I do this too. You can get the Wilton clear silicone cups on amazon and eBay, a pack of 12 for $10. Sometimes I want to change out wax when the wax I’m using still has lots of scent life left in it. I wouldn’t want to throw away perfectly good scented wax! This way with the silicone liners, I can easily change wax with no mess and no having to wipe the warmer bowl down to clean it. Once the swapped out wax cools down, it just plops right out of the silicone cup and I save it for future use. This is the easiest way to swap out scents! No waiting, no mess, no wasting Cotten balls or tissues, no chance of breaking your warmer bowl, etc. It’s awesome!
This is a great idea! I use little foil tartlet pans, because I mostly use warmers with a candle and I'm not sure if the temp would be too high and damage the silicone (probably not, and maybe I can figure out the temp). I will try the silicone cup hack on my light bulb warmer though. In reading the comments here, it seems like most people don't get that you WERE NOT trying to get out the wax to necessarily throw it out, or that you WERE just offering an alternative to the obvious ways of getting the wax melt out of the warmer. I know how much work goes into making videos and how some comments (even if they miss the mark of commenting on the actual point of your video🤦♀️) can make creators feel. This was a great video and hack, and the first video of yours that I have ever seen - and I'm a new sub because of this video.👍
Omg I found you because I searched to see if I can melt soap in a wax warmer and to see what you have done sent my mind in a brainstorm 😄🤗 I'm going to get me some of those silicone thingys and also some essential oils bc I have alot of candles that I bought from thrift store that doesn't have a smell. Thank you for sharing 😍🤗💃
Absolutely fantastic idea with the silicone cups. You can reuse each scent if you want, and when it doesnt scent the room well enough any more, I put it in a clothes drawer or closet.
This is a great tip thank you for the video. What I usually do is I put the top piece of my warmer with the wax in it in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then the wax just pops out.
I just got a wax warmer and various wax melts for Christmas and have no experience with them. Thank you so much for this hack and Merry Christmas abd Have a happy New Year!
You can just put in the fridge after it’s solid. About 5-10 mins. The wax will pop out as one whole big piece when you got to chip at it. I do it all the time
Yes, I'm using this tip. Since I'm just getting started and only have one warmer it let's me try more options because I don't have to "clean" the dish.
Learn something new everyday. Not what I was looking for. I was looking for using essential oils in a wax warmer for diffuser. But like this video anyway.😅😂❤😂
my husband taught me to turn the wax melter on just long enough for the wax mass to let go of the tart warmer then just plop it in the trash. i use a popsicle stick to poke at it every few min as it warms up until it dislodges lol then just wipe with a paper towel or something.
Hard to watch the first couple seconds. Lol. Who does that? Who has that much time... to fight all that dried up wax, attempting to scrape it into a trash can? To each their own I guess. Your idea is great if you change scents often. Personally though, I (finally) found one that I really liked and prefer to just always use that same scent. When they get dull, I drop (into the hot, melted wax) however many cotton balls it takes to fill the bowl. They absorb it quickly. Then I'll use a dry paper towel to remove the bowl (as it'll still be warm) and wipe the cotton balls out. It's quick and most importantly...no mess! Viola! Nice n clean and ready for the next couple of cubes!
I use the flippins once in a while. I wouldn't store any wax in ziplock bags as it will pull all the fragrance out of your melts. Polypropylene bags are pretty cheap and won't do that. ☺️
I have that EXACT same wall plug in wax melt unit! Since I keep it on most of the day & into late evening, can you tell me if the silicone holder does well for that length of time? The only reason I ask is because my birth mother’s trailer caught fire more than two weeks ago causing her to lose practically everything. In fact, her (adopted) daughter is staying with my husband & me in order to go to school since she attends the same high school our two daughters graduated from years ago. Despite my pleadings over the years, she didn’t have homeowners insurance. Between the fire, smoke, & water to put the fire out, it’s a 99.9% loss. 😢 Even worse, my birth mother is almost 72yrs old with heart & breathing problems, as well as severe osteoarthritis. There’s not much we can do for her. I’m legally blind w multi autoimmune diseases & I care for a husband who has health problems. As you can imagine, I’ve been a bit more adamant about fire safety at home regardless of the fact we’ve got homeowners insurance, the nearest fire station is less than a minute from us, & it takes longer for a house fire to spread than a mobile home. We’ve suffered through smoke damage then professional clean up a couple decades ago when the fire box in the gas pack of our heating unit cracked. That was nightmare enough for one lifetime. Thanks for the tip! Btw, have you ran across any cups in the shape of the new Yankee Candle melt cups? I’d like to find something in that shape so I can use other wax melts, including Yankee Candle. I have several packs of the YC wax melts from before buying the wax melt cup style warmer.
Real question: Can someone explain to me why you don’t just add your new cubes to the old wax? Isn’t this wasting wax melts to just throw the wax away?
Putting the the top of wax warmer that you put the wax in..in the freezer for about 10mins...turn it over and pop it in your hand..comes out completely!!!
Help!! My wax melter light bulb won't turn on. My cousins were messing with it and the thing that holds the light bulb is super loose, so do I need to change the lightbulb or get a new wax melter?
I just bought 2 wax warmers one is sensational brand and the other from Amazon I can't smell a thing when i warm the wax melts, what am i doing wrong, could it be the wax?
I have recently found out that there are wax cubes at Walmart called Scent Sensational (something along those lines) and they smell so strong and exactly like whatever scent you are buying!!!! I will never ever use anything but this from now on not even Yankee wax melts or Better Home and Gardens!!!!
Thanks this truly a great trip or trick. It Is so easy and wasn't something I would have thought of doing. Thank You, so much for sharing this idea. Yes, you were nervous but you still Gave a good job.
Hey Brandi, I see no one answered you, I'm a Scentsy Consultant, if you want me to send you a catalog with samples I can do that just email me at waxgoodiesforyou@gmail.com :)
As a scentsy consultant, just stick a cotton ball when warm and it absorbs it all up! Why have a pretty warmer if your going to put a cupcake liner on top of it 😂
Never down the toilet. It would set to be solid, it doesn't stay liquid when it's cold and gradually the sewerage system blocks up along with all the other things that shouldn't be put down there. Only paper that will break down. Liquid wax could be poured onto grass or into the garden then picked up and disposed of when cold or maybe broken up into small bits to encourage break-down.

