I really enjoyed that, brings back alot of memories,of when l was a little girl.there was alot of poverty in the old days,we had plenty of mills and employment.only the mill owners made their millions, they couldn,t have cared a toss for the people they employed.
Radcliife, along with Whitefield and Prestwich, are the forgotten boroughs of Bury, where the centre of Bury seems to be where most of the council's money is spent.
A place where improvements go terribly wrong, why are town planners employed, they're given a budget of a fiver and they wonder why it's still looking 💩 bloody shame 😢
Just look at the old grand buildings, fabulous
The bypass road was one of the final nails in the coffin for the town centre

any chance of approx dates? I lived in Whitefield 1968-1986 so visited radcliffe a lot in those days. usually by train.
Was a great little town till bury took it over
It's been all rapidly down-hill for the last 40 years.
Sadly radcliffe is the forgotten town thanks to bury
