after they had that data leak and footage was shown and with how the marketing in it's original trailer was very....shall we say...pandering to the inclusive woke people, I don't see it doing as well as people think it will. Prime 4 will be an undeniable big deal once it hits. Joke's on them, who fkrn care. Nintendo doesnt. Once they see their Meta scores and sales numbers.
Nintendo had Odyssey and BOTY going head to head for GOTY and im fairly sure TOTK lost to BG3 because BOTW already got that GOTY.
Nintendo's top tier games are nothing less than milestones of the industry. And we just have all these questions what Super Switch will bring to the table next year. It will be a stellar Nintendo year and they will 100% dominate.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo games, switch is my favorite console and Metroid is awesome BUT Nintendo is kinda the laughing stock of the internet rn. They are always in some sort of stupid drama that they caused and they are very anti consumer so it makes sense that some award lists wouldn't want to include them often. But IF that's true they shouldn't include Ubisoft and assassins creed because arguably they are worse.

No no, Legends Arcues is not one of the best Pokemon games in years, it was a stripped down, bare bones Pokemon game with less content then traditional Pokemon games lol. All you did was go around the big world and toss pokeballs and Pokemon....catching the same one 30+ times for a little checklist to be checked. There wasn't any meat and potatoes to the game. There was like 4 battles in the whole game, almost no story. It was just a spin off Pokemon game that was boring as heck after 10 hours or it's game play loop.
Right now Metroid Prime 4 is probably my third most anticipated game next year behind Ghost of Yōtei and GTA 6, though if rumors are true then it's probably 5th behind Persona 6 and 3D Mario as well
I don't think GTA 6 is going to live up to the hype, after they had that data leak and footage was shown and with how the marketing in it's original trailer was very....shall we say...pandering to the inclusive woke people, I don't see it doing as well as people think it will. Much like how Bethesda has said themselves, that Elder Scrolls 6 will NOT live up to it's hype lol. From what was leaked, people aren't to happy with GTA 6. Yes it's not finished yet obviously, but in the end it's just GTA.....you played one, you have played them all.

A bit melodramatic. I think its because there is no Nintendo games we really know anything about. Im a huge Metroid fan but even that we've seen noting of and Prime games have never been that successful. I agree Prime 4 should be on that list but I don't really see how anyone would rate it above any of the other games listed. All those other titles I have seen a lot more of than Prime 4 or Pokemon XZ. I can objectively see Metroid Prime is not as big as those others despite being a big fan.
Tbf I am not following much of these video games but I am pretty sure in some cases it's similar to Prime 4. Like Ghost of Yotei was just revealed recently so not much came out yet

So many more of the titles on that list have been actually shown beyond Metroid Prime 4. We know next to nothing about it that really makes it different than Prime 1-3.

15 million unit sales is blockbuster status. That's what Pokemon Arceus reached so its likely Z-A gets there too, if not beyond.
The majority of those games would love to reach 15 million because they aren't coming anywhere close. No PS5 or XboxX|S game has reached 15 yet, and only one (SpiderMan 2) has pushed over 10. So exactly what is your definition of blockbuster? Because if Pokemon Arceus isn't it, then PS5 has had none. So why then defend PS5 games like Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei being on the Most Wanted list if they aren't blockbusters? Or is your threshold for Switch so much higher that Pokemon is disqualified as blockbuster for not being north of 20 like Tears of the Kingdom while last year's Most Wanted winner, Final Fantasy VIII Rebirth, rolls in with a disappointing 2 million sales but does qualify as blockbuster?
