Oh Pete..... I've driven an Atom around Oulton Park, they're loud & lively, mental quick, easy to place, just mad fun... but not a daily! We had a Nomad where I used to work & it was more grown up, more "useable", so the Atom is the weekend garage car & the Nomad is your daily 😂
I've never even seen an Nomad in the wild, but from the descriptinons and feelings portrayed here they must give you the same thrills and sensations as a high performing off-road motorcycle. Lots of instant power, suspension that tackels anything and a big smile on your face.
I have said this before, and I say it again: the best car channel on RUclips! And you seem to test and drive all my dream cars, like this one, and the GT40. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Finland!
Tamiya RC cars catalogue and Halfords to stare at the BMX bikes- your took a middled man back to 1982! Simple boys dreams before mortgage/ kids/ tax! Thanks for the happy memories!!
Absolutely superb review, I’m glad there are still companies out there making cars like these. I have been taken around dunsfold track in a Aton, not only was the acceleration mind blowing but it was the braking capability and how fast it cornered, it made the drive home in my at the time car a VX220 Turbo feel slow and as comfortable as a big Mercedes.
Can't beat a quick blat up Bury Hill , that new bit of tarmac from Storrington to Amberley just shows what they could do to a lot of roads round West Sussex SMOOOOOTH !!!!!
What a crazy weapon of a car! Sir Pete that bike was epic to! So cool. One of my coworkers loves bikes like that so I had to show him to! also always a great video when your inner child comes out lol!
Already on my Dribble List. Oh, my business partner was with the Hendy Group doing the FPT (Fiat Power Train) course on Marine Diesels this week. We are the biggest (and fastest, think 4 days) FPT repower workshop for the South.
Ped, another great video!. Can't get enough of that supercharger whine! I had an MEV Rocket Kit car (Atom-a-like) for a bit and the worst thing about it was keeping it clean - the amount of exposed surface area on the chassis tubes. Taking the Nomad off road would see that issue multiplied, but I would guess that the adrenaline and fun factor would also be multiplied!. Definitely a 2nd or 3rd car though. (A garage something like: 911 GTS daily, new M2 as an alternative daily and track weapon, and a Nomad (or Atom) just for a blast!).Keep up the great content!
I've driven an Atom on Elvington Airfield, absolutely bonkers quick, the torque it pulls in 5th gear means you only need to change down from 6th to 5th for most corners, especially as it is so placeable, hitting the apex is easy as you can see the front wheel so you can carry some fast speed through even tight chicanes. Biggest problem I had with the Atom was having to wear a helmet because it had no windscreen, so you lost peripheral vision so I kept having to look down and across for the gearbox
I spent a wk driving around crete in a 1000cc Joyner....by the beach,to the supermarket,in the mountains...arse on the tarmac no windscreen,Best fun in a car ever.
Hi PP, what a absolute Weapon, I love a Supercharged Engine, the sound is awesome, much better than any Turbo any day of the week , in my opinion. One of your very best videos PP, the Excitement came across so well. Yes I too would have one after watching you having so much fun with it. "Driving God" You nicked that saying from Richard Hammond from an episode of TG, James & Jeremy took the wee wee out of him for saying that. Yes PP you must get your hands on one again and take it off road, now that would be something to see.👍😁
I feel like I am driving God! 🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣had to pause, rewind and put the captions on to confirm that you really said that! OMG! 🤣🤣 I used to work in a dealership that sold campagna t-rex. 2 wheel in the front one in the back, super bike engine powered. We had the 30 minutes delivery wanting time. A customer that pick one up either crashed it in the first 30 minutes or he came back later for service!💁♂️😉🤣🤣👌👍
Great video Pete; a couple of weeks ago, having completed a 90 minute test with a lovely chap called Shaun, and having mentioned I subscribed to your channel and seen your Masters video, he mentioned he’d done a 90 minute drive with you! It would be great to compare notes!!
Fun to watch your reactions Pete. I had an SC Atom for 2 years and laughed like you for the whole time I owned it. Can I bring my hybrid turbo 718 Cayman to you some time soon?
Hey PP, you missed a trick - you should have had at least one more camera, pointed at the drivers coming at you - their faces would have been priceless!! Maybe one facing each kerb to see the awestruck pedestrians too!! 👍👍👍
Brilliant. Looks like a you had a lot of fun there fella. How many new friends would you make if you had one of those? Every neighbour would want to have a go in it.... :)
I'm pretty sure the Cool - Dick ratio is far more favourable in the Ariel than in a Lambo!! Plus the cash savings are pretty good. Definitely something I would love to own if I was blessed with a few more £s in the bank!! 👍👍👍
No-one spotted the bee falling down by his nuts at about 10:30 then? I was waiting for the screams… :-) The ‘makes 60 mph feel like 160mph’ is what I like about my TVR too…
My first reaction … 1100 kilos !! That steel trellis comes with a massive weight penalty. Should be sub 800 for such a stripped out weapon. Fun though. And shocking when that supercharger starts screaming
@@PetrolPed See, other verhicle never get presented with max weight, there you get a dry weight without fluid or if lucky with fluids and half a tank of gas.
How is the kerb weight 1,100kg when everywhere else quotes under 700kg? Can someone explain, please? At 3.28 in the video, there's a plaque that says: 1100kg ; 1 - 400kg ; 2 - 700kg, so I'm obviously missing something.
You are correct. It has about a 700kg kerb weight The 400kg is the amount of additional weight it is rated to carry I believe. 1100kg being the total permissible gross weight.
Believe the Nomad is circa 670kg. Giving it 447 bhp/ton. No wonder it felt so fast. I was watching the video and thinking there is no way the Nomad can be that much heavier than an Atom and the same weight as an Alpine 110. I am not sure what the chassis plate signifies.
Peter's inner excited child has been released, the huge grin, the excitement... Mrs Ped watch out, he might buy it😂
I think your constant grin/smile says it all. It did look a lot of fun.
😂just imagine, the rest of your life would be in slow motion 😂
Fantastic video Pete!! Perfectly captured the pure driving fun of the Nomad! A pleasure to have you at the barn 😊
Thanks again for your help mate 👍
Definitely in my 5 car garage. The good that car must do for mental wellbeing is immense. One of my favourite recent videos of yours 👍
I've never even seen an Nomad in the wild, but from the descriptinons and feelings portrayed here they must give you the same thrills and sensations as a high performing off-road motorcycle. Lots of instant power, suspension that tackels anything and a big smile on your face.
A Big Boys Go-Kart with a Super Charger wine to die for. 👍👍
I have said this before, and I say it again: the best car channel on RUclips! And you seem to test and drive all my dream cars, like this one, and the GT40. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Finland!
Oh man, had a go in an Atom round Mallory Park, utterly awesome motors, the Nomad looks even more fun, and with a windscreen....result!!
Tamiya RC cars catalogue and Halfords to stare at the BMX bikes- your took a middled man back to 1982! Simple boys dreams before mortgage/ kids/ tax! Thanks for the happy memories!!

