- Trying Malta's New ferry ride from Sliema to Valletta and back. On 18th March the new ferry terminal in Malta started operating, within 5 minutes ferry ride now you can arrive in Valletta.This is excellent for those that are planing to visit Malta. It is expected on a later stage this new ferry port to have more connection from Sliema to other cities around Malta. I've lived in malta in 2018 and I'm thinking of returning to the island. However I'm curious about the mass illegal immigration that's happening in Europe,as to how it's affecting Malta. Do you have any reliable info on the subject?

Hi Alex, I’m a British citizen originally from west Africa and been living in the Uk for over 50 years. I visit Malta & Gozo every year for the last 22 years and hope to one day retire there 😊 (but I fear Brexit may prevent me from doing so) …Keep up your good work publicising all things good about Malta ,your videos are brilliant 👍🏾

So much better than taking the bus, which we did one day. I miss Malta so much. I’m already nagging Nick to come back.. Thank you Robert, i will double check the timing, as i was on Manoel last week and the security said 18:00, it could be a wrong info or it could be a winter schedule. As i remember last summer i was at Manoel past 19:00 for sunset

Why am I not surprised that there is no “Departure” & “Arrival’s” signage at the Sliema Ferry terminal….. after all those years of delays surely you would think that it was thought thru such important information hahaha
Nothing in Malta is “thought through” the place is a mess…

If I was visiting Malta and Valletta in particular, I’d be far more interested in seeing Malta’s rich history and culture, especially it’s beautiful churches - I’ve read some articles about the history of the Maltese Cross and it is fascinating reading ❤❤❤❤

Great video just wish it wasn't mirrored when you're using the front camera. Very trippy with all the text and seeing landmarks seemingly in the opposite direction
I didnt pay attention to that as i thought my settings were already set not to be mirrored. Will make sure on the next one to be the right way
I guess the ferry still worth it, because you avoid a longer and bumpy bus ride with mostly full of people, and on the ferry you even feel more special! :D

Yes they are! Sliema to Valletta & Valletta to 3 cities (and back ofcourse😅)
I don't think the Tallinja Explore cards get free ferries, just buses. Free ferry is only for personalised Tallinja cards

Hi, i just registered for the talinja card but i think I've misunderstood you as it costs 33 euros plus postage and you have to add credit. I thought you said it was free?

Tallinja card is free for those who are residents or citizens of malta. Just letting you know:
To apply for a Tallinja Card, a customer must provide personal details which include an identification document number (Identity Card, Residence Document or Driving License in the case of a Maltese resident, or passport or other international identity number in the case of a non-Maltese resident), and proof of identity together with the name, surname, home telephone number, mobile phone number and email address.
In February it was free

Hi Alex - this ferry would be great for passengers transferring up the River Liffey at high tide for passengers and their luggage arriving off the Irish Ferries and Stena Ferries from Holyhead at Dublin Port up to Capel St Bridge - On the River Thames in London they have a similar ferry or Water Taxi, although I’m not sure if they have the same for the River Mersey in Liverpool or for the Manchester Ship Canal at Salford Quays - I’ve already made the suggestion to Transport for Ireland about this - by the way, does that card have to be topped up with credit when you buy it?
Interesting, but not this ferry, maybe the fast one that goes to Sicily. No need of top up, its €25 registration fee to get it and its valid for lifetime
@@AlexinMalta I’ve been on the Irish Ferries Dublin Swift fast ferry between Holyhead and Dublin and the ride is very rough, even on calm seas across the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin - and the Dublin Swift gets cancelled very often in rough weather, as the Irish Sea can be very unpredictable
