One thing that you can draw from these two experiments is: DO NOT MESS WITH PEOPLE'S SLEEP HOURS. Literally, you can see that all the arguments & tensions come from others interrupting someone's sleep

I think they should have, as a group, established quiet hours. We did that in Girl Scouts on campouts. Those who want to stay up later still can, however they have to be quiet (whisper/soft laugh), and not interrupt the others who are already sleeping.

But sometimes kids act this way if they are left alone too. They learn to be independent and fend for themselves bcse they can't depend on their parents. I have a feeling that Sheri make help take care of younger siblings. That is why she acts so mature.

Sherrie isn't being kind, actually. did you notice how Sherrie attempted to enforce her very rigid ways onto the other girls? She was shocked when that wasn't well received, and had a meltdown as a result (wanted to leave immediately) of not being able to cope with that.
Interestingly, most comments are praising Sherrie but don't mention Charlie. Charlie repeatedly tried to protect others, prevent escalation of conflict, and yet never forced the other girls to do things a certain way. She only stepped in when conflict was foreseeable.

I think people are actually missing what's really happening here.
Sherrie wasn't being "genuinely kind". She was acting bossy and rigid; she seemed to expect the group to be thankful and grateful toward her, and when the other girls started to make fun of her, she refused to participate any longer. There are several times before she leaves when you see her obviously excluding herself.. and then other girls come over and try to console her or act protective (such as when she's sitting on the staircase).
Kids aren't stupid. Sherrie likely knows doing this will get her the attention she craves; when she couldn't get it by being the 'mother' figure, she switched to moping.
We see Sade *instantly* mimicking this switch in a bid to wrest back that sympathetic attention by locking herself in the bathroom, and later, by packing up. These two girls are very different on the surface but underneath, they both crave attention. Their main tactics for getting it are just different.

Aw, Sheri is such a lovely young girl, i feel so bad for her, it’s awful watching her be so stressed in that environment, it seems she was naturally quite advanced in being responsible and knowing what it takes to run a house hold and make a community work... but perhaps realised all too soon that the chaos was completely uncontrollable and this caused her to withdraw and become stressed, perhaps that type of chaos was not at all what she is used to and become a little too much for her harmonious nature on top of the attitudes some expressed around her.... big ups to her parents they seem to have brought up a very intelligent and caring young girl!

There's a basic principle of psychology in that: Those who care the most will always be hostage to those who care the least. In other words, the one who steps up to do the cooking and cleaning will be missing out on fun to take of the needs of others and will be both taken advantage of and then disliked by whomever is trying to take the role of leader in the group. Without order (equal division of tasks and mutually agreed consequences for not completing said tasks), a predictable level of chaos ensues, as this video demonstrates (and, if they did the same thing with boys, it would surely be even worse).

And her son said he was embarrassed at his behavior and would not have wanted to do it if he had the choice again. But he didn't elaborate either.

You say that, but as I imagine most people have seen and experienced - the home life and guidance that the parents provide heavily affect the outcome of the children.
Kids will be kids, yes. But there are normal child behaviors and then there’s abnormal. If they’re acting out, misbehaving, bullying, verbally abusing, needlessly teasing despite the fact the person they’re teasing is getting very, very upset…. Something is up.
Could be undiagnosed mental stuff, or most often just bad parenting, and/or a rough home life.
I sincerely hope that anyone watching this, anyone witnessing the more disturbing behaviors of the children aren’t thinking, “Oh no, that’s fine that’s how kids are”…. No, I hope they’re reflecting on their own parenting methods and the behaviors of their kids. In case any improvement should be made. Better to nip the weeds early before they’re set in.

The boys were certainly more destructive, they made a whole game of breaking the house at the start to see if it would get the camera crew to stop them, but there weren't as many quarrels as people are suggesting. As young as they are you can already see certain typical characterics in them. Like the peacemaker, the quiet one, the follower(s) and the antisocial, bigmouthed, in need of all the attention one. And by that I do indeed mean Sade. Keeping a whole group(!) loudly awake night after night, is antisocial behaviour. Plus getting yourself locked in the bathroom for hours a the time is manipulating and very childlike. You can already see so much difference in characters and upbringing at this young age already.

«Very childlike»? Yes, they are children!
And you, as an adult (I suppose), should know better than to make this sort of a comment. The girls are old enough to read. Shame on you.

Yes! Sade’ in particular should be ashamed of her behavior. Evidently she behaves the same at home, when told the mess was bothering everyone she said “it’s not bugging me, it just reminds me of my bedroom”, dismissing everyone else’s feelings. Not to mention dumping water on the beds (along with that other girl), and the rest of her behavior, taking the duvet off the girls in bed and keeping everyone up (purposely just bc she wasn’t being entertained and said so) screaming and yelling, blaming, bullying, causing constant fights. It makes one speculate about whether or not she has a personality disorder as an adult.

It's weird how this is nostalgic for me. I was the same age in 2002 and I can remember all the shenanigans me and my friends used to get into. I started out as a Sade and grew of that really quickly with a lot of guidance at school. Wherever Sade is now, I hope she's living a peaceful life 🌹

Sade's behaviour is typical of children who didn't get enough attention from their parents, they tend to act out and or try manipulating for attention. The other kids knew exactly what she was doing when she was locking herself in the bathroom, they'd seen the behaviour before, maybe some of them tried that and was called out on it, they knew the cure was to ignore her, that's probably what their parents did. The other girls were much more mature than Sade, even though she was taller. I don't think she is cruel at all, if anything she'd be more of a detriment to herself as people often are when they do all the wrong things to get attention. I hope she and the others made good choices for themselves and have productive and prosperous lives.