What a brilliant video, I watched it with a huge grin on my face!
Every Man needs an Atom in his Shed...... Good work PP... How about you putting "Screamer Lady" in the Passenger seat???? lol :-))
Man that looks a blast but very easy to get you into trouble, great one Pete, that supercharger wine is something else!!!
Love your videos as you drive my Sunday fun day biking route passed Whiteways Cafe.
Love those WS roads. On my daily commute, I used to choose my route according to the slow cars in front of me!!
Looks like great fun! Very enjoyable video.
There might have been old man noises getting in and out but inner child noises the rest of the time! What a thing and what a video. WANT!
I think the "you're cool to you're a dick" ratio should be part of all car reviews!!😂
looked like great fun......maybe one day
Absolutely superb review, I’m glad there are still companies out there making cars like these.

@@ginggur17 me too😄
Loved this one Pete .... What a car 🥳
Blimey - I could never afford one, but to drive one for a day, what a giggle that would be :-)
Can't beat a quick blat up Bury Hill , that new bit of tarmac from Storrington to Amberley just shows what they could do to a lot of roads round West Sussex SMOOOOOTH !!!!!
Epic ride and oh so quick !!! 👍🏻🇨🇦
Great to see you enjoy one.
It's always been a car in my hypothetical Lotto win garage.
Totally bonkers car, I definitely want one. Great vid Ped.
What an intriguing & bonkers vehicle!!! Definitely interesting to say the least & great content for the channel 👌👌👌

That is just something you need, just for fun on a Sunday 😂😂.
Probably best to avoid any accidents in this car. If you can forget that thought it's 100% up there. Cool video...again! Cheers.

