Interesting idea. A tip for cleaning out your warmer though... start warming up the wax and it will loosen from the warmer in a big chunk that is easy to remove. Then take a paper towel and wipe out the excess! Makes cleaning them very quick and easy!
Here's a tip :) when the wax is warm.. Depending on the container.. You can pour the hot wax back into the case and use it later.. :) I got my warmer at Walmart for $3!! And I got tons of scents for pretty cheap! I'm in love!
I use the coffee filter as a sachet for the unstoppable. Trim off the access paper after tying the product in, and toss it in the dressers. Awesome stuff!
I just mixed a cap full of unstoppables, two table spoons of baking soda and a spray bottle full of warm water together and used it as I use febreeze frabric freshner. It was great for fragrancing a room.

You never want to do this.. Imagine the chemical reaction you're creating. Also, the wax from Yankee, yes, is only $2 for one piece that you can break in half. Scentsy wax is $5 for a bar which has 8 sections in it. I get a week or so out of each cube. What makes Scentsy different is that their wax doesn't disappear when warmed like regular candle wax does so you're not inhaling the chemicals that make up candle wax.
So true, the Walmart warmers look basically the same you can get some really cute ones! However using those sent beads that are intended for laundry are actually said to be dangerous as they are not formulated to be melted in a wax burner. Melting these beads put pollutants into the air. Scentsy and other scented waxed are designed to be burned, these laundry beads are not!
Alisha I think all the comments here are the Scentsy Police, hahaha. Anytime I read about how someone makes a wax tart more affordable than Scentsy there are so many negative comments. I understand that this is how they earn their money by selling Scentsy, but a lot of them get really defensive and rude about it. No one is saying Scentsy is a bad product, we just found products that smell great and cost less. A lot of people enjoy making wax tarts and we all love to save money. Count me in!
The only reason the company doesn't want you to try these ideas with their products is because they want to create their own and make people buy it! If you will notice when people started making air freshener they said that was a no no then they started making their own and selling it.. This is no different than any other wax melt! just cheaper and this is WHY THEY DO NOT APPROVE!

Hey! Old video, but great! Thank you! I MUST have my home smelling wonderful, just like you said in your video actually lol. This is great. I have been using the glade/airwick/ plug-in oil wick warmers ,and that gets expensive, though I buy in bulk. This looks like a much better option, and far cheaper. Plus, I have ALWAYS loved the smell of those beads!
Alisha Mathews, put your warmer dish in the freezer for about an hour and you can remove the old wax without any residue. I change my scents a lot and find the an easy way to remove the wax on those days when I'm too lazy to pour the wax back in the package for reuse.
I have the same warmer lid as your daughter and an easy way to remove the wax once it's hardened is to put the lid/wax in the freezer for two minutes, then press your knife into the wAx and it will spilt into two parts. It will fall right out of the lid! Not sure how well it will work with downy but it's worth a try :)
Honestly you can use Yankee tarts in warmers and they're less than $2 a piece! Break the tart in half and it lasts for several days. Scentsy want you to use their product though and if you use any other wax, it voids the warranty, but it works just as good and no it DOES NOT have chemicals for those at might try to tell you that...my mother works for them.

I really liked this idea and wanted to try it till I read that you shouldn't warm it past 200. any idea how hit the wax gets? I was connecting, also, you could learn to make candles, but ya know, I was just thinking... go to somewhere like Michael's. check out their big candles. look for one that is super strong smelling. take an old mini-muffin tin, spray with cooking spray, melt the candle wax (what you Could do is just light it and leave it for a while), blow it out, give it a few mins so you don't get that black junk, then pour into mini muffin tin, and let cool. pop out and use! I'd LOVE to use the downy, but since is risky, ya know what you Could do? order a great smelling fragrance oil for what? $5? and it will last for about three years! just add a couple drops to your melted wax!
I always purchase my scentsy bars from a rep for $5 with a buy 5 get 1 free deal. Also, I like the fact that if we bump our wall unit and it spills it dries quickly and will NOT burn the skin... a MAJOR
Im not saying this is safe to breath in but its fabric softener it goes in the dryer the dryer gets hot enough to melt the unstoppables (dryers get hot enough to kill bed bugs) the warmer will be ok. As an advid scentsy user I can say they dont last as long as they use to I buy the lg 17oz pk about 20$ it doesnt last even a month and not worth the money I spend im going to try this it's either going to work or not
I've always let the wax get warm a little bit enough to slide the wax out with no resadue. Then I start fresh with a new square of wax, that has been the easy way for me I've done that since I've gotten my wax burner.

People should keep in mind, Scentsy advertises their wax as food grade. Note sure if the Walmart stuff is the same but something everyone should keep in mind.

if you can't afford scentsy or other wax through high end companies, seriously just buy the cheap ones from walmart. the downy beads are bad for you and cost more than some of the wax designed for warmers at walmart! if you can afford downy unstoppables you can afford to use a safer alternative such as walmart brand wax. its cheaper and safer!

have you tried putting the top thing with the wax in it in the freezer when your done then the wax should slide right off that way you dont have to dig it out
Scentsy bars are $5 each not $20. I have tried the scentsy and wal mart brand but i prefer the scentsy brand for the long lasting smell. The wal mart brand is good too and $2 is cheap. I tried the downy beads today and it took forever to melt and couldnt hardly smell unlessi bent over to smell it.

You should do your research. The company that made these beads has sent out a warning to people doing this with their product. When burned in a warmer, they give off toxins that are awful for your health! You should not be so rude when people are just trying to warn this lady of the hazard of doing this!

U can also use any one of the fabuloso floor mopping solution it's awesome and we'll make your whole house smell really good, as a matter of fact I ran out of my wax so I use "my favorite alternative, (fabuloso)" My all time favorite smell with that is the purple one, it last a REALLY LONG time&& it's not strong enough to cause any effects, as in headaches anything like that due to it being super strong 😜
You really shouldn't do that. There's lots of chemicals in those downy beads... the wax is non-toxic. It's really recommended that you only use the warmers as directed.

I also see no need to to compare what you're doing to Scentsy or any other brand you're using! And the reality is not ALL warmers and wax melts are created equal, so if that's something you're interested in do a little homework and find the one that best suits your needs and budget! Scentsy wax is safe, non-toxic & environmentally friendly, so it's safe for EVERYBODY to breathe! What you're promoting is dangerous! Shame on you!

Nice video, if you have the removable plate, let your wax cool and place it in the freezer and the wax will slide right off.

We use the liquid gain fabric softener. Smells awesome and a $5 bottle last almost 3 months

If i can burn insence...spray aerosol fragrances from glade...i think this is ok..i havent gone to the ER yet.

Put your warmer dish that has the old wax in it in the frezzer for about 5 min and it will pop out no need to scrap it out.

Scentsy has Clean Breeze that smells like fresh laundry:) The Downey beads are meant for laundry use.

You can get all the wax out easily by putting your-warmer in the freezer for an hour. The wax falls right out.
