    I don't think anyone saw this coming. But it's interesting to see united expand the feeder network to its transpacific flights. Cebu definitely would not have been possible without the guam base they got from continental micronesia

      Same here - did no see this coming. I would have said UA would have started another US mainland route from MNL to another of their hubs like EWR before coming to CEB.
      The 737-800 and the crew is very likely coming from GUM

      Its actually cool CEB is now going to have a US-based airline operating out of there.

    Why can't Japan Airlines or ANA also opens direct flights between Tokyo-Narita and Cebu?

      That I can't speak about. There is no restrictions so they are free to do so if they choose.

      I think PAL codeshares with ANA for Cebu. That and competition from Cebu Pacific, the Korean and Chinese carriers offering cheaper fares. Only way I see ANA and JAL entering the market would be through their low cost airlines, ZipAir and Air Japan.
