Kathy Ferguson has always been class. I saw her give a 50p coin to a homeless man once with her wishes that the man "get a shower," and whilst he didn't get that shower he never forgot that moment of kindness that earned him his 50p. Rest in peace Kathy Ferguson.
The Ferguson one is quite interesting as I do remember it at the time. Man Utd's form tailed off quite a bit after it was indicated he would be stepping down and so maybe that contributed to a poor season by their standards. Also if Sven got the job then the England "Golden Generation" would have been managed in their prime by somebody else. Could that have meant better results in tournaments or was Sven actually just unlucky? I've tended to think the latter because we lost twice in QFs on penalties but maybe someone else would have made that group of players perform better to win matches in normal time. Something else I remember was how Martin O'Neill was often cited as a future Man Utd manager at that time too which may have been David Moyes a decade earlier.