I just dump the wax out while it's hot 😂
saame lol
Sarah jane weaver that’s wasteful
Ditto... I just pour it back into the plastic container it came out of.
Same lol
Sarah jane weaver facts was just thinking the same
Try putting the tray in the freezer for a few minutes, it'll pop right out.
When I’m done with a certain wax, I will turn it on to melt and soak it up with cotton balls. Works great.
That’s what I do. Thought everyone did it but I guess not
How smart! Do you know how to "refresh" the tarts so you don't have to keep buying them?
If u turn it on for just a few min, u can literally pinch it out when just the bottom layer warms up.
OR you can just put the warmer in the freezer and the wax will literally fall right off
Awesome! Thanks for the hack, love this idea. Also can I just say you're so pretty, your face deserves to be infront of the camera :) x
Thanks! Also, no need to apologize for being any portion of you! Umm away or but away, we are here for the info you share. 😊Its ALL good!
Thats why i buy fragrance oils. You dont have to worry about the wax
Genius. I used to just pop my wax in the freezer but I like your idea better
Absolutely fantastic idea with the silicone cups. You can reuse each scent if you want, and when it doesnt scent the room well enough any more, I put it in a clothes drawer or closet.

So very clever! Just got a tart warmer and I did not want to melt the tarts directly in it. This video is just what I was looking for. Thank you!
That is really nifty. You don’t waste the wax and can switch out scents...cool
I just got a wax warmer and various wax melts for Christmas and have no experience with them. Thank you so much for this hack and Merry Christmas abd Have a happy New Year!

Yes, I have been doing this for a few years and I love it! Works every time! TFS! God bless you!
YAAAAASSS! This brilliance should be bottled! Being crafty and...some what of a miser,
I appreciate you doll!
Thank you. Just got my first one today. Wanted to know how to use it.
If the scent weakens add a bit of fragrance oil to the melted wax to save money 😊
Yes, I'm using this tip. Since I'm just getting started and only have one warmer it let's me try more options because I don't have to "clean" the dish.
Thanks for coming out...you did great!
Great idea. Just purchased a silicone liner from etsy to use!
Learn something new everyday. Not what I was looking for. I was looking for using essential oils in a wax warmer for diffuser. But like this video anyway.😅😂❤😂
You GO GIRL! Thanks for sharing! This is awesome. Never wouldve thought of it
I only just bought a wax warmer because of this hack. I wanted something lower maintenance than a candle! 😀
my husband taught me to turn the wax melter on just long enough for the wax mass to let go of the tart warmer then just plop it in the trash. i use a popsicle stick to poke at it every few min as it warms up until it dislodges lol then just wipe with a paper towel or something.
also, you can soak it up with a paper towel when it’s still warm (if you’re going to throw it away)
And it will look like a recess cup!
Hard to watch the first couple seconds. Lol. Who does that? Who has that much time... to fight all that dried up wax, attempting to scrape it into a trash can? To each their own I guess.

