I like how over time, Gibbs gets quieter and quieter. Like before NCIS (like now) and in the beginning of NCIS, he talked a lot (more than usual). Then after Kate died, he got a little quieter. Then after Jen died, he got quieter. I wonder how he's gonna be now that Franks is dead

Season 8 of JAG - Meltdown was one of the NCIS pilot episodes aired on JAG and pre-dates season 1 of NCIS by several months.

@@vallettapetracyneran8587 in television this is known as a "backdoor pilot." The show was introduced within another show to test the audience's reaction. The NCIS cast was well liked, and so it became its own series. It's the same way that NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans started out as regular NCIS episodes but became their own independent programs. If you look up articles on "Yankee White," you'll realize that none of them ever refer to the episode as the show's pilot.

I was half expecting Baldrick to be in this...
Blackadder was not only incompetent while a bad guy used a grenade to avoid being taken alive and to try to kill Gibbs, but she was also incompetent because she was in a rush to put Harmon Rabb, Jr. away for a murder he didn't commit and didn't think what would happen if Harmon's mother came to NCIS after the injustice done to her son and to give Gibbs and everyone there a piece of her mind whether she would slap Gibbs in the face or not.
definitely a good decision not to keep her...her character didn't mesh...anyone else notice that in the jag episodes gibbs talks a lot more! lol
wish we could have had at least one episode that was just gibbs and dinozzo
ShadowRiderxx100 You should have sent Mark Harmon (Executive Producer ) of the show and tell him that is what you wanted before Waverly,left the show. But tumor is, he might return to NCIS.

The DiNozzo character was a self-centered, egotistical, narcissist and I for one was quite happy to see that character leave the show.

I thought it was really funny in the episode where Tony is in charge (after Gibbs is back working there) and Gibbs has to follow Tony's orders and he talks a lot more and then Ziva and McGee are like "I've never heard you talk so much" or something like that...and Gibbs is like "It wasn't my job to before" lol
It would've been interesting to see what Vivian Blackadder has been doing since she got fired from NCIS in 2003
She probably wasn't fired, but transferred to a backwater field office somewhere.
He may as well have. In Gibbs' view, she messed up big time and almost cost the team everything. She's a liability.

I'm glad that I'm not the only person who noticed this. Probably not Arkady, but that is the actor that plays him. Besides it would have been mentioned that he worked for ncis.
Actually, he had glasses in the first few episodes of NCIS, they disappeared sometime after ep 5

Tony and Vivian might have a reunion together offscreen when Blackadder was in Paris, France on vacation. I think they are in a relationship together.

@FrancisMcMahon1 - Agree with you. I remember how Gibbs tells Tony and Vivian, that how much he is "focused" on his job. Vivan tells Tony, "I WISH I AM NOT THE FOCUS." How dumb!

@mjarbar It's just because Michael Weatherly needed glasses in real life. They decided the character had better-than-perfect eyesight, so you don't see them in the show proper (except once briefly in S1, but I'm guessing that was a mistake).

@Biancafan22 if you watch some of season 1 then some of season 8, Gibbs is much happier and smiles more in season 1
I think former Special Agents Vivian "Viv" Blackadder (Robyn Lively) and Don Dobbs (Thomas Anthony Jones) did returned in NCIS season 21 to attend Ducky's funeral offscreen.
A surprise that it hasn't been revealed what happened to Vivian Blackadder after she got fired by Gibbs. Did she go back to where she worked before she came to NCIS, or did she move far away from Washington, D.C. to start over?
I wish they would bring her back for at least one show or something. I like her in Ice Queen and Melt Down!!!!
If Harm's mother had testified on his behalf after Vivian Blackadder was in such a rush to put Harm away because she believed he killed a woman who was a US Navy JAG, would Blackadder's conscience attack her whether she would or wouldn't see Harm's mother crying in the courtroom at JAG HQ because she lost her husband years earlier and that her son, who looks like his father, sans the mustache, was going to be sent away for a murder he didn't commit? Though Harm may have forgiven Blackadder after the real killer was found, Harm's mother certainly wouldn't.
True. One minute she is there one nasty look later she is gone. Either this is a new way of firing people or Gibbs sent her to the Black Hole of ex Navy people LOL
Special Agent Vivian Blackadder was not seen or mention again after this JAG episode.
This was due to a poor audience reception of the character. Donald P. Bellisario said himself he felt that Robyn Lively (the actress who played Blackadder) was too "soft", so the character was dropped when NCIS began.
IceGirl2772 I am not at ALL familiar with this TV series or what's going on. I just read that the actress Robyn Lively got dropped like a sack of potatoes... l never heard WHY? Thanks for the info. I like her.

In NCIS Season 1, episode 1, Kate is hired to fill the slot created by the departure of Blackadder.
She was fired by a sniper as she stood between Gibbs & DiNozzo and was shot in the head .

Robin Lively should return in NCIS season 21 to reprise her role as Vivian Blackadder where she would join the returning Mark Harmon (Leroy Jethro Gibbs), Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo), Cote de Pablo (Ziva David), Pauley Perrette (Abby Sciuto), Emily Wickersham (Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop), Jennifer Esposito (Alex Quinn), Maria Bello (Jacqueline "Jack" Sloane) and Thomas Anthony Jones (Don Dobbs) to attend Ducky's funeral if they're going for that direction. And that way Blackadder and Gibbs can bury the hatchet towards each other.
I'm glad Blackadder was gone before season 1 started. She was not right for show.

Since this is Vivian Blackadder's only appearance in the NCIS universe, it was always presumed that she was fired because of this. There is also the possibility that she made the choice to resign on her own.

Tony and Vivian might have slept together after she was fired from NCIS and she got pregnant with Tony's child before Kate joins NCIS and she kept it as a secret for 21 years and if Tony still stay in touch with Viv through phone calls to each other even if both of them got new cell phones and new cell phone numbers, but can't see each other anymore offscreen. If it is ever mention in the JAGverse franchise.

I would be surprise if she would return to Ducky's funeral and she and Gibbs have a talk after the service about the mistake she made years ago and Gibbs somehow forgives her after what she did, it's sort of bury the hatchet between them. I think she and Tony has been secretly been in touch with each other over the years after her firing from NCIS, I know Tony was a womanizer before he met his true love Ziva. But of course this would happen offscreen.

she made one mistake and she got fired for that but kate and ziva make mistakes all time and they still got their jobs
Kate and Ziva are both dead.
The difference is, she made a very stupid and deliberate mistake by openly staring at their target in a stealth operation that led him onto the fact that they were after him before NCIS were able to get into place. That nearly killed the entire team. Plus, they wanted to take him alive. Kate and Diva made mistakes and so has Tony, everyone does but Gibbs is very protective of his team and Adder just about ended them there.

@StingKing456 her "baggage" makes her a strong person, unlike kate... who only has history working as the president . ziva's a hardass and i think she fills in better than kate does, it's her character. like abby with her weird goth-ness, the bowling with nuns and creepy exes.