This is a fantastic video Pete, great smart phone mirroring to my 65" screen in 4k!!!
Oh wow…how cool 😎
@Petrol Ped Great viewing too 😎

Ooh this’ll be good. Saved for this evening with a glass of wine and headphones on!😂
thank you for the video
You're welcome
TBH, I was drooling over the sight of the Yamaha V-Max in the garage behind you, Pete. (What a thing, though, what a thing!).
Brilliant film
That sounds crazy
Nice toy 😀👍👍👍....this car is too expensive to enter my country🙈🙈🙈 so I decided to build an Ariel Nomad myself
Cool 👍
Outstanding!
Andy Ruffell... Well there's a blast from the past. 👍👍
Wow what a beast. That supercharger whine is unbeatable Just like in the R53 MINI
Are you going to buy it 😂😂😂😂😂 it is the best review you have done in ages
I have an Ariel ace on Oder can’t bloody wait
I,m lost for words Ped🤓
Me too 😂
Fabulous video Ped and what a fantastic car however for me it would have to be the RS Escort
Fantastic vid. That thing is mad and brilliant.Nicely driven.Would love to get one of these off road.
Love it I was no 100 watching the video 💚💛🏁
Hi Pete
Only me
Guess what
I live just up the road where Arial Atoms and Nomads are made
You need to visit them
It's outstanding 😊
Great fun, you needed a bandana to complete the look 😃
That looked like fun 😊
Hello Sir. Stunning RS, awesome R8, the Nomad is a lil Firecracker. ❤❤❤❤👍👍🇬🇧
My 'dream' car is the Porsche 911 Dakar. A number of RUclipsrs have said that is like a more civilized Nomad.
Yeah having driven both I get that 👍
Its in my dream garage when my numbers come up.
Eagle low drag GT
Audi TTRS (daily)
Supercharged nomad
Nice 👌

Had fun just watching
What a riot!
The Raleigh is bonkers. Never saw one in that condition and I cheer it even as a full GT boy. Until 2000 as they were built in the US by hand. ❤
Absolutely on my lottery list. Have driven and love the Atom but for the road I think the Nomad would be ace.
Fair enough!
I love superchargers, i fitted one to my NA mx5 and it transformed it , love the sound too....love the Nomad..shits and giggles all day

What a car ! Possibly the best ever 4 cylinder engine , not that I am biased .
A sequential box might be a good idea.
I think you should buy this Car before anyone does 😊
A big 👍 from me Pete. Just imagine what the Atom 500 V8 is like.......
Unbridled joy, it should be yours.
Brilliant. I'd love one. Mrs C's not so keen
Take it to Good Wood in June.
Yep that’s the fun factor sorted. 😂😂👍👍👍
Thank you Peter, now your in a real fun machine!
So all that remains for me to ask is this...
When are you getting your own?
Super video.
You can't get that type of driving pleasure from an EV.
Petrol rules
Hey Ped I WANT ONE NOW! You should buy it yourself though fella! Probably within your reach...............😮
Better inversion protection than my Caterham. Definitely needs the whip aerials with pennants though.....
Hey PP, you missed a trick - you should have had at least one more camera, pointed at the drivers coming at you - their faces would have been priceless!! Maybe one facing each kerb to see the awestruck pedestrians too!! 👍👍👍
❤Great video Pete need more whine 😎
Pleased that in our age of legislated this and sanitised that, this is even allowed. Marvellous.
👍
Now then. Report to the naughty step for 10 minutes. That brought out the inner Hooligan didn’t it? Have a word with yourself 😂
Brilliant. Looks like a you had a lot of fun there fella. How many new friends would you make if you had one of those? Every neighbour would want to have a go in it.... :)
If my lottery ticket comes good tomorrow, this will be on my hit-list of purchases.
Get Jo in it for a bit of screaming 😂
How do you think the non-supercharged one would compare?
I'm pretty sure the Cool - Dick ratio is far more favourable in the Ariel than in a Lambo!! Plus the cash savings are pretty good. Definitely something I would love to own if I was blessed with a few more £s in the bank!! 👍👍👍

Found out that is maximum kerb weight (ie with 2 passengers and payload)
Can you climb in through the roof instead of the blocked dukes of hazzard in from the side?
