@@FSiPanel Will be interested once it does. Impossible for me to land on a flat screen without the proper depth perception and situational awareness VR gives me
I'm curious if there are any "standards" in the aviation world used to define things like "short" final because to me, as purely a simmer, that short final seemed like an awfully long one? The pattern in generally seems awfully large for GA. That said I'm impressed what you've managed to do here given how the A2A Comanche runs on an external sim and pretty much explodes if you try to use active pause for more than a few seconds
Interesting but not something I would use. I prefer to just fly the pattern and put the plane where it needs to be for a good approach myself. Edit: When I was in flight training my instructor always said you have to learn to walk before you run and learning to fly a proper pattern is learning to walk. If your a baseball player you don't practice your batting without practicing your fielding. You need to do both.
And what if you already know how to walk in what you are wearing but need to at any moment run, jump and land over obstacles onto very precise points on the ground? You do you, but for those that know how to fly patterns all day long but want or need to get up to speed on how a particular aircraft approach’s and lands in a shorter space of time this is a nice software to have and in sim we can choose to go straight to the phase we want or need to practice and they do that in full training sims all the time. And for that reason your analogy doesn’t really make sense, especially as running around a field catching and throwing a ball doesn’t need the amount of practice hitting the ball well does so if anything your example proves this softwares point for existing.
@@WhiteHawk77 I'm sorry that the fact I didn't like the app triggered you so. Just my opinion and as for me doing me that's exactly how I roll. That's why I gave my opinion. Cheers!
@@kosys5338 I like how anyone who brings a logical argument to people like you are always “triggered”. LOL, dude, if anyone is triggered it was you by this video of the product. You are the one who felt the need to make a pointless comment on it instead of seeing it’s worth, even if it isn’t worth it to you it’s not like you didn’t attack it’s very reason for existing instead of just saying it wasn’t for you, because you did, so it’s not like you just gave an opinion on your own preferences, which would have been fine but you made it out that it wouldn’t be worth it to anyone, that using it would damage peoples skills instead of increasing them. Are you and your instructor the type that would have gone to any commercial or GA simulator training provider and told them they were doing it wrong if they skipped ahead to position the aircraft to approach for practicing landings with a pilot who already knew those phases fine but needed a bit more polish on their landings? So why do that here? This software does not stop you from flying the aircraft whichever, whenever, in fact you can even start in the pattern, it just gives you a way to accelerate the practice of the most critical phase of almost any flight, an advantage that any good pilot would be more than happy to have and in real flight training a focus on landings is absolutely made over and besides flying a pattern or even take offs when you get to a certain point in your training and flying the pattern at that point is far less important and just an unavoidable stage of travel to get to what you do need to practice. This is a sim, where we are far more likely to switch out regularly aircraft which land a bit differently, so brushing up on a new aircraft or one you haven’t flown in a while is a good thing to have, and it’s not like you are disliking a real life instructor who’s trying to make you do landings before your take offs and pattern work, this is a simulator training aid, and as a concept there is nothing to dislike. As for you doing you, well, sometimes it’s better to be a little less you and be a bit more open minded.
Great stuff, thank you very much
Thank you!
Does FSipanel have support for VR?
Not yet, in development.
