I like you on the silver studio! Curious on the reed used? Beautiful sound. However a little harsh for your style which is smoother. Have you tried the new Theos or Jody Jazz?

    •  Год назад +1

Hi thank you ve much! I'm playing Legere reed (2), which is 16years old...Really, I'm not kidding,:-) Theos and Jody i didn't try, bud especially Jody is very interesting for me and i want to try it in future!

super cool! did you honestly feel any difference between the standard pieces and the handmade ones? Thanks.

    •  Год назад +1

my impression of the handmade models is that these models may have been a bit richer in sound, but the playability was a bit more difficult...but that's just my opinion

Been playing on Guardala old studio silver mpc. since 1989 when I bought it from Rod Baltimore's in NYC before going to my gig with Lionel Hampton band I even used it that night! I am still using it today and can't seem to find anything better. I am worried that it's gonna give out one of these days or if I drop it by accident. I have a MBII in Gold that I had gotten like 12 years ago from WWBW. The newer teeth plates are garbage not even close to the original pink resin solid ones Dave himself used to replate my studio piece as well as replace my tooth platingI was lucky enough to live 15 minutes from his factory. I recnetly had a friend of mine melt solid plastic resin into the MB II tooth plate much better but this MBII is not even close to my old studio piece.. I also do not care for the Rovner style ligature that the newer mpcs. come with. The Selmer metal alto ligatures are the best for the tenor, ,luckily I found a few spares since they are hard to find now. I cannot seem to find any other old studio mpcs. that I could purchase as a spare. I know there is a company called Retro Revival that is making a Guardala style mpc. but I do not want to chance spending that kind of cash ( you cannot return it for refund) if I do not care for it. I do like your sound of the newer studio mpc. from this video. Not sure if I should chance it! I have a SYO's piece for my alto which is awesome not sure if I should try it on my tenor. I had been using an old studio metal on my alto but way to bright. Any thoughts?

and which one did you prefer? I ma interested in the MB hand made as it sounds better in the low register. What do you think?

    •  Год назад

in the end I chose the silver MBII (7*) model because I was looking for a mouthpiece for pop and rock music with rich sound in high register, but It's true, that handmade models have great lower register

@ Thanks! very interesting because I ordered a PMS silver MBII last week and I sent it back because my T.Klum London precision just blows it away in all registers. Personal taste ...

Parece el sonido del gato Barbieri un poquito más de modernidad hay que probar con otro Ginette a ver
