Thank you Nigel, I Enjoyed watching this. I was born in Rawtenstall 1952 and lived in my Grandparents house 'Homefield' till I was four years of age. At one time they had a potted meat factory called Berry goods. My Grandmother Lily Berry who died at the age of 94 was very well known in Rawtenstall

Rawtenstall in those days was a busy town with the cotton and footwear industry's at its heart with lots of smokey factory chimneys

Great old historical pictures, but I think a few extra captions might help for some of us. I've been here in Rossendale since late 1971, more than 50 years and I still don't recognise some of the scenes, while some are obvious, others are not quite so familiar. And is there no pictures of the old Lord street as it was in Rawtenstall before most of it was ripped out to make way for the valley centre? And there is a chip shop in Rawtenstall which has lots of old pictures on display but I'm not sure if there's any of the old Lord street.

Yes very good Nigel but it would help if you had some titles on the locations!

Didn't the area now covered by new hall hey retail park once used to be a reservoir? There is what looks like an old culvert entrance next to the footpath there, now almost buried, wasn't that an outlet for the reservoir? Does anyone know a bit more about that?
