awesome! thanks a lot... it took me a lil while but it worked perfectly... I realized that you do have to align it in the middle (in between the two cracks in the floor) and also where you're shooting at it matters as well.. so you want to shoot straight just on the limit of the rock /concrete thing that blows up...

i remember i tried the banshee method and it took me forever to get the damn elite to follow me into the tunnel and timing it right. i raged so many times. now in MCC you can just turn on the Acrophobia skull and fly to it or turn on the scarab skull and play the whole Halo 2 campaign with any weapon and it fires the scarab beam. felt more rewarding back then

I remember i had a mate staying over at my house 2 years ago, and he fell asleep around 12, and he knew i was trying to get this scarab gun, i woke him up finally at 4 and told him i finally got it :)

its just the bit map effect they chose because when the actual scarab shoots it usually hits something that will explode so they chose to ad more debris to the effect for realism. But the scarab gun uses the same shared effect so the same thing happens
the soccer ball in halo 2 is a reference to the "'upcoming' Halo 3 fordge" item.the item is in fordge period on halo 3 and this was just something fun to mess around with until you could do it in halo 3 fordge.

its cool people are still playing this game! And ya haveing a bit of trouble on the last part going not high enough then to high.
Dude, superjumps and getting out of maps was the reason I kept playing after 2 or 3 years with it. It was a fun game with the best maps of the series. Halo 3 was like "No fun for you!" with its default maps and very few glitches. Back then I got host a lot because cable was typically the fastest connection.

the ball is so big that when the sun shines on it, the ball casts a shadow on itself (i think)
yes there is , type in Halo 3 secret AR(assault rifle) and you will see that some one got it on the storm level. and iif you think its a mod, go into pan cam and look under the building with the sniper rifle in the first part of the storm, there is a random assault rilfe there.
two things. one, these are just two of the reasons Halo will forever be one of the best games ever made. two, WHY would bungie even think to put things like this in the game. im not complaining but honestly i didnt know these easter eggs exsisted until now and im a hardcore halo fan
I don't think playing with the soccer ball or the random shooting was necessary... but this vid was helpful to get the scarab gun for multiplayer!! :)

in order to retrieve the scarab gun once atop you must be in co- op mode. Have your other player line up where you stood on the box. Then run and jump off the top towards them. If done correctly the Scarab gun can be picked up after bouncing several times.

The Skulls are in Vista. This video was recorded on Vista so i assure you that it can be done on it.
its also in reach on the mission well i forgot the name of buts its where your at the spire and the falcon crashed hijack a banshee and head the oppisite direction of the spire after a while youll see the same flating building or whatever that is and the scarb guns there
I could just imagine a trained spartan fighting through the city, and him finding a giant soccer ball and he just has to play with it. Why send endless waves at covenant at him if you could just give him a giant soccer ball?

i know a funny thing about this level. when your about to board the scarab there will be pelicans flying by and sometines one will get stuck on the wall on the other side of you. not on the exact opposite more to the left.

This does work, done it on xbox. make sure box is exaclty on how he does it, pause the vid to see exactly where he puts it.
hey in the last misson or whatever misson u teamup with the scarab........when he blows up the door just getin a banshee and go to the top then u fight the last boss and the banshee will be in the back so just get in the banshee and PWN!!!
if you grenade jump with frags remember they're stronger than plasmas and if you crouch and throw it just right, it will get stuck onto your foot for maximum jump!

you get it to follow you through the tunnel and then when you go through the part were its gold and wavey you board it and boast out of the tunnel and thats how you do it if you do it b4 that it will blow up.
There's rumors all over the net and even on steam that Halo 2 and Halo 3 will be coming to Steam So look forward to it.

You can't just come around here with your scarab gun and godsmack.
I like using the banshee because that way there is atleast a little bit of level left to use it on
You do not have to be on legendary to use the skull's abilities. Once you have picked up the skull it's abbilities will work on any difficulty.

The Sputnik Skull doesn't require fighting. You walk back at the beginning of Quarantine Zone and find there. No enemies as far as I can see.
You need the Skull because it changes the way things launch from explosions.

This video was made on PC so the skull is there. And yes you need the skull in order for this method to work
You can save and quit and the effects will stay with you. But once you fully exit the game or turn off the consol the effects are lost until you pick it up again.
@Casper0950 you have to put the difficulty on legendary to actually get the skull but after you get it you can play any difficulty and it's effect will still....effect.
but don't turn off your xbox coz it wont work then

I once found the ball but forgot you can only fall so far - dang. Also it is true there is no fighting required to get the Sputnik skull, especially Covenant - I mean come on - you're the Arbiter then...

I found this my first play-through of the game on my own. We where playing coop and I was using the wraith to try to get out of the map and we found the soccer ball on accident.
the banshee method is easier and you get to use the scarab gun earlier. Thanks for the soccer ball part that looks fun.

This video was done on PC and I have found most of the skulls on vista so as far as I know they were not removed

You dont need the sputnik skull or a banshee,there's a glitch with a warthog on metropolis that when timed right you explode it and lets you fly really high(with sputnik much higher)
Oh, god. Containment was so epic. Even though it was way too common before DLC, Waterworks was a fun map, too. I still like to watch Davidgojr's Halo 2 montage.
Halo 2's Bungie was just so good, and then a lot of them left before Halo 3. :( I mean those idiots got rid of the iconic Halo map: Blood Gulch/Coagulation. And the custom map remakes look like shit because they're in a shitty warehouse on Foundry.

do i have to finish the level where i get the skull because when i quit the level it doesnt let me jump with the rockets.
