I wrote this song about my father-in-law, Dave, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. ALS is a muscle degenerative disorder that will slowly take one's life. Dave is still with us but might not have much time left on this earth. He is a born again believer in Christ and is looking forward to going home to his heavenly Father. Ever since I met Elliott, Dave has poured into me and has taught me so many things about the scripture, about loving my wife, about being a man in Christ, and business. I accredit the wise counsel I've received to him and I give glory to the One who made us both, God. Some people may look at our situation and feel sorry for us thinking we are hopeless, well, that's just simply not the case. Though we will face temporary sorrow, we have joy because our joy lies within the hope that's found in Jesus Christ alone. Dave would have me to tell you that 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ lay down his life for you and I so that we could be freed from the bondage of sin and death. Death is inevitable for us all but looking forward to eternal life with the One who died for us is pure hope and joy while we still live in this broken world. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