Ingenious! When you say "store them in bag for later"... after it melted it can be reused? Does the smell stay the same?
Would it work if it’s a non- electric wax burner holder or silicone catch fire
Great idea! Wouldn't have thought of this myself
Why not just pour it out while it's still liquid and then wipe out with a paper towel (if you're going to throw the wax away anyway)
All you need to do is let the wax warm a bit then it'll pop right out.
Great idea! I don't have silicone liners. Can I use tin foil or a foil cup cake liner instead?
I just put cotton balls inside where the wax is and let them soak up the wax and then throw in the trash. It's so simple and cheap.
I use the flippins once in a while. I wouldn't store any wax in ziplock bags as it will pull all the fragrance out of your melts. Polypropylene bags are pretty cheap and won't do that. ☺️

Are used to use those silicone muffin things for encaustic painting when I used to teach painting with hot wax.
Ida thunk you just melt the wax and pour it out rather than scrape it out while hard but this is a pretty good idea.
Just put dryer lint in the warmer. It absorbs everything
While it’s hot I just use dryer lint and it absorbs all of it great
It’s awesome but those liners take away from the beautiful warmer do they make them clear
Real question:
Can someone explain to me why you don’t just add your new cubes to the old wax? Isn’t this wasting wax melts to just throw the wax away?
Ohhh!
Putting the the top of wax warmer that you put the wax in..in the freezer for about 10mins...turn it over and pop it in your hand..comes out completely!!!
Brilliant idea thanks
You might as well get a candle
Omg that sounds me but like i wonder if they sell wax dishes made from silicon so you can do this
They actually do. I just got a small plug in warmer with a silicone cup from a company called happy wax. It’s great!! :)
Can you use paper cupcake wrappers or does it have to be silicone?
What if you need a replacement dish for a square wax warmer?
I just put the warning plate in my freezer
Could I use tin foil OR a foil cupcake liner instead?
I just put my in the freezer for about 5 mins and it pops right out!
Will they melt if left on all day?
Can you use this for one that you have to use a tea light candle for
Wow. Brilliant. 🤗. Thank you. 🇨🇦
I use these but the smell of my wax melt is t as strong when I’m using these sadly
good idea.
Help!! My wax melter light bulb won't turn on. My cousins were messing with it and the thing that holds the light bulb is super loose, so do I need to change the lightbulb or get a new wax melter?
Toss cotton balls in when it’s melted
Very useful tip. Thanks!!!
And u can reuse the wax?
Killian Moore yes, many times!
Or u could just heat it up then empty the wax?
Love it! TY!
WOW MY LIFE IS CHANGED! LOL LOL LOL LOL
I just bought 2 wax warmers one is sensational brand and the other from Amazon I can't smell a thing when i warm the wax melts, what am i doing wrong, could it be the wax?
Jennifer p yeh probably the wax , home bargains sell nice wax and also a shop on insta called home aromas !
I have recently found out that there are wax cubes at Walmart called Scent Sensational (something along those lines) and they smell so strong and exactly like whatever scent you are buying!!!! I will never ever use anything but this from now on not even Yankee wax melts or Better Home and Gardens!!!!
Awesome I needed that tip...thank u :)
I just use cotton balls and it soaks up east peasy
Thanks this truly a great trip or trick. It
Is so easy and wasn't something I would have thought of doing. Thank
You, so much for sharing this idea.
Yes, you were nervous but you still
Gave a good job.
You're welcome, and thanks!
brilliant!
Nice one
Place the warmer in the freezer for 6 hours, it will come right out.
Thanks Sara, great tip
I use aluminum cupcake liners
Just heat it up for a few minutes and use a fork to lift out the wax in one piece. Easy Peasy.
Why don’t y’all let it get hard and turn it back on til it gets loose lol
That's awesome 👌
Where do I buy one
Hey Brandi, I see no one answered you, I'm a Scentsy Consultant, if you want me to send you a catalog with samples I can do that just email me at waxgoodiesforyou@gmail.com :)
Just use cotton balls. 10sec and done
As a scentsy consultant, just stick a cotton ball when warm and it absorbs it all up! Why have a pretty warmer if your going to put a cupcake liner on top of it 😂
I put it in the freezer pops right out
Thank you!
Or you coulda just used a cotton ball... Sucks it right up
Just melt the wax and wipe it out or flush down the toilet?
@JayDoesNotCare
Noooo...dont ever throw away the wax! It can be reused for a later time.
@@MsBgood83 If it lost it's scent it doesn't really matter about the wax - but you should never flush it down the toilet like JayDoesNotCare suggests
Don’t t ever put in the toilet eventually you will have a huge problem and need a plumber
You just turn it on for about 60 sec and the whole things pops right out duhhhh
People that ramble need therapy. Omg. What a waste
That does work. I'm such a lazy melter, I use liner cups in all sizes. Tin foil pie cups. Changed my life!
Or, just melt it a tiny bit and let it slide off the plate like normal people.. lol
