I think the reason Dinozzo said that line was to keep him from moving
for most of the episode the villain was either below the window or moving
when Dinozzo talked about 'True Lies' the villain paused to check that he was still tied up, said his comeback, followed by the sniper comment, the whole time he was standing still, still processing
Dinozzo's entire performance was to A) Locate Ziva within the compound B) Keep antagonists from further harming/killing her and C) Set up any of said antagonists for Gibbs to eliminate once the troops were ready
He did this while beaten, bound, and pumped full of McGuffin grade truth serum
as badass as Gibbs is......Tony Dinozzo might be just as scary

Not sure how I feel about Kasie. I've only seen up through the end of Season 15 (as that's all Netflix has atm), so I haven't gotten a lot of her in Abby's shoes yet. Roommate and I are gonna go splitsies on Paramount to watch 16-18, so I'll figure it out then.

Here comes Tony running his heart out, shooting every bad guy he saw while shedding his shoes and coat to jump in to save him. Gibbs knew he'd come. @Bill Randall Luck has nothing to do with it. With modern equipment and the right training a 1000 yd cold bore kill is not impossible. My father was a British Army armourer and his sport was Bisley shooting. I regularly saw him make 2-3 MOA groups at over 500 yds.. That really was an awesome episode. Perfectly timed between Tony and Gibbs. He could take out a man from 1,000 yards away and Gibbs is a professional sniper.

If Gibbs was a mile away, he would have shot the moment the word "sniper" escaped Tony's mouth. Also, saleems reaction says he was confused and probably alarmed by tony's statement, delaying him long enough for the bullet to go through his head.

"...I figure, the last thing that went through his head, besides that bullet, was, 'Wait, sniper?'"

      Yeah that bugged me.
At that distance, they wouldn’t have heard it so fast.
And, I find it like, stupid that he isn’t running with a suppressor or at least a flash hider.
And what’s with the glare from his scope? A professional sniper would never let that happen

@@DeathByLego You'd be surprised how useless those things are in a war zone. That and snipers + silencers are literally just a police tool and even then those rifles are special and factory built with the silencing function.
