    Scott, I just today found your channel, and I’m so excited. I’m now 76, and facing my 2nd major back surgery. I’ll be laid up at least 5 months again. But I love the gentle nature of your videos. 20 years ago I spent 38 total days solo backpacking, 3 trips, in various locations In September. I still talk and think about it everyday. Blessings to you and thanks for great videos of my favorite places. David Drake, Colorado

    I love your enthusiasm for the winter and the beautiful state that you call home. Have you ever thought of taking photography groups out yourself Scott? I know this year hasn’t been particularly kind to you but maybe in the future? 💕

    Thank you so much Scott. What a beautiful video - watching the video, the stills and the music along with your own enthusiasm for Alaska in winter honestly felt like some sort of therapy, just brilliant. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with over the coming winter months. John Clark

    We got a few pretty good tastes of aurora here in the mid-atlantic this year, it's made me definitely want to come to Alaska during this solar maximum. Between that and the spectacular wildlife and landscape, can't wait to plan a trip!

    • @WILDALASKA
      @WILDALASKA  17 дней назад +1

      Yeah that aurora has put on some good shows this year farther south which is awesome. Folks could see them as far south as Texas and Florida. Wild times.

    Alaska in winter is not something I previously considered. For a person who has lived in Hawaii for many years, I have a large collection of winter clothes, so now I'm considering a trip. Thanks for this excellently done travel/wildlife video.

    Absolutely gorgeous images and video! It’s fantastic to recognize the opportunities that winter provides for amazing nature and wildlife photography. I would love to make an Alaska trip during the winter! Scott, have you thought about leading some photography trips/workshops? Your passion and deep respect for nature, your ability to communicate so clearly, and your knowledge of Alaska would really make for a wonderful experience.

    Scott - TY so much for this film - it’s grey and drab where I am at present and your film just brought light and stunning images to my living room - I’m unlikely to ever make it to your beautiful state but with people like you I can at least enjoy it second hand - keep up the gorgeous work

    The funny thing is I haven't thought about going to the Anchorage area in the winter but your average temperatures are about the same as my home town of Underwood MN in the winter.
    This video could be part of the Alaska Tourist Board videos. Very good and I know a lot of us are now thinking about visiting in the winter.

    Thankyou for sharing such natural beauty. Excellent work as well lovely shots and exceptional videos. You've even got nice astro in the evenings. The cold is the difficult one but worth the compromise just to experience that lovely nature. Alaska seems like a wonderland, thanks again cheers.

      Good things is the Anchorage area is usually around 20-30F most of the winter and Homer/Seward area can be 20-40's most of the winter. We do get a few days in the single digits to negative, but they are more rare. Plus if the wind doesn't blow it's not that bad really. zStill cold, but bearable 😁

    Thank you for the video! I’m planning to bring my active 80 year old dad to Alaska next year, probably September for the fall colors. We will spend some days in Denali, but if he wants to see more bears - where should I take him? Can you recommend a guide?

    • @WILDALASKA
      @WILDALASKA  17 дней назад +1

      September bears you can find in Denali, but best bet is fly out to kodiak for a day or so. the bears are in the rivers close to town. You can just rent a car and look or book a guide. Message me on Instagram and I can get you in touch with some friends that may be running some trips in Sept over there.

    I live in England; where the 'wildlife' keeps distance of 'miles' and is increasingly difficult to find. I can only dream of having such things as the wildlife in Alaska to photograph. On top of this, in the UK, most of the land is out of bounds to the people and what places are open, close at 5pm (yes, even in the summer). Its so desperate here for a wildlife lover/photographer.

    • @WILDALASKA
      @WILDALASKA  15 дней назад

      It takes a lot of work to get close at times. But more built up areas with people do are it harder.
