I went to St.james High school in 1975 in Haslingden which burnt down and rebuilt after. Miss our house 179 Blackburn Road around the corner from station Road.. My uncles worked at at Cotton factory S Wills...Great Times!
This is great, I've been in hassy for over 50 years now, though I'm not from here, and I've only seen it change for the worse, there's almost nothing but lousy takeaways here now, and a few food shops which are out of reach for some of us 'cos they insist on constantly playing some insane excuse for so-called "music" every opening minute. And where is the building at 7:48? it must be before my time here. And I once worked in one of the factories shown at 8:33, but it was demolished shortly after I left. And there's no more banks here now, and no more free cash machines either.
remember many of the old buildings.. I lived in the Cemetery on Grane road , which is also shown as was the Zion Methodist Church in Helmshore which i usd to attend . Its a shame the locations are not named with the year the pictures were taken .
This is where my grandmother and all her ancestors were born and raised. Lovely to see thank you for putting this together and uploading it!
Nigel just to say how very much I enjoy your videos they bring back to many memories thank you.
